< Psalms 18 >

1 “To the chief musician, by the servant of the Lord, by David, who spoke unto the Lord the words of this song on the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the power of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul; And he said,” I ever love thee, O Lord, my strength.
David, Yehowa ƒe dɔla, ƒe ha na hɛnɔ la. David dzi ha sia na Yehowa le esime wòɖee tso Saul kple eƒe futɔ bubuawo ƒe asi me. David gblɔ be: O! Yehowa, nye ŋusẽ, melɔ̃ wò.
2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I trust; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Yehowa nye nye agakpe, nye mɔ kple nye xɔnametɔ. Nye Mawu nye nye agakpe, eyae mesi tso. Eyae nye nye akpoxɔnu kple ɖeɖe ƒe ŋusẽ kple nye mɔ sesẽ.
3 Praised, I cried, be the Lord, and from my enemies was I saved.
Meyɔ Yehowa, ame si dze na kafukafu, eɖem tso nye futɔwo katã ƒe asi me.
4 The bonds of death encompassed me, and the floods of destruction made me afraid.
Ku ƒe kawo blam, eye nu siwo gblẽa ame la ƒo ɖe dzinye abe tɔʋu ene.
5 The bonds of hell encircled me: the snares of death seized on me. (Sheol h7585)
Tsiẽƒe ƒe kawo blam, eye ku ƒe mɔtetrewo ɖi kpem. (Sheol h7585)
6 [When] in my distress I called upon the Lord, and unto my God I cried: he heard from his temple my voice, and my complaint came before him, even into his ears.
Meyɔ Yehowa le nye xaxa me; medo ɣli na nye Mawu be wòaɖem. Ese nye gbe tso eƒe gbedoxɔ me ke, eye nye ɣlidodo ɖo egbɔ, ge ɖe eƒe to me.
7 Then shook and trembled the earth; and the foundations of the mountains were moved; and they were shaken, because he was wroth.
Tete anyigba dzo nyanyanya, eye wòʋuʋu; towo ƒe agunuwo ke hã ʋuʋu heyeheye, eye wodzo kpekpekpe, elabena dzi kui.
8 Smoke went up in his anger and consuming fire out of his mouth: coals flamed forth from him.
Dzudzɔ do tso eƒe ŋɔtime; dzo ƒe aɖewo do tso eƒe nu me eye dzoka xɔxɔwo kplɔe ɖo.
9 And he bent the heavens, and came down: and thick darkness was under his feet:
Ema dziŋgɔli ɖe eve, wòto eme ɖi va anyi, eye lilikpo do blukɔ le eƒe afɔ te.
10 And he rode upon a cherub, and flew along, and he flitted by upon the wings of the wind.
Ede kerubiwo dzi, eye wòdzo dzo. Eɖo asagba ɖe ya ƒe aʋalawo dzi.
11 He made darkness his hiding-place, round about him as his pavilion, dark waters, thick clouds of the skies.
Viviti nye avɔ si wòtsyɔ, eye lilikpo yibɔ si dzaa tsi lae nye agbadɔ si ƒo xlãe.
12 From the brightness before him his thick clouds passed away, [with] hail-stones and coals of fire.
Lilikpo, kpetsi kple dzikedzo do tso eƒe mo ƒe keklẽ la me.
13 And the Lord thundered in the heavens, and the Most High uttered forth his voice, [with] hail-stones and coals of fire.
Yehowa ɖe gbe tso dziƒo, eye Dziƒoʋĩtɔ la na wose eƒe gbe.
14 And he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot forth lightnings, and discomfited them.
Eda eƒe aŋutrɔ, eye wòkaka eƒe futɔwo, eɖo dzikedzo ɖa, eye wòtɔtɔ wo.
15 And then were seen the channels of the waters, and there were laid open the foundations of the world, through thy rebuke, O Lord, through the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
Atsiaƒu ƒe balimewo dze gaglã, eye anyigba ƒe gɔmeɖoɖo tsi ƒuƒlu. Le Yehowa ƒe nyaheɖeameŋu kple gbɔgbɔ si do tso eƒe ŋɔtime ta.
16 He stretched out from above [his hand], he took me; he drew me out from mighty waters.
Edo asi ɖa tso dziƒo lém, Heɖem tso tɔ goglowo me.
17 He delivered me from my enemy, the strong, and from those that hated me, when they were too mighty for me.
Eɖem tso nye futɔ ŋusẽtɔwo ƒe asi me, tso nye ketɔwo ƒe asi me, ame siwo sesẽ wum akpa la ƒe asi me.
18 They overcame me on the day of my calamity; but the Lord became my stay.
Woƒo ɖe dzinye le nye dzɔgbevɔ̃egbe, gake Yehowa nye nye kpeɖeŋutɔ.
19 And he brought me forth into a large space; he delivered me, because he had delight in me.
Eɖem tsɔ da ɖe teƒe gbadzaa; eɖem, elabena nye nu nyo eŋu.
20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the purity of my hands did he recompense me.
Yehowa nɔ kplim le nye dzɔdzɔenyenye nu, eye wòwɔ nyui nam le esi nye asi me dza la ta.
21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
Elabena melé Yehowa ƒe mɔwo me ɖe asi; nyemewɔ vɔ̃ hetrɔ le nye Mawu yome o.
22 For all his ordinances were before me, and his statutes had I not put away from me.
Eƒe sewo katã le ŋkunye me; eye nyemetrɔ le eƒe ɖoɖowo yome o.
23 I was also upright with him, and I guarded myself against my iniquity.
Nyemeɖi fɔ le eŋkume o, eye mete ɖokuinye ɖa tso nu vɔ̃ gbɔ.
24 Therefore did the Lord recompense me according to my righteousness, according to the purity of my hands before his eyes.
Yehowa wɔ nyui nam le nye dzɔdzɔenyenye kple esi nye asi me dza le eŋkume la ta.
25 With the kind thou wilt show thyself kind; with the upright man thou wilt show thyself upright;
Èwɔa nuteƒe na nuteƒewɔla, eye nèfiaa ɖokuiwò fɔmaɖilae na ame si ŋu fɔɖiɖi mele o.
26 With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the perverse thou wilt wage a contest.
Ame si dza le eƒe dzi me la, èɖea ɖokuiwò fianɛ be èdza, eye nèfiaa ɖokuiwò ayetɔe ɖe ayetɔ la ŋu.
27 For thou wilt indeed save the afflicted people; but haughty eyes wilt thou bring down.
Èɖea ame siwo bɔbɔa wo ɖokui, ke ame siwo si dadaŋku le la, èɖiɖia wo ɖe anyi.
28 For thou wilt cause my light to shine: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
Wò, O! Yehowae na nye akaɖi le bibim, eye nye Mawu trɔ nye viviti wòzu kekeli.
29 For [aided] by thee I run through a troop; and [helped] by my God I leap over a wall.
Mate ŋu alũ ɖe aʋakɔ dzi to wò kpekpeɖeŋu me, eye le nye Mawu ta mate ŋu ati kpo aflɔ gli.
30 As for God, —his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a shield to all those that trust in him.
Mawu ya ƒe mɔwo de blibo, Yehowa ƒe nya nye nyateƒe sɔŋ. Enye akpoxɔnu na ame siwo tsɔe wɔ sitsoƒee.
31 For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock beside our God?
Elabena ame kae ganye Mawu kpe ɖe Yehowa ŋu? Ame kae ganye Agakpe, ɖe menye míaƒe Mawu la koe oa?
32 He is the God that girdeth me with strength, and rendereth my way unobstructed.
Mawue nye nye mɔ sesẽ, Eyae na nye mɔ zu gbadzaa.
33 He maketh my feet like those of the hinds, and upon my high-places he causeth me to stand.
Ewɔ nye afɔwo abe zi tɔwo ene, eye wòna metea ŋu tsia tsitre ɖe teƒe kɔkɔwo.
34 He teacheth my hands for the war, so that a brazen bow is bent by my arms.
Efia aʋawɔwɔ nye asiwo, eye nye asiwo ate ŋu abɔ dati si wowɔ kple akɔbli.
35 And thou gavest me the shield of thy salvation, and thy right hand supported me: and thy meekness hath made me great.
Ètsɔ wò dziɖuɖu ƒe akpoxɔnu la nam, eye wò nuɖusi lém ɖe te. Èbɔbɔ ɖokuiwò be nàdo kɔkɔm.
36 Thou enlargest my steps under me, so that my joints do not slip.
Èkeke mɔ le tenye, be nye klowo magli le tenye o.
37 I pursue my enemies, and overtake them; and I return not again till I have made an end of them.
Meti nye futɔwo yome, eye metu wo. Nyemetrɔ le wo yome o, va se ɖe esime wotsrɔ̃.
38 I crush them that they are not able to rise: they fall under my feet.
Metsrɔ̃ wo be womagate ŋu afɔ gbeɖe o, ale wodze anyi ɖe nye afɔ nu.
39 For thou hast girded me with strength for the war: thou subduest my opponents under me.
Wòe na ŋusẽm hena aʋa la wɔwɔ, Èna mebɔbɔ ame siwo katã tso ɖe ŋunye la ɖe anyi.
40 And my enemies thou causest to turn their back to me; and those that hate me, —that I may destroy them.
Èna nye futɔwo trɔ megbe dem helé du tsɔ, eye metsrɔ̃ nye futɔwo.
41 They cry, but there is none to help; unto the Lord, —but he answereth them not.
Wodo ɣli be Yehowa naxɔ na yewo, gake ame aɖeke mexɔ na wo o, elabena Yehowa metɔ na wo o.
42 And I beat them small as the dust before the wind: like the dirt in the streets do I cast them out.
Metu wo memie abe ʋuʋudedi si ya lɔ ɖe nu la ene, eye metrɔ wo ɖe mɔtata dzi abe anyi ene.
43 Thou deliverest me from the contests of the people; thou appointest me to be the head of nations: a people that I know not shall serve me.
Èɖem tso ame siwo va dze dzinye la ƒe asi me, ètsɔm ɖo dukɔwo nu, eye ame siwo nyemenya o la dzie meɖu fia ɖo.
44 As soon as their ear heareth they shall be obedient to me: the children of the stranger shall utter flattery unto me.
Ne wose ŋkɔnye ko la, woɖoa tom, eye du bubu me tɔwo gɔ̃ hã dzona nyanyanya le nye ŋkume.
45 The children of the stranger shall fade away, and come forth trembling out of their close places.
Dzi ɖena le wo katã ƒo, eye wotsɔa dzodzo nyanyanya hedoa goe le woƒe mɔ sesẽwo me.
46 The Lord liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation;
Yehowa li tegbee! Woakafu nye Agakpe la! Woado Mawu, nye Xɔla la, ɖe dzi bobobo!
47 The God that granteth me vengeance, and subdueth nations under me;
Eyae nye Mawu si biaa hlɔ̃ nam, eye wòbɔbɔa dukɔwo ɖe nye afɔ te,
48 That delivereth me from my enemies: also above my opponents thou liftest me up; thou deliverest me from the man of violence.
ame si ɖeam tso nye futɔwo ƒe asi me. Èkɔm ɖe dzi gbɔ nye futɔwo ta, eye nèɖem tso ŋutasẽlawo ƒe asi me.
49 Therefore will I give thanks unto thee among the nations, O Lord, and unto thy name will I sing praises, —
O! Yehowa, makafu wò le dukɔwo dome le esia ta, eye madzi kafukafuha na wò ŋkɔ.
50 [To him] that maketh great the salvation of his king, and who sheweth kindness to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for ever.
Ena dziɖuɖu gãwo eƒe fia la; eɖe amenuveve si nu meyi o la fia David, eƒe amesiamina la kple eƒe dzidzimeviwo tegbee.
