Psalms 16
1 “A Michtham of David.” Preserve me, O God; for I have placed my trust in thee.
Miktam Dawida. Strzeż mnie, o Boże, bo tobie ufam.
2 [O my soul], thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my happiness is not without thee;
[Moja dusza] mówi do PANA: Ty jesteś [moim] Panem, a moja dobroć nie przynosi ci żadnej korzyści;
3 [But] in the saints who are on the earth, and in the excellent—in them is all my delight.
Lecz świętym, którzy są na ziemi, i szlachetnym, w których całe moje upodobanie.
4 Multiplied shall be the sorrows of those who give presents to another god: I will not pour out their drink-offerings of blood, nor bear their names upon my lips.
Rozmnożą się boleści tych, którzy chodzą za obcymi [bogami]. Nie złożę im ofiar z krwi i nie wymówię ich imion swoimi ustami.
5 Thou, O Lord, art the portion of my inheritance, and my cup; thou hast drawn my lot.
PAN [jest] udziałem mego dziedzictwa i kielicha; ty strzeżesz mojego losu.
6 My possessions are fallen in agreeable places: yea, my heritage is pleasant to me.
Sznury [miernicze] wyznaczyły mi przyjemne [miejsca] i miłe jest moje dziedzictwo.
7 I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: also in the night seasons my reins admonish me.
Będę błogosławił PANA, który udzielił mi rady, [bo] nawet w nocy pouczają mnie moje nerki.
8 I have always set the Lord before me, that, being at my right hand, I might not be moved.
Stawiam PANA zawsze przed oczami; skoro on jest po mojej prawicy, nie zachwieję się.
9 Therefore is rejoiced my heart, and my spirit is glad: also my flesh shall rest in safety.
Dlatego cieszy się moje serce i raduje się moja chwała, a moje ciało będzie spoczywać bezpiecznie.
10 For thou wilt not abandon my soul to the grave: thou wilt not suffer thy pious [servant] to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
Nie zostawisz bowiem mojej duszy w piekle ani nie dopuścisz swemu Świętemu doznać zniszczenia. (Sheol h7585)
11 Thou wilt let me know the path of life: fulness of joy is in thy presence; pleasures are at thy right hand for evermore.
Dasz mi poznać drogę życia, pełnię radości przed twoim obliczem, rozkosze po twojej prawicy na wieki.
