Psalms 16
1 “A Michtham of David.” Preserve me, O God; for I have placed my trust in thee.
Ein Gedicht von David. Bewahre mich, Gott, denn ich traue auf dich!
2 [O my soul], thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my happiness is not without thee;
Du, meine Seele, hast zu Jehova gesagt: Du bist der Herr; meine Güte reicht nicht hinauf zu dir.
3 [But] in the saints who are on the earth, and in the excellent—in them is all my delight.
Du hast zu den Heiligen gesagt, die auf Erden sind, und zu den Herrlichen: An ihnen ist alle meine Lust.
4 Multiplied shall be the sorrows of those who give presents to another god: I will not pour out their drink-offerings of blood, nor bear their names upon my lips.
Viele werden der Schmerzen derer sein, die einem anderen nacheilen; ihre Trankopfer von Blut werde ich nicht spenden, und ihre Namen nicht auf meine Lippen nehmen.
5 Thou, O Lord, art the portion of my inheritance, and my cup; thou hast drawn my lot.
Jehova ist das Teil meines Erbes und meines Bechers; du erhältst mein Los.
6 My possessions are fallen in agreeable places: yea, my heritage is pleasant to me.
Die Meßschnüre sind mir gefallen in lieblichen Örtern; ja, ein schönes Erbteil ist mir geworden.
7 I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: also in the night seasons my reins admonish me.
Jehova werde ich preisen, der mich beraten hat, selbst des Nachts unterweisen mich meine Nieren.
8 I have always set the Lord before me, that, being at my right hand, I might not be moved.
Ich habe Jehova stets vor mich gestellt; weil er zu meiner Rechten ist, werde ich nicht wanken.
9 Therefore is rejoiced my heart, and my spirit is glad: also my flesh shall rest in safety.
Darum freut sich mein Herz, und frohlockt meine Seele. Auch mein Fleisch wird in Sicherheit ruhen.
10 For thou wilt not abandon my soul to the grave: thou wilt not suffer thy pious [servant] to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
Denn meine Seele wirst du dem Scheol nicht lassen, wirst nicht zugeben, daß dein Frommer die Verwesung sehe. (Sheol h7585)
11 Thou wilt let me know the path of life: fulness of joy is in thy presence; pleasures are at thy right hand for evermore.
Du wirst mir kundtun den Weg des Lebens; Fülle von Freuden ist vor deinem Angesicht, Lieblichkeiten in deiner Rechten immerdar.
