< Psalms 149 >
1 Hallelujah. Sing unto the Lord a new song, his praise in the congregation of the pious.
Alleluia. Sing to the Lord a new song: his praise is in the assembly of the saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in his Maker: let the children of Zion exult in their King.
Let Israel rejoice in him that made him; and let the children of Sion exult in their king.
3 Let them praise his name in the dance: with the timbrel and harp let them sing praises unto him.
Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sings praises to him with timbrel and lute.
4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people; he will adorn the meek with salvation.
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; and will exalt the meek with salvation.
5 Let the pious be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their couches.
The saints shall rejoice in glory; and shall exult on their beds.
6 The exalted praises of God are in their mouth, and a two-edged sword is in their hand;
The high praises of God shall be in their throat, and two-edged swords in their hands;
7 To execute vengeance on the nations, and chastisements on the people:
to execute vengeance on the nations, [and] punishments amongst the peoples;
8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron:
to bind their kings with fetters, and their nobles with manacles of iron; to execute on them the judgement written: this honour have all his saints.
9 To execute upon them the judgment [which is] written: this is an honor for all his pious servants. Hallelujah.
