Psalms 146

1 Hallelujah. Praise, O my soul, the Lord.

Dumisani uThixo. Dumisa uThixo mphefumulo wami.

2 I will praise the Lord throughout my life: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

Ngizamdumisa uThixo impilo yami yonke; ngizahlabela indumiso kuNkulunkulu wami nxa ngisaphila.

3 Put not your trust in princes, in the son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

Lingabeki ithemba lenu emakhosini, ebantwini benyama, abangeke basindise.

4 When his spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his [native] earth: on that very day perish his thoughts.

Kuthi umoya wabo ungaphuma, babuyele emhlabathini; mhlalokho nje amacebo ahle abhidlike.

5 [But] happy is he who hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is on the Lord his God;

Ubusisiwe lowo osizo lwakhe lunguNkulunkulu kaJakhobe, othemba lakhe likuThixo uNkulunkulu wakhe.

6 Who hath made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;

UnguMenzi wamazulu lomhlaba, ulwandle lakho konke okulapho: uThixo owala elokhu ethembekile laphakade.

7 Who executeth justice for the oppressed: who giveth bread to the hungry: the Lord looseneth the prisoners;

Uyabalwela abancindezelwayo anike abalambileyo ukudla. UThixo ukhulula izibotshwa,

8 The Lord causeth the blind to see; the Lord raiseth up those who are bowed down; the Lord loveth the righteous:

uThixo wenza iziphofu zibone, uThixo uyabaphakamisa labo asebebhazalele, uThixo uthanda abalungileyo.

9 The Lord guardeth the strangers; the fatherless and widow he helpeth up; but the way of the wicked he maketh crooked.

UThixo uyabalinda abezizweni asekele izintandane labafelokazi, kodwa anyampise izindlela zababi.

10 The Lord will reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Hallelujah.

UThixo uyabusa nini lanini, uNkulunkulu wakho, wena Ziyoni, ezizukulwaneni zonke. Dumisani uThixo.
