Psalms 145
1 “A hymn of praise by David.” I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
qChant de louange. De David. ALEPH. Je veux t’exalter, mon Dieu, ô Roi, et bénir ton nom à jamais et toujours.
2 Every day will I bless thee, and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
Je veux chaque jour te bénir, et célébrer ton nom toujours et à jamais.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.
Yahweh est grand et digne de toute louange, et sa grandeur est insondable.
4 One generation shall praise thy works to the other, and thy mighty acts shall they declare.
Chaque âge dira au suivant la louange de tes œuvres, on publiera tes prodiges.
5 On the majestic glory of thy excellence, and on thy wondrous deeds will I meditate.
Je chanterai l’éclat glorieux de ta majesté, et tes œuvres prodigieuses.
6 And of the might of thy terrible acts shall men converse: and thy greatness will I relate.
Et l’on parlera de ta puissance redoutable, et je raconterai ta grandeur.
7 The memorial of thy abundant goodness shall they loudly proclaim, and they shall sing joyfully of thy righteousness.
On proclamera le souvenir de ton immense bonté, et on célébrera ta justice.
8 Gracious and merciful is the Lord, long-suffering, and great in kindness.
Yahweh est miséricordieux et compatissant, lent à la colère et plein de bonté.
9 The Lord is good to all, and his mercies are over all his works.
Yahweh est bon envers tous, et sa miséricorde s’étend sur toutes ses créatures.
10 All thy works shall thank thee, O Lord; and thy pious servants shall bless thee.
Toutes tes œuvres te louent, Yahweh, et tes fidèles te bénissent.
11 Of the glory of thy kingdom shall they converse, and of thy might shall they speak:
Ils disent la gloire de ton règne, et proclament ta puissance,
12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.
afin de faire connaître aux fils des hommes ses prodiges, et le glorieux éclat de son règne.
13 Thy kingdom is a kingdom of all eternities, and thy dominion [subsisteth] throughout all generations.
Ton règne est un règne éternel, et ta domination subsiste dans tous les âges.
14 The Lord upholdeth all who are falling, and raiseth up all those who are bowed down.
Yahweh soutient tous ceux qui tombent, il redresse tous ceux qui sont courbés.
15 The eyes of all wait hopefully upon thee, and thou givest them their food in its due season.
Les yeux de tous les êtres sont tournés vers toi dans l’attente, et tu leur donnes leur nourriture en son temps.
16 Thou openest thy hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
Tu ouvres ta main, et tu rassasies de tes biens tout ce qui respire.
17 Righteous is the Lord in all his ways, and beneficent in all his works.
Yahweh est juste dans toutes ses voies, et miséricordieux dans toutes ses œuvres.
18 The Lord is nigh unto all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Yahweh est près de tous ceux qui l’invoquent, de tous ceux qui l’invoquent d’un cœur sincère.
19 The desire of those who fear him will he fulfill, and their cry will he hear, and save them.
Il accomplit les désirs de ceux qui le craignent, il entend leur cri et il les sauve.
20 The Lord preserveth all those who love him; but all the wicked will he destroy.
Yahweh garde tous ceux qui l’aiment, et il détruit tous les méchants.
21 The praise of the Lord shall my mouth speak: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
Que ma bouche publie la louange de Yahweh, et que toute chair bénisse son saint nom, toujours, à jamais!
