< Psalms 14 >
1 “To the chief musician, by David.” The worthless fool saith in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they are abominable [in their] doings, there is none that doth good.
Kwa mwimbishaji. Zaburi ya Daudi. Mpumbavu anasema moyoni mwake, “Hakuna Mungu.” Wameharibika, matendo yao ni maovu kabisa; hakuna hata mmoja atendaye mema.
2 The Lord looketh down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there be one intelligent, one who seeketh for God.
Bwana anawachungulia wanadamu chini kutoka mbinguni aone kama wako wenye akili, wowote wanaomtafuta Mungu.
3 They are all gone aside, they are altogether become corrupt: there is none that doth good, no, not even one.
Wote wamepotoka, wameharibika wote pamoja, hakuna atendaye mema. Naam, hakuna hata mmoja!
4 Is there no knowledge in all the workers of wickedness? who eat up my people as they eat bread; [while] they do not call on the Lord.
Je, watendao mabaya kamwe hawatajifunza: wale ambao huwala watu wangu kama watu walavyo mkate, hao ambao hawamwiti Bwana?
5 There are they terrified in terror; for God is with the righteous generation:
Wako hapo, wameingiwa na hofu kuu, maana Mungu yupo pamoja na wenye haki.
6 The counsel of the poor [though] you put to shame; because the Lord is his protection.
Ninyi watenda mabaya mnakwamisha mipango ya maskini, bali Bwana ndiye kimbilio lao.
7 Oh that some one might bring the salvation of Israel out of Zion! When the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, then will Jacob be glad, and Israel will rejoice.
Laiti wokovu wa Israeli ungalikuja kutoka Sayuni! Wakati Bwana arejeshapo wafungwa wa watu wake, Yakobo na ashangilie, Israeli na afurahi!
