Psalms 138

1 “By David.” I will praise thee with my whole heart: before [thee], O God, will I sing praise unto thee.

Nitakushukuru kwa moyo wangu wote; mbele ya miungu nitakuimbia sifa.

2 I will bow myself down before thy holy temple, and I will thank thy name for thy kindness and for thy truth; for thou hast magnified above all thy name thy promise.

Nitasujundu mbele ya hekalu lako takatifu na kulishukuru jina lako kwa ajili ya uaminifu wa agano lako na kwa uaminifu wako. Umelifanya muhimu zaidi neno lako na jina lako kuliko kitu chochote.

3 On the day when I called didst thou answer me, and raise me up with strength in my soul.

Siku ile niliyo kuita, ulinijibu; ulinitia moyo na kuitia nguvu nafsi yangu.

4 All the kings of the earth will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, when they hear the promises of thy mouth.

Wafalme wote wa nchi watakushukuru wewe, Yahwe, maana watasikia maneno kutoka kinywani mwako.

5 And they will sing on the ways of the Lord; for great is the glory of the Lord.

Hakika, wataimba kuhusu matendo ya Yahwe, kwa kuwa utukufu wa Yahwe ni mkuu.

6 For exalted is the Lord, yet doth he regard the lowly; but the proud he punisheth from afar.

Maana ingawa Yahwe yuko juu, lakini anawajali wanyenyekevu, lakini hawatambui wenye majivuno.

7 If I should walk in the midst of distress, thou wilt revive me: against the wrath of my enemies wilt thou stretch forth thy hand, and thy right hand will save me.

Nijapopita katikati ya hatari, wewe utauhifadhi uhai wangu; utanyoosha mkono wako dhidi ya hasira ya adui zangu, na mkono wako wa kuume utaniokoa.

8 The Lord will accomplish [all] in my behalf; O Lord, thy kindness endureth for ever: the works of thy own hands do not abandon.

Yahwe yuko pamoja nami hadi mwisho; uaminifu wa agano lako, Yahwe, wadumu milele. Usiwaache wale ambao mikono yako imewaumba.
