< Psalms 13 >

1 “To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me continually! how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
In finem, Psalmus David. Usquequo Domine oblivisceris me in finem? Usquequo avertis faciem tuam a me?
2 How long shall I have to devise resolves in my soul, with grief in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy exalt himself over me?
Quamdiu ponam consilia in anima mea, dolorem in corde meo per diem?
3 Look down, answer me, O Lord my God! enlighten my eyes, that I may not sleep the sleep of death;
Usquequo exaltabitur inimicus meus super me?
4 That my enemy may not say, I have overcome him; that my assailants may not be glad when I am moved.
respice, et exaudi me Domine Deus meus. Illumina oculos meos ne umquam obdormiam in morte:
5 But I trust in thy kindness, let my heart be glad because of thy salvation:
ne quando dicat inimicus meus: Prævalui adversus eum. Qui tribulant me, exultabunt si motus fuero:
6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
ego autem in misericordia tua speravi. Exultabit cor meum in salutari tuo: cantabo Domino qui bona tribuit mihi: et psallam nomini Domini altissimi.
