Psalms 129

1 “A song of the degrees.” Many a time have they assailed me from my youth, so should Israel say;

Nyanyian ziarah. Mereka telah cukup menyesakkan aku sejak masa mudaku--biarlah Israel berkata demikian--

2 Many a time have they assailed me from my youth: yet have they not prevailed against me.

3 Upon my back have ploughmen ploughed; they have drawn long their furrows:

Di atas punggungku pembajak membajak, membuat panjang alur bajak mereka.

4 [Yet] the Lord is righteous; he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

TUHAN itu adil, Ia memotong tali-tali orang fasik.

5 May all be put to shame and turned backward that hate Zion;

Semua orang yang membenci Sion akan mendapat malu dan akan mundur.

6 May they become like the grass of the roofs, which withereth before it is pulled up;

Mereka seperti rumput di atas sotoh, yang menjadi layu, sebelum dicabut,

7 Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor his arm he that bindeth sheaves.

yang tidak digenggam tangan penyabit, atau dirangkum orang yang mengikat berkas,

8 Nor do they who pass by say, The blessing of the Lord be with you: we bless you in the name of the Lord.

sehingga orang-orang yang lewat tidak berkata: "Berkat TUHAN atas kamu! Kami memberkati kamu dalam nama TUHAN!"
