< Psalms 128 >
1 “A song of the degrees.” Happy is every one that feareth the Lord, that walketh in his ways.
canticum graduum beati omnes qui timent Dominum qui ambulant in viis eius
2 When thou eatest the labor of thy hands: [then] wilt thou be happy, and it shall be well with thee.
labores manuum tuarum quia; manducabis beatus es et bene tibi erit
3 Thy wife is [then] as a fruitful vine in the recesses of thy house: thy children, like olive-plants round about thy table.
uxor tua sicut vitis abundans in lateribus domus tuae filii tui sicut novella olivarum in circuitu mensae tuae
4 Behold, truly thus shall be blessed the man that feareth the Lord.
ecce sic benedicetur homo qui timet Dominum
5 May the Lord bless thee out of Zion: and see thou the happiness of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
benedicat te Dominus ex Sion et videas bona Hierusalem omnibus diebus vitae tuae
6 And see thou thy children's children: may there be peace upon Israel.
et videas filios filiorum tuorum pax super Israhel
