< Psalms 124 >
1 “A song of the degrees by David.” If it had not been the Lord who was for us, so should Israel say;
Ɔsoroforɔ dwom. Dawid deɛ. Sɛ anka Awurade nni yɛn afa a, ma Israel nka.
2 If it had not been the Lord who was for us, when men rose up against us:
Sɛ anka Awurade nni yɛn afa ɛberɛ a nnipa to hyɛɛ yɛn so,
3 Then would they have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
ɛberɛ a wɔn abufuo sɔree tiaa yɛn a, anka wɔmenee yɛn anikann;
4 Then would the waters have overwhelmed us, the stream would have passed over our soul;
anka nsuyire no bu faa yɛn so, anka ɔhweam no twee yɛn kɔeɛ,
5 Then would have passed over our soul the presumptuous waters.
anka nsuo a ano yɛ den no afa yɛn kɔ.
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us up as a prey to their teeth.
Nkamfoɔ nka Awurade a wɔamma ho kwan amma wɔamfa wɔn se antete yɛn mu.
7 Our soul is escaped like a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Yɛadwane sɛ anomaa afiri afirisumfoɔ afidie mu; afidie no mu abubu, ama yɛanya ɛkwan adwane.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
Yɛn mmoa wɔ Awurade din mu, ɔsoro ne asase Yɛfoɔ no.
