< Psalms 124 >
1 “A song of the degrees by David.” If it had not been the Lord who was for us, so should Israel say;
David ih kasang laa. Aicae bangah Angraeng om ai nahaeloe, Israelnawk mah hae tiah thui o nasoe;
2 If it had not been the Lord who was for us, when men rose up against us:
aicae bangah Angraeng om ai nahaeloe, kaminawk loe aicae ih misa ah om o tih,
3 Then would they have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
nihcae mah aicae han palung ang phui o thuih naah, aicae to kahing ah na paaeh o tih boeh;
4 Then would the waters have overwhelmed us, the stream would have passed over our soul;
kalen tui mah aicae khuk khoep ueloe, aicae pakhra nuiah tui to long tih boeh;
5 Then would have passed over our soul the presumptuous waters.
kamoek tuinawk loe aicae pakhra nuiah long o tih boeh.
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us up as a prey to their teeth.
Nihcae mah aicae haa hoi kaek hanah paek ai, Angraeng loe tahamhoihaih om nasoe.
7 Our soul is escaped like a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Aicae ih pakhra loe dongh patung kami ih dongh thung hoi kaloih tavaa baktiah loih o; dongh qui to apet dok moe, aicae loe a loih o.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
Aicae abomhaih loe van hoi long sahkung, Angraeng ih ahmin ah ni oh.
