< Psalms 123 >

1 “A song of the degrees.” Unto thee do I lift up my eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
Nyimbo yoyimba pokwera ku Yerusalemu. Ndikweza maso anga kwa Inu, kwa Inu amene mumakhala kumwamba.
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants are directed unto the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress: thus are our eyes directed unto the Lord our God, until he be gracious unto us.
Taonani, monga momwe maso a akapolo amayangʼana mʼdzanja la mbuye wawo, monga momwenso maso a mdzakazi amayangʼana mʼdzanja la dona wake, choncho maso athu ali kwa Yehova Mulungu wathu, mpaka atichitire chifundo.
3 Be gracious unto us, O Lord! be gracious unto us; for we are overburdened with contempt.
Mutichitire chifundo, Inu Yehova mutichitire chifundo, pakuti tapirira chitonzo chachikulu.
4 Our soul is overburdened with the scorn of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud oppressors.
Ife tapirira mnyozo wambiri kuchokera kwa anthu odzikuza, chitonzo chachikulu kuchokera kwa anthu onyada.
