Psalms 120

1 “A song of the degrees.” Unto the Lord, when I was in distress, did I call, and he hath answered me.

שיר המעלות אל יהוה בצרתה לי קראתי ויענני׃

2 O Lord, deliver my soul from lips of falsehood, and from a tongue of deceit.

יהוה הצילה נפשי משפת שקר מלשון רמיה׃

3 What will [God] give unto thee? or what will he add unto thee, thou tongue of deceit?

מה יתן לך ומה יסיף לך לשון רמיה׃

4 Sharpened arrows of the mighty, with coals of the broom-bush.

חצי גבור שנונים עם גחלי רתמים׃

5 Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

אויה לי כי גרתי משך שכנתי עם אהלי קדר׃

6 Too long for herself hath my soul dwelt with him that hateth peace.

רבת שכנה לה נפשי עם שונא שלום׃

7 I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.

אני שלום וכי אדבר המה למלחמה׃
