Psalms 115
1 Not for our sake, O Lord, not for our sake, but unto thy name give glory, for the sake of thy kindness, for the sake of thy truth.
Icke oss, Herre, icke oss, utan dino Namne, gif ärona, för dina nåde och sannings skull.
2 Wherefore should the nations say, Where now is their God?
Hvi skulle Hedningarna säga: Hvar är nu deras Gud?
3 Whereas our God is in the heavens: whatsoever he desireth hath he done.
Men vår Gud är i himmelen; han kan göra hvad han vill.
4 Their idols are sliver and gold, the work of the hands of man.
Men deras afgudar äro silfver och guld, med menniskors händer gjorde.
5 A mouth they have, but speak not; eyes they have, but see not;
De hafva mun, och tala intet; de hafva ögon, och se intet.
6 Ears they have, but hear not; a nose they have, but smell not.
De hafva öron, och höra intet; de hafva näso, och lukta intet.
7 They have hands, but they touch not; they have feet, but they walk not: nor do they give any utterance by their throat.
De hafva händer, och taga intet; fötter hafva de, och gå intet; och tala intet genom deras hals.
8 Like them are those that make them, every one that trusteth in them.
De som sådana göra, äro likaså, alle de som hoppas uppå dem.
9 O Israel, trust thou in the Lord—he is their help and their shield.
Men Israel hoppes uppå Herran; han är deras hjelp och sköld.
10 O house of Aaron, trust ye in the Lord—he is their help and their shield.
Aarons hus hoppes uppå Herran; han är deras hjelp och sköld.
11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust ye in the Lord—he is their help and their shield.
De der Herran frukta, hoppes ock uppå Herran; han är deras hjelp och sköld.
12 The Lord hath even been mindful of us, he will bless [us]; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron;
Herren tänker uppå oss, och välsignar oss; han välsignar Israels hus, han välsignar Aarons hus.
13 He will bless those that fear the Lord, the small together with the great.
Han välsignar dem som frukta Herran, både små och stora.
14 May the Lord increase you more and more, you and your children.
Herren välsigne eder, ju mer och mer, eder och edor barn.
15 Blessed are ye of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
I ären Herrans välsignade, den himmel och jord gjort hafver.
16 The heavens are the heavens of the Lord; but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
Himmelen allt omkring är Herrans; men jordena hafver han gifvit menniskors barnom.
17 Not the dead can praise the Lord, nor all those that go down into the silence [of death].
De döde kunna dig, Herre, intet lofva; ej heller de som nederfara i det stilla;
18 But as for us, we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Hallelujah.
Utan vi lofve Herran, ifrå nu och i evighet. Halleluja.
