Psalms 114

1 When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of a strange language:

Коли Ізраїль виходив з Єгипту, Яків від народу чужоземного,

2 Judah became his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion.

тоді Юда став Його святинею, Ізраїль – Його володінням.

3 The sea beheld it, and fled: the Jordan was driven backward.

Море побачило [це] й кинулося навтіки, Йордан повернувся назад.

4 The mountains skipped like wethers, the hills like lambs.

Гори скакали, немов барани, пагорби – наче ягнята.

5 What aileth thee, O sea, that thou fleest? thou, O Jordan, that thou art driven backward?

Що з тобою, море, що ти втікаєш, і з тобою, Йордане, що ти назад повертаєшся?

6 Ye mountains, that ye skip like wethers? ye hills, like lambs?

Що це ви, гори, скакаєте, як барани, і ви, пагорби, – немов ягнята?

7 At the presence of the Lord tremble, O earth, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

Тремти, земле, перед Володарем, перед Богом Якова,

8 Who changeth the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of water.

Який перетворює скелю на водойму, кремінь – на джерело води.
