< Psalms 114 >

1 When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of a strange language:
Ko je Izrael odšel iz Egipta, hiša Jakobova od ljudi tujega jezika,
2 Judah became his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion.
je bil Juda njegovo svetišče in Izrael njegovo gospostvo.
3 The sea beheld it, and fled: the Jordan was driven backward.
Morje je to videlo in pobegnilo; Jordan je bil gnan nazaj.
4 The mountains skipped like wethers, the hills like lambs.
Gore so poskakovale kakor ovni in majhni hribi kakor jagnjeta.
5 What aileth thee, O sea, that thou fleest? thou, O Jordan, that thou art driven backward?
Kaj ti je bilo, oh ti morje, da bežiš? Ti Jordan, da si bil gnan nazaj?
6 Ye mountains, that ye skip like wethers? ye hills, like lambs?
Ve gore, da ste poskakovale kakor ovni in vi majhni hribi kakor jagnjeta?
7 At the presence of the Lord tremble, O earth, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
Trepetaj, ti zemlja, ob Gospodovi prisotnosti, ob prisotnosti Jakobovega Boga,
8 Who changeth the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of water.
ki je skalo spremenil v stoječo vodo, kremen v studenec vodá.
