Psalms 111

1 Hallelujah. I will thank the Lord with all [my] heart, in the council of the upright, and in the congregation.

Halleluja. Jag tackar Herranom af allo hjerta, uti de frommas råd, och i församlingene.

2 Great are the works of the Lord, they are sought for [by them] in all their desires.

Store äro Herrans verk; den som uppå dem aktar, hafver lust deraf.

3 Glorious and majestic is his doing, and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Hvad han skickar, det är lofligit och härligit, och hans rättfärdighet blifver evinnerliga.

4 He hath made a memorial for his wonderful works: gracious and merciful is the Lord.

Han hafver gjort en åminnelse till sina under, den nådelige och barmhertige Herren.

5 He hath given sustenance unto those that fear him: he will for ever be mindful of his covenant.

Han gifver mat dem som frukta honom; han tänker evinnerliga uppå sitt förbund.

6 The power of his works hath he told unto his people, that he might give them the heritage of nations.

Han låter förkunna små väldiga gerningar sino folke, att han skall gifva dem Hedningarnas arf.

7 The works of his hands are truth and justice: faultless are all his precepts.

Hans händers verk äro sanning och rätt; all hans bud äro rättsinnige.

8 They are well supported for ever and eternally: they are framed in truth and uprightness.

De blifva vid magt alltid och evinnerliga, och ske troliga och redeliga.

9 Redemption hath he sent unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and to be feared is his name.

Han sänder sino folke förlossning; han lofvar, att hans förbund skall evinnerliga blifva; heligt och förskräckeligit är hans Namn.

10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord; a good understanding have all that fulfill [his commandments]: his praise endureth for ever.

Herrans fruktan är vishetenes begynnelse; det är ett godt förstånd, den derefter gör; hans lof blifver evinnerliga.
