< Psalms 111 >
1 Hallelujah. I will thank the Lord with all [my] heart, in the council of the upright, and in the congregation.
Alleluia! ALEPH. Je veux louer Yahweh de tout mon cœur, BETH. dans la réunion des justes et dans l’assemblée.
2 Great are the works of the Lord, they are sought for [by them] in all their desires.
Grandes sont les œuvres de Yahweh, DALETH. recherchées pour toutes les délices qu’elles procurent.
3 Glorious and majestic is his doing, and his righteousness endureth for ever.
Son œuvre n’est que splendeur et magnificence, VAV. et sa justice subsiste à jamais.
4 He hath made a memorial for his wonderful works: gracious and merciful is the Lord.
il a laissé un souvenir de ses merveilles; HETH. Yahweh est miséricordieux et compatissant.
5 He hath given sustenance unto those that fear him: he will for ever be mindful of his covenant.
Il a donné une nourriture à ceux qui le craignent; YOD. il se souvient pour toujours de son alliance.
6 The power of his works hath he told unto his people, that he might give them the heritage of nations.
Il a manifesté à son peuple la puissance de ses œuvres, LAMED. en lui livrant l’héritage des nations.
7 The works of his hands are truth and justice: faultless are all his precepts.
Les œuvres de ses mains sont vérité et justice, NUN. tous ses commandements sont immuables,
8 They are well supported for ever and eternally: they are framed in truth and uprightness.
affermis pour l’éternité, AÏN. faits selon la vérité et la droiture.
9 Redemption hath he sent unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and to be feared is his name.
Il a envoyé la délivrance à son peuple, TSADÉ. il a établi pour toujours son alliance; QOPH. son nom est saint et redoutable.
10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord; a good understanding have all that fulfill [his commandments]: his praise endureth for ever.
La crainte de Yahweh est le commencement de la sagesse; SCHIN. ceux-là sont vraiment intelligents, qui observent sa loi. THAV. Sa louange demeure à jamais.
