Psalms 111

1 Hallelujah. I will thank the Lord with all [my] heart, in the council of the upright, and in the congregation.

Halleluja! jeg takker HERREN af hele mit Hjerte i Oprigtiges Kreds og Menighed!

2 Great are the works of the Lord, they are sought for [by them] in all their desires.

Store er HERRENS Gerninger, gennemtænkte til Bunds.

3 Glorious and majestic is his doing, and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Hans Værk er Højhed og Herlighed, hans Retfærd bliver til evig Tid.

4 He hath made a memorial for his wonderful works: gracious and merciful is the Lord.

Han har sørget for, at hans Undere mindes, naadig og barmhjertig er HERREN.

5 He hath given sustenance unto those that fear him: he will for ever be mindful of his covenant.

Dem, der frygter ham, giver han Føde, han kommer for evigt sin Pagt i Hu.

6 The power of his works hath he told unto his people, that he might give them the heritage of nations.

Han viste sit Folk sine vældige Gerninger, da han gav dem Folkenes Eje.

7 The works of his hands are truth and justice: faultless are all his precepts.

Hans Hænders Værk er Sandhed og Ret, man kan lide paa alle hans Bud;

8 They are well supported for ever and eternally: they are framed in truth and uprightness.

de staar i al Evighed fast, udført i Sandhed og Retsind.

9 Redemption hath he sent unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and to be feared is his name.

Han sendte sit Folk Udløsning, stifted sin Pagt for evigt. Helligt og frygteligt er hans Navn.

10 The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord; a good understanding have all that fulfill [his commandments]: his praise endureth for ever.

HERRENS Frygt er Visdoms Begyndelse; forstandig er hver, som øver den. Evigt varer hans Pris!
