Psalms 108
1 “A song or psalm of David.” My heart is firm, O God; I will sing and give praise, even with my spirit.
Ein Lied, ein Psalm Davids. Mein Herz ist getrost, o Gott:
2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I will wake up the morning-dawn.
Wacht auf, Harfe und Zither: ich will das Morgenrot wecken!
3 I will give thee thanks among the people, O Lord: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.
Ich will dich preisen unter den Völkern, o HERR, und dir lobsingen unter den Völkerschaften!
4 For great above the heavens is thy kindness, and thy truth reacheth even unto the skies.
Denn groß bis über den Himmel hinaus ist deine Gnade, und bis an die Wolken geht deine Treue.
5 Exalt thyself above the heavens, O God; and above all the earth thy glory.
Erhebe dich über den Himmel hinaus, o Gott, und über die ganze Erde (verbreite sich) deine Herrlichkeit!
6 In order that thy beloved may be delivered: help with thy right hand, and answer me.
Daß deine Geliebten gerettet werden, hilf uns mit deiner Rechten, erhör’ uns!
7 God hath spoken in his holiness: I will exult, I will divide Shechem, and the valley of Succoth will I measure out.
Gott hat in seiner Heiligkeit gesprochen: »(Als Sieger) will ich frohlocken, will Sichem verteilen und das Tal von Sukkoth (als Beutestück) vermessen.
8 Mine id Gil'ad, and mine is Menasseh; Ephraim also is the strong-hold of my head; of Judah are my chiefs.
Mein ist Gilead, mein auch Manasse, und Ephraim ist meines Hauptes Schutzwehr, Juda mein Herrscherstab.
9 Moab is my washpot; upon Edom will I cast my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.
Moab (dagegen) ist mein Waschbecken, auf Edom werf’ ich meinen Schuh; über das Philisterland will (als Sieger) ich jauchzen.«
10 Who will bring me into the fortified city? who will lead me as far as Edom?
Wer führt mich hin zur festen Stadt, wer geleitet mich bis Edom?
11 Behold, it is thou, O God, who hast cast us off; and thou, O God, goest not forth with our armies.
Hast nicht du uns, o Gott, verworfen und ziehst nicht aus, o Gott, mit unsern Heeren?
12 Give us help against the assailant; for vain is the help of man.
O schaffe uns Hilfe gegen den Feind! Denn nichtig ist Menschenhilfe.
13 Through God shall we do valiantly; for he it is that will tread down our adversaries.
Mit Gott werden wir Taten vollführen, und er wird unsre Bedränger zertreten.
