Psalms 102
1 “A prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out before the Lord his complaint.” O Lord, hear my prayer, and let my cry come unto thee.
Prière de l'affligé étant dans l'angoisse, et répandant sa plainte devant l'Eternel. Eternel! écoute ma prière, et que mon cri vienne jusqu’à toi.
2 Hide not thy face from me on the day when I am distressed; incline unto me thy ear; on the day when I call, answer me speedily.
Ne cache point ta face arrière de moi; au jour que je suis en détresse, prête l'oreille à ma requête; au jour que je t'invoque, hâte-toi, réponds-moi.
3 For my days vanish in smoke, and my bones are burning like a hearth.
Car mes jours se sont évanouis comme la fumée, et mes os sont desséchés comme un foyer.
4 Struck [by heat] like the herb and dried up is my heart; for I forget to eat my bread.
Mon cœur a été frappé, et est devenu sec comme l'herbe, parce que j'ai oublié de manger mon pain.
5 Because of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my flesh.
Mes os sont attachés à ma chair, à cause de la voix de mon gémissement.
6 I am like the pelican of the wilderness: I am become like the owl amid ruins.
Je suis devenu semblable au cormoran du désert; et je suis comme la chouette des lieux sauvages.
7 I watch, and I am become like a [night-]bird sitting alone upon the housetop.
Je veille, et je suis semblable au passereau, qui est seul sur le toit.
8 All the day my enemies reproach me: they that mock me swear by me.
Mes ennemis me disent tous les jours des outrages, et ceux qui sont furieux contre moi, jurent contre moi.
9 For ashes do I eat like bread, and my drink I mingle with weeping;
Parce que j'ai mangé la cendre comme le pain, et que j'ai mêlé ma boisson de pleurs.
10 Because of thy indignation and thy wrath; for thou hadst lifted me up, and hast cast me down.
A cause de ta colère et de ton indignation: parce qu'après m'avoir élevé bien haut, tu m'as jeté par terre.
11 My days are like a shadow that declineth; and like the herb I wither.
Mes jours sont comme l'ombre qui décline, et je deviens sec comme l'herbe.
12 But thou, O Lord, wilt sit enthroned for ever; and thy memorial is unto all generations.
Mais toi, ô Eternel! tu demeures éternellement, et ta mémoire est d'âge en âge.
13 Thou wilt indeed arise; thou wilt have mercy upon Zion; for it is time to favor her, for the appointed time is coming.
Tu te lèveras, [et] tu auras compassion de Sion; car il est temps d'en avoir pitié, parce que le temps assigné est échu.
14 For thy servants hold dear her stones, and her very dust they cherish.
Car tes serviteurs sont affectionnés à ses pierres, et ont pitié de sa poudre.
15 Then shall nations fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory:
Alors les nations redouteront le Nom de l’Eternel, et tous les Rois de la terre, ta gloire.
16 When the Lord shalt have built up Zion, he appeareth in his glory;
Quand l'Eternel aura édifié Sion; quand il aura été vu en sa gloire;
17 [When] he hath regarded the prayer of the forsaken, and doth not despise their prayer.
Quand il aura eu égard à la prière du désolé, et qu'il n'aura point méprisé leur supplication.
18 This shall be written down for the latest generation; and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.
Cela sera enregistré pour la génération à venir, le peuple qui sera créé louera l'Eternel,
19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; the Lord hath cast from heaven his view to the earth:
De ce qu'il aura jeté la vue du haut lieu de sa sainteté, et que l'Eternel aura regardé des cieux en la terre,
20 To hear the sighing of the prisoner; to loosen those that are doomed to death:
Pour entendre le gémissement des prisonniers, [et] pour délier ceux qui étaient dévoués à la mort;
21 That men may proclaim in Zion the name of the Lord, and his praise in Jerusalem;
Afin qu'on annonce le Nom de l’Eternel dans Sion, et sa louange dans Jérusalem;
22 When people are gathered together, and kingdoms, to serve the Lord.—
Quand les peuples se seront joints ensemble et les Royaumes aussi, pour servir l'Eternel.
23 He hath weakened on the way my strength; he hath shortened my days.
Il a abattu ma force en chemin, il a abrégé mes jours.
24 I will say, O my God! take me not away in the midst of my days: throughout all generations are thy years.
J'ai dit: mon Dieu, ne m'enlève point au milieu de mes jours! Tes ans [durent] d'âge en âge.
25 In olden times didst thou lay the foundations of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
Tu as jadis fondé la terre, et les cieux sont l'ouvrage de tes mains.
26 These will indeed perish, but thou wilt ever exist: yea, all of them will wear out like a garment; as a vesture wilt thou change them, and they will be changed;
Ils périront, mais tu seras permanent, et eux tous s'envieilliront comme un vêtement; tu les changeras comme un habit, et ils seront changés.
27 But thou art ever the same, and thy years will have no end.
Mais toi, [tu es toujours] le même; et tes ans ne seront jamais achevés.
28 The children of thy servants will dwell [securely], and their seed will be firmly established before thee.
Les enfants de tes serviteurs habiteront [près de toi], et leur race sera établie devant toi.
