Proverbs 22
1 A good name is preferable to abundant riches, and good grace, to silver and to gold.
၁ကောင်းသောအသရေကို များစွာသော ဥစ္စာ ထက်သာ၍ ရွေးစရာကောင်း၏။ သူတပါးစုံမက်ခြင်း ကျေးဇူးသည် ရွှေငွေထက်သာ၍ ကောင်း၏။
2 The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker them all.
၂ငွေရတတ်သောသူနှင့် ဆင်းရဲသောသူတို့သည် တွေ့ကြံကြ၏။ ထိုသူအပေါင်းတို့ကို ထာဝရဘုရား ဖန်ဆင်းတော်မူ၏။
3 The prudent foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
၃သမ္မာသတိရှိသောသူသည် အမှုကိုမြော်မြင်၍ ပုန်းနေတတ်၏။ ဥာဏ်တိမ်သောသူမူကား၊ အစဉ် အတိုင်းသွား၍ အမှုနှင့်တွေ့တတ်၏။
4 The reward of humility [and] the fear of the Lord are riches and honor, and life.
၄စိတ်နှိမ့်ချခြင်း၊ ထာဝရဘုရားကို ကြောက်ရွံ့ ခြင်းကျေးဇူးကြောင့် စည်းစိမ်၊ ဂုဏ်အသရေ၊ အသက်ကို ရတတ်၏။
5 Thorns and snares are on the way of a perverse man: he that doth guard his soul will keep far from them.
၅သဘောကောက်သောလူ သွားရာလမ်း၌၊ ဆူး ပင်များနှင့် ကျော့ကွင်းများရှိတတ်၏။ မိမိစိတ်ဝိညာဉ်ကို စောင့်ရှောက်သောသူမူကား ဝေးစွာ ရှောင်သွားလိမ့်မည်။
6 Train up the lad in accordance with his course: even when he groweth old, will he not depart from it.
၆သူငယ်သွားရာလမ်းဝ၌ ဆုံးမသွန်သင်လော့။ သို့ပြုလျှင် သူသည်အိုသောအခါ ထိုလမ်းမှမလွှဲ၊ လိုက် သွားလိမ့်မည်။
7 A rich man ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the man that lendeth.
၇ငွေရတတ်သော သူသည်ဆင်းရဲသောသူကို အစိုးရ၏။ ချေးငှါးယူသော သူသည်ချေးငှါးပေးသောသူ၌ ကျွန်ဖြစ်၏။
8 He that soweth injustice will reap wrong-doing; and the rod of God's wrath will not fail.
၈ဒုစရိုက်မျိုးစေ့ကို ကြဲသောသူသည် ဒုက္ခစပါးကို ရိတ်ရမည်။ ဒေါသစိတ်ရှိ၍ ဒဏ်ပေးနိုင်သော တန်ခိုး လည်း ပျောက်လိမ့်မည်။
9 A man of a benevolent eye will indeed be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
၉ကရုဏာမျက်စိရှိသောသူသည် ဆင်းရဲသော သူတို့ကိုကျွေးသောကြောင့် မင်္ဂလာရှိလိမ့်မည်။ ရန်တွေ့ ခြင်းနှင့်ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းလည်း ငြိမ်းလိမ့်မည်။
10 Drive away the scorner, and strife will go off; and then will cease contention and dishonor.
၁၀မထီမဲ့မြင်ပြုသောသူကိုနှင်ထုတ်လော့။ သို့ပြု လျှင် ရန်မာန်လည်း ထွက်သွားလိမ့်မည်။ ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းနှင့် ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းလည်း ငြိမ်းလိမ့်မည်။
11 He that loveth with a pure heart, and hath grace on his lips, will have the king as his friend.
၁၁စိတ်နှလုံးဖြူစင်ခြင်းကို နှစ်သက်သောသူသည် လျောက်ပတ်သောစကားကို ပြောတတ်၍၊ ရှင်ဘုရင်နှင့် မိတ်ဆွေဖွဲ့ရလိမ့်မည်။
12 The eyes of the Lord guard knowledge, and he overturneth the words of the treacherous.
၁၂ထာဝရဘုရား၏ မျက်စိတော်သည် ပညာ အတတ်ကို စောင့်၏။ ပြစ်မှားသောသူ၏စကားကိုကား ချေတော်မူ၏။
13 The slothful saith, There is a lion without, in the midst of the streets shall I be murdered.
၁၃ပျင်းရိသောသူက၊ အိမ်ပြင်မှာခြင်္သေ့ရှိ၏။ လမ်း သို့ ထွက်လျှင် ငါသေလိမ့်မည်ဟု ဆိုတတ်၏။
14 A deep pit is the mouth of adulterous women: he that hath obtained the indignation of the Lord will fall thereinto.
၁၄အမျိုးပျက်သော မိန်းမ၏နှုတ်သည် နက်သော မြေတွင်းဖြစ်၏။ ထာဝရဘုရားစက်ဆုပ်ရွံရှာတော်မူ သော သူသည်ထိုမြေတွင်းထဲသို့ ကျလိမ့်မည်။
15 When folly is bound fast to the heart of a lad, the rod of correction must remove it far from him.
၁၅မိုက်သောသဘောသည် သူငယ်၏ စိတ်နှလုံး ထဲမှာ ထုပ်ထားလျက်ရှိ၏။ သို့သော်လည်း၊ ဆုံးမသော ကြိမ်လုံးသည် ထိုသဘောကို ဝေးစွာ နှင်တတ်၏။
16 He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, [must at length] give to the rich, and come only to want.
၁၆ကိုယ်စီးပွါးအဘို့ ဆင်းရဲသားတို့ကို ညှဉ်းဆဲ သောသူနှင့်၊ ငွေရတတ်သော သူတို့အား ပေးသောသူ သည် ဆင်းရဲခြင်းသို့ အမှန်ရောက်လိမ့်မည်။
17 Incline thy ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thy heart unto my knowledge.
၁၇သင်၏နားကိုညွှတ်၍ ပညာရှိစကားကို နား ထောင်လော့။ ငါ့ပညာအတတ်ကိုလည်း စိတ်နှလုံး၌ စွဲလမ်းလော့။
18 For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thy bosom, if they be altogether firmly seated upon thy lips.
၁၈သင်၏နှလုံး၌ သွင်းမိနိုင်လျှင် သာယာသော အကျိုးရှိလိမ့်မည်။ သင်၏နှုတ်၌လည်း အစဉ်အသင့်ရှိ လိမ့်မည်။
19 That thy trust may be in the Lord, have I made them known to thee this day, yea, even to thee.
၁၉သင်သည်ထာဝရဘုရား၌ ခိုလှုံမည်အကြောင်း၊ သင့်ကိုယ်တိုင် ကိုယနေ့ငါသွန်သင်၏။
20 Have not I written for thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
၂၀သင်သည် သမ္မာတရားစကားစစ်ကိုသိမည် အကြောင်းနှင့်၊ သင့်ထံသို့ စေလွှတ်သောသူတို့အား၊ သမ္မာ စကားကို ပြန်ပြောနိုင်မည်အကြောင်း သတိပေးလျက်၊ ပညာအတတ်ကို ပြသလျက်၊ ထူးဆန်းသော အရာတို့ကို ငါရေး၍ ပေးလိုက်သည်မဟုတ်လော။
21 That I might make thee know rectitude, the sayings of truth; that thou mightest bring back answers of truth to those that send thee?
၂၁
22 Rob not the poor, because he is poor, neither crush the afflicted in the gate;
၂၂ဆင်းရဲသောသူ၏ဆင်းရဲကိုထောက်၍၊ သူ၏ ဥစ္စာကို မလုမယူနှင့်။ ဒုက္ခိတသတ္တဝါကို မြို့တံခါးဝ၌ မညှဉ်းဆဲနှင့်။
23 For the Lord will plead their cause, and despoil the life of those that despoil them.
၂၃အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထာဝရဘုရားသည် သူတို့ အမှုကို စောင့်တော်မူမည်။ သူတို့ဥစ္စာကို လုယူသော သူတို့၏ အသက်ကို လုယူတော်မူမည်။
24 Make no friendship with a man given to anger; and with a man of fury thou must have no intercourse:
၂၄စိတ်တိုသောသူကို မိတ်ဆွေမဖွဲ့နှင့်။ အမျက် ပြင်းထန်သော သူနှင့် အတူမလိုက်နှင့်။
25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare for thy own soul.
၂၅လိုက်လျှင် သူ၏ထုံးစံဓလေ့တို့ကိုသင်၍၊ ကိုယ် အသက်ကျော့မိရာဖြစ်လိမ့်မည်။
26 Be not one of those that pledge their hand, or of those that are sureties for debts.
၂၆လက်ဝါးချင်းရိုက်သောလူစုနှင့် သူ့ကြွေးကို အာမခံသော လူစုထဲသို့ မဝင်နှင့်။ သင်၌ပေးရန်မရှိလျှင်၊ သင့်အိပ်ရာကို အဘယ်ကြောင့် ယူသွားစေချင်သနည်း။
27 If thou have nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?
၂၇
28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have established.
၂၈ဘိုးဘေးစိုက်ဘူးသော မြေမှတ်တိုင်တို့ကို မရွှေ့ နှင့်။
29 Seest thou a man that is diligent in his work? before kings may he place himself: let him not place himself before obscure men.
၂၉ဆောင်ရွက်စရာအမှုကိုကြိုးစား၍ ပြီးစီးစေ တတ်သောသူရှိသလော။ ထိုသူသည် သာမညလူ၏ အမှုကို မဆောင်ရွက်၊ ရှင်ဘုရင်၏ အမှုတော်ကို ဆောင် ရွက်၏။
