1 Like brooks of water is a king's heart in the hand of the Lord: whithersoever it pleaseth him doth he turn it.

2 Every way of a man is straight in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the hearts.

3 To exercise righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

4 Haughtiness of the eyes, and an immoderate heart, are the sinful field of the wicked.
Mik dongkah buhuengpomnah neh lungbuei a mungkung he halang rhoek kah tholhnah hmaithoi ni.
5 The plans of the diligent tend only to plenty; but every hasty man is [destined] only to want.
Bi haam kah kopoek tah kumkonah la om yoeyah tih, aka cukhat boeih khaw tloelnah la om yoeyah.
6 The getting of treasures by a tongue of falsehood is like the fleeting breath of those that seek death.
A hong ol lamkah bisai neh thakvoh tah ahonghi la huu tih, dueknah ni kang a toem coeng.
7 The robbery of the wicked will drag them away; because they refuse to execute justice.
Halang loh a tiktam la saii ham a aal dongah, amamih kah a rhoelrhanah loh amamih a hmuh bitni.
8 Perverse is the way of the man that is estranged [from goodness]; but as for the pure, his work is upright.
A ko aka boi hlang kah longpuei tah kawn dae, aka cil tah a bisai a thuem pah.
9 It is better to dwell in a corner of a roof, than with a quarrelsome woman in a roomy house.
Hohmuhnah la aka om yuu neh hoilh aka khueh kah im lakah tah, imphu bangkil ah khosak te then ngai.
10 The soul of the wicked longeth for evil: his neighbor findeth no grace in his eyes.
Halang kah a hinglu long tah boethae a ngaidam tih, a mikhmuh kah a hui te khaw rhen pawh.
11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is taught intelligence, he receiveth knowledge.
Hmuiyoi loh lai a sah vaengah hlangyoe khaw cueih tih, a cueih hamla a cangbam vaengah mingnah khaw a dang.
12 The righteous regardeth attentively the house of the wicked; [but God] overturneth the wicked into unhappiness.
Hlang dueng long tah halang imkhui khaw a cangbam mai dae, halang rhoek long tah a thae la a paimaelh.
13 Whoso stoppeth his ears against the cry of the poor, he also will cry himself, but shall not be answered.
Tattloel kah a doek te a hna aka buem thil tah, amah a pang van vaengah doo uh mahpawh.
14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger, and a bribe in the bosom, strong fury.
A huephael kah kutdoe loh thintoek, a rhang dongkah kapbaih loh kosi aka tlung te a daeh sak.
15 It is joy to the righteous to execute justice; but it is a terror to wrong-doers.
Hlang dueng hamtah tah a tiktamnah a saii te kohoenah la om tih, boethae aka saii rhoek ham tah porhaknah la om.
16 The man that wandereth astray out of the way of intelligence shall rest in the assembly of the departed.
Hlang aka cangbam kah longpuei lamloh kho aka hmang hlang tah, sairhai kah hlangping lakli ah duem.
17 He that loveth pleasure will be a man of want: he that loveth wine and oil will not become rich.
Kohoenah aka lungnah aih khaw hlang kah a tloelnah la poeh tih, misurtui neh situi aka lungnah khaw boei mahpawh.
18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the treacherous shall be put in the stead of the upright.
Halang te hlang dueng ham, hnukpoh te aka thuem ham tlansum la om.
19 It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a quarrelsome and vexatious woman.
Hohmuhnah, konoinah neh yuu taengah olpungkacan la om lakah tah, khosoek khohmuen ah khosak he then ngai.
20 There are a desirable treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man will swallow it up.
Hlang cueih tolkhoeng kah thakvoh neh situi tah a naikap dae, hlang ang long tah te te a yoop.
21 He that pursueth righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.
Duengnah neh sitlohnah aka hloem long tah, duengnah neh thangpomnah dongkah hingnah te a dang ni.
22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength in which they trusted.
Hlangrhalh rhoek kah khopuei te hlang cueih pakhat long ni a paan tih, a sarhi la a pangtungnah uh khaw a phil pah.
23 Whoso guardeth his mouth and his tongue guardeth his soul against distresses.
A ol a ka aka tuem long tah, a hinglu te citcai khui lamkah a hoep a tlang.
24 The presumptuous and proud, scorner is his name, dealeth in the wrath of presumption.
Thinlen, moemlal, a ming ah hmuiyoi long tah, thinpom althanah neh a saii.
25 The longing of the slothful will kill him; for his hands refuse to labor.
A kut loh a saii ham a aal dongah kolhnaw kah hoehhamnah loh amah a duek sak ni.
26 All the day he feeleth a great longing; but the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.
Hnin takuem ah hoehhamnah te a ngaidam dae, aka dueng long tah a paek phoeiah khaw a hnaih moneih.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a sinful purpose?
Halang kah hmueih he tueilaehkoi ti bal vaengah, khonuen rhamtat la a khuen bal pueng.
28 A lying witness shall perish; but the man that is obedient [to the law] can speak for ever.
Laithae kah laipai tah paltham vetih, aka hnatun hlang long ni a thui yoeyah eh.
29 A wicked man showeth impudence in his face; but as for the upright, he will consider well his way.
Halang loh a mikhmuh dawk neh hlang a tanglue sak. Tedae aka thuem long tah a long, long ah a rhuep tih a yakming.
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.
BOEIPA aka tlai thil thai cueihnah khaw om pawh, lungcuei khaw om pawh, cilsuep khaw om thai pawh.
31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle; but with the Lord is the victory.
Marhang khaw caemtloek hnin kah ham a tawn coeng dae, BOEIPA daengah ni loeihnah a dang.
