< Proverbs 20 >

1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is noisy; and whosoever indulgeth therein will never be wise.
Nowa da adini bagade nasea, e da feloale gegesu hou amola wadela: le sia: su hou bagade hamosa. Nowa dunu e adini bagadewane ba: sea, ea hou da gagaoui dunu agoai gala.
2 Like the roaring of a young lion is the dread of a king: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
Di da laione wa: me amo da gegesenebe ema beda: i amo defele ougi bagade hina bagadema beda: mu da defea. Di da hina bagade ougima: ne hamosea, amo hou da di gobele fane legesu hou defele.
3 It is an honor for a man to cease from a contest; but every fool enrageth himself.
Gagaoui dunu huluane da sia: ga gegesu hou musu dawa: Be sia: ga gegesu amo yolesimu da hou noga: idafa.
4 Because it is winter's cold, will the sluggard not plough: when he therefore seeketh in the harvest time, there will be nothing.
Bugili nasu dunu da hihi dabuli aligiba: le ea osobo gidinasu i amoga osobo hame gidinasea, e da fa: no ha: i manu dadamimu hame ba: mu.
5 Like deep water is counsel in the heart of man; but the man of understanding will draw it out.
Osobo bagade dunu ilia asigi dawa: su da hano nasu ulidou amo ganodini diala agoane gala. Be bagade dawa: su dunu da asigi dawa: su hiougili gadosu dawa:
6 Most men will proclaim every one his own kindness; but who can find a faithful man?
Dunu bagohame da ilia mae fisili fuligala: su hou fawane hamonana, ilia udigili sia: sa. Be moloidafa fuligala: su dunu amo di da hogoi helele, hame ba: mu.
7 The righteous walketh in his integrity: happy will be his children after him.
Nowa mano ilia eda da moloidafa hou fawane hamosea, da hahawane esala.
8 A king that sitteth on the throne of justice scattereth away with his eyes all evil.
Hina bagade e da dunu enoma fofada: sea, e da wadela: i hou ba: sea, amo ea bai hedolo dawa: sa.
9 Who can say, I have made my heart pure, I am cleansed from my sin.
Dunu afaega, “Na da wadela: i hou hamedafa hamosu,” amane sia: mu da hamedei.
10 Divers weights, and divers measures, are both of them alike an abomination of the Lord.
Hina Gode da nowa dunu da dioi ba: su amola defei ba: su liligi amo ogogole hamosea, ilima higa: i hodosa.
11 Even a child maketh himself known by his doings, whether his work will be pure, and whether it will be upright.
Dunu huluane amola mano ilia hamobe ba: sea, eno dunu da ilia houdafa dawa: mu. Ilia da moloidafa amola noga: iwane hamosea, dunu eno da ilia houdafa da noga: i hedolo dawa: mu.
12 The ear that heareth, and the eye that seeth, the Lord hath made both of them alike.
Hina Gode e da ninima si amoga nini da ba: ma: ne amola ge amoga nini da nabima: ne, amo ninima i dagoi.
13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty: open thy eyes, so wilt thou be satisfied with bread.
Di da eso huluane golai dialea, di da hame gagui agoai esalumu. Di eso huluane hawa: hamosea, ha: i manu bagade ba: mu.
14 It is bad, it is bad, saith the buyer; but when he is gone his way, then doth he boast.
Liligi lala masu dunu da liligi ligisisu liligi amo muni bagade ba: sea, da: i dione egasa. Be amomane, ea asili, muni fonobahadi fawane amoga lai, e da hidale sia: sa.
15 There is gold, and a multitude of pearls; but a precious vessel are the lips of knowledge.
Nowa da hi sia: dasu amo ea bai noga: le dawa: sea, amo hou da moloidafa amola gouli amola silifa ea lasu defei baligisa.
16 Take away his garment, because he hath become surety for a stranger; and on account of a strange woman take a pledge from him.
Degabo ba: i dunu da liligi bidi lale, bidi mae iawane fa: no imunu sia: sea, be eno dunu da amo dunu ea fa: no imunu bidi, amo hi da wali imunu sia: sea, e da gagoule agoane hamosa. Amola degabo ba: i dunu da bidi bu hame iasea, bidi iasu dunu da gagaoui dunu amo ea soge lamu da defea.
17 Bread of falsehood is pleasant to a man; but afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel-stones.
Ha: i manu wamolale lai da hedaidafa gala. Be fa: no wamolasu dunu ea lafi da sa: i boso amoga nabai defele ba: mu.
18 Plans are established by counsel; and with wise reflection conduct war.
Mae ilegele, udigili gegemusa: mae masa. Hidadea fada: i sia: ne iasu nabasea, didi ba: mu.
19 He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that enticeth with his lips.
Baligiduli sia: su dunu da sia: wamolegemu hame dawa: Sia: bagade sia: dabe dunu ilima mae gilisima.
20 Whoso curseth his father or his mother—his lamp shall be quenched in obscure darkness.
Dia ada amola ame ela aligima: ne gagabusia, di da gamali amo da gasia ea digagala: i haba: dosu defele bogomu.
21 An inheritance hastily gotten at the beginning will at its end not be blessed,
Dia muni asabole lasea, amo muni da fa: no agoane dia esalusu bagade hame fidimu.
22 Do not say, I will recompense evil; [but] wait on the Lord, and he will help thee.
Dunu da dima wadela: le hamosea, dia disu dabe mae ima. Di Hina Godema dafawaneyale dawa: sea, Hi fawane da amo hou hahamomu.
23 Divers weights are an abomination of the Lord; and a deceitful balance is not good.
Hina Gode da nowa dunu da dioi ba: su amola defei ba: su liligi amo ogogole hamosea, ilima higa: i hodosa.
24 From the Lord are the steps of man [ordained]; but man— how can he understand his own way?
Nowa dunu da hina: esalusu logo ahoabe dawa: bela: ? E da hame dawa: Be Hina Gode Hifawane da ninia esalusu logo huluane ilegei dagoi.
25 It is a snare to a man to sanctify things hastily, and to make inquiry only after having made vows.
Noga: le dadawa: lalu, Godema imunusa: ilegele sia: ma. Di da fa: no da: i diosa: besa: le, hedolo mae sia: ma.
26 A wise king scattereth the wicked, and turneth over them the threshing-wheel.
Bagade dawa: su hina bagade dunu da wadela: i hamosu dunu hogole ba: mu. Amasea, e da ema mae asigili se imunu.
27 A lamp of the Lord is the soul of man, searching all the inner chambers of the body.
Hina Gode da hadigi gamali agoane, ninia asigi dawa: su amola a: silibu ganodini, E da ninia hou hogosa.
28 Kindness and truth will watch over a king, and he will prop up through kindness his throne.
Hina bagade dunu da moloiwane amola asigiwane ea hawa: hamosea, e da ode bagohame ea soge ganodini hinawane esalumu.
29 The ornament of young men is their strength; and the glory of old men is a hoary head.
Ninia goi ayeligi ilia gasa amo heawini mageda. Amola asigilai gago aligi dunu ilima nodone nabawane hamosa.
30 The bruises of a wound are cleansing means for the bad, and stripes [will reach] the inner chambers of the body.
