< Proverbs 2 >

1 My son, if thou wouldst but accept my words, and treasure up my commandments with thee;
O anake, naho iantofa’o o fivolakoo vaho akafi’o añ’ova’o ao o lilikoo,
2 To let thy ear listen unto wisdom: [if] thou wouldst incline thy heart to understanding.
naho añilaña’o sofiñe ty hihitse, naho anokilaña’o troke ty hilala,
3 For if thou wilt call after intelligence; if after understanding thou wilt lift up thy voice;
naho kaihe’o ty fitsikarahañe, naho pazahe’o ty faharendrehañe
4 If thou wilt seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures:
naho itsoeha’o hoe volafoty ikodebea’o hoe vara mikafitse:
5 Then wilt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and the knowledge of God wilt thou find.
Le ho rendre’o ty fañeveñañ’ am’ Iehovà vaho hitendreke ty fahafohinañe an’Andrianañahare.
6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [come] knowledge and understanding.
Fa manolo-kihitse t’Iehovà boak’am-palie’e ao ty hilala naho ty faharendrehañe.
7 He treasureth up sound wisdom for the righteous, as a shield to those that walk in integrity:
Añaja’e hihitse maharongatse amo vantañeo, fikalan-dRe amo mpañavelo an-kahitiañeo,
8 That men may keep the paths of justice; and the way of his pious servants doth he guard.
arova’e o lalan-katòo, naho ambena’e ty lala’ o noro’eo.
9 Then wilt thou understand righteousness, and justice, and equity: yea, every track of goodness.
Le ho fohi’o ty havantañañe naho ty hatò, naho ty hamiràñe, vaho ze lalañe soa;
10 For wisdom will enter thy heart, and knowledge will be pleasant unto thy soul;
Hizilik’ añ’ova’o ao ty hihitse, naho hahafale ty tro’o ty hilala;
11 Discretion will watch over thee, understanding will keep thee;
Hañambeñ’ azo ty filieram-batañe, hijilova’ ty faharendrehañe;
12 To deliver thee from the way of the bad, from the man that speaketh perverse things;
hasita’e ami’ty lalan-karatiañe, amy t’indaty mivolam-bìlañe,
13 [From those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
amo miveve boak’ amo lalan-kahitiañeoo, hijarabajaraba amo lalan-kaieñeo,
14 Who rejoice to do evil, who are delighted in the perverseness of the bad;
amo mirebek’ ami’ty hatsivokarañeo, naho mifale ami’ty hamengohan- karatiañeo,
15 Who as regardeth their paths are crooked, and froward in their tracks.
ie mikelokeloke an-dia, vaho miridrike an-dalañe;
16 To deliver thee from the adulteress, from the alien woman that useth flattering speeches;
Hamotsots’azo ami’ty tsimirirañe, ami’ty karapilo mitsiriry an-drehake,
17 That forsaketh the friend of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
i namorintseñe ty valin-katorà’ey, vaho mandikoke i fañinan’ Añahare’ey.
18 For she sinketh unto death—her house, and unto the departed [lead] her tracks.
Migodroñe mb’am-pihomahañe ao ty akiba’e, minday mb’an-kavilasy ao o lala’eo;
19 All that come unto her return not again, and they will not reach the paths of life.
Le lia’e tsy mimpoly ze miheo mb’ama’e ao, tsy ho taka’e ka o lalan-kaveloñeo.
20 In order that thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and observe the paths of the righteous.
Aa le handenà’o ty lala’ o soao, naho hifahara’o o lala’ o vantañeoo.
21 For the upright will dwell on the earth, and the perfect will be left remaining on it.
Fa hitoboke amy taney o vañoñeo, vaho himoneñe ao o malio-tahiñeo;
22 But the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be plucked up therefrom.
Fe haitoañe amy taney o lo-tserekeo, vaho ho voroteñe o mpamañahio.
