< Proverbs 2 >
1 My son, if thou wouldst but accept my words, and treasure up my commandments with thee;
Ka capa, kang thuih ih lok to na tahngaih moe, kang paek ih loknawk palung thungah na pakuem nahaeloe,
2 To let thy ear listen unto wisdom: [if] thou wouldst incline thy heart to understanding.
palunghahaih bangah na naa to patuengh loe, panoekhaih bangah na palung to paek ah;
3 For if thou wilt call after intelligence; if after understanding thou wilt lift up thy voice;
ue, panoekhaih hnuk hanah na hangh, panoek thai hanah tha hoiah na hangh moe,
4 If thou wilt seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures:
sumkanglung pakrong baktiah na pakrong pacoengah, hawk ih hmuen baktiah na pakrong nahaeloe,
5 Then wilt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and the knowledge of God wilt thou find.
Angraeng zithaih to na panoek ueloe, Sithaw palunghahaih to na hnu tih.
6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth [come] knowledge and understanding.
Angraeng mah palunghahaih to paek, palunghahaih hoi panoekhaih loe anih pakha hoiah ni tacawt.
7 He treasureth up sound wisdom for the righteous, as a shield to those that walk in integrity:
Katoeng kaminawk hanah palughahaih to paek moe, toenghaih hoiah lamcaeh kaminawk hanah anih loe abuephaih ah oh.
8 That men may keep the paths of justice; and the way of his pious servants doth he guard.
Katoeng kaminawk caehhaih loklam to anih mah toep moe, oepthok angmah ih kaminawk to pakaa.
9 Then wilt thou understand righteousness, and justice, and equity: yea, every track of goodness.
To tiah ni toenghaih, katoengah lokcaekhaih, kangvan ah lok takroekhaih to na panoek ueloe, kahoih loklamnawk to na panoek tih.
10 For wisdom will enter thy heart, and knowledge will be pleasant unto thy soul;
Palunghahaih mah na palungthin to paongh naah, panoekhaih loe na pakhra anghoesakkung ah om tih.
11 Discretion will watch over thee, understanding will keep thee;
Panoekthaihaih mah na pakaa ueloe, na panoekhaih mah na toep tih;
12 To deliver thee from the way of the bad, from the man that speaketh perverse things;
palunghahaih mah loe toenghaih loklam amkhraeng taak kami, vinghaih thungah caeh kami, kahoih ai kami caehhaih loklam hoi katoengah lokthui ai kami ih ban thung hoiah pahlong tih;
13 [From those] who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Who rejoice to do evil, who are delighted in the perverseness of the bad;
hmuensae sakhaih bangah kanawm panoek moe, kasae kaminawk mah sak ih katoeng ai hmuen ah kanawm acaeng kami,
15 Who as regardeth their paths are crooked, and froward in their tracks.
toenghaih loklam ah caeh ai, loklam kangkoih ah caeh kaminawk ban thung hoiah pahlong ueloe,
16 To deliver thee from the adulteress, from the alien woman that useth flattering speeches;
zaehaih sak koeh nongpata, kami zoek thaih nongpata khae hoiah doeh pahlong tih;
17 That forsaketh the friend of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
to baktih nongpata loe tangla nathuem ah thuitaekhaih lok to pahnawt moe, a Sithaw hmaa ah sak ih lokmaihaih pahnet ving kami ah oh.
18 For she sinketh unto death—her house, and unto the departed [lead] her tracks.
To nongpata ih im loe duekhaih bangah laemh tathuk moe, kadueh kami pakhranawk caehhaih loklam bangah a caeh.
19 All that come unto her return not again, and they will not reach the paths of life.
Anih khaeah caeh kaminawk boih loe, mi doeh amlaem o ai boeh, hinghaih loklam doeh hnu o ai.
20 In order that thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and observe the paths of the righteous.
Nang loe kahoih kaminawk ih loklam to pazui ah loe, katoeng kaminawk ih loklam ah caeh poe ah.
21 For the upright will dwell on the earth, and the perfect will be left remaining on it.
Katoeng kami loe prae thungah khosah ueloe, coek koi om ai kami loe to prae thungah om poe tih,
22 But the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the treacherous shall be plucked up therefrom.
toe kasae kaminawk loe prae thungah om o thai mak ai, zaehaih sah kaminawk loe prae thung hoiah haek o ving tih.
