< Proverbs 17 >
1 Better is a piece of dry bread, and quiet therewith, than a house full of the sacrifices of contention.
Vahe'mo'ma rimpa frune akoheno mani'neno naga'anema osia kave'ma ne'zamo'a, tusi'a ne'zama hafra nehuno kreno ne'zana agatere'ne.
2 An intelligent servant will have rule over a son that bringeth shame, and among the brothers will he have part of the inheritance.
Knare antahi'zane eri'za ne'mo'a, kva'amofo mofavre'mo'ma agaze hu avu'ava'ma hania mofavremofona ugota huno kegava hunte'neno, mofavre'amo'za erisanti haregahaze huzmante'nesafintira erigahie.
3 The crucible is for silver, and the furnace for gold; but the Lord probeth the hearts.
Koline silvanena tevefi kre'za eri agru nehaze. Hianagi Ra Anumzamoke tagu'amofona reheno nege.
4 An evil-doer listeneth to unjust lips: falsehood giveth ear to a tongue that bringeth destruction.
Kefo avu'ava'ene vahe'mo'a, havigema nehazankea nentahie. Hagi tavre vahe'mo'a, vahe'ma azeri haviza hukema hazanke nentahie.
5 Whoso mocketh the poor blasphemeth his Maker: he that is glad at calamities will not remain unpunished.
Amunte omane vahe'ma huhaviza huntesia vahe'mo'a, tro'ma huzmante'nea Ra Anumzamofo huhaviza hunente. Hagi hazenkema erisaza zanku'ma muse hanimo'a, agra'a havi mizana erigahie.
6 The crown of old men are children's children; and the ornament of children are their fathers.
Nenama hu'za ra avuma omesaza vahe'mokizmia, zamagehe'mo'za kini fetorikna zamanuntera hu'nage'za, ra zamagi vahe'mo'za nezamize. Hagi mofavremo'za zamarera zamafana muse huzmantegahaze.
7 High-toned language is not seemly to a worthless fool: and yet much less the language of falsehood to a noble.
Neginagi vahe'mofontera knare ke'ma hu'zamo'a, haviza hu'neanagi, kva ne'mo'ma havigema hu'zamo'a, havizantfa hu'ne.
8 As a precious stone appeareth a bribe in the eyes of him that obtaineth it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.
Mago'mo'ma mago zama erinaku zagoreti'ma maseve'ma amino erisia zamo'a agraragisa kaguvaza huno efore hiankna nehie. Iza'o anazama himo'a maka zampina knare nehie.
9 He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth confident friends.
Iza'o havizama huntesimofoma kefo zama'a atrentesimo'a, amu'nozanifina avesinte avu'avazamo'a, meno vugahie. Hianagi arone'amofo havi avu'avazama'agu hugantigama hanimo'a, knare knampa'a azeri atanegahie.
10 A reproof penetrateth more deeply into a wise man, than a hundred stripes into a fool.
Kemofoma refko huno antahi ankemare vahe'mofona, magoke zupama azeri fatgo hu kema asamisankeno'a antahigahianagi, neginagi vahe'mofoma azeri fatgo hunaku'ma 100'a zupa knona ami'sanana, avu'avara ruzahera osugahie.
11 Only rebellion doth a bad man seek: therefore a cruel messenger will be sent out against him.
Kefo avu'avazane vahe'mo'za, ha'ma erifore hu zankuke zamave'nesiankino, hazenkema zami vahera huntenkeno zamavaririgahie.
12 A man may meet a she-bear robbed of her whelps, but not a fool in his folly.
Anenta'ama kumzafama ase'nesaza beama, mago ne'mo'ma kantegama tutagihama hunte'zamo'a knare hu'neanagi, neginagi vahe'mo'za neginagi zamavu'zamava'ma nehaza vahe'enema tragoteno manizana agatere'ne.
13 Whoso bestoweth evil in return for good—evil shall not depart from his house.
Hagi mago vahe'mo'a knare'zama magamofoma huntesia zanku'ma, nona huno kefozama huntesia vahe'mofona, kefo zamo'a naga'afintira atreno ovutfa hugahie.
14 As one letteth loose [a stream] of water, so is the beginning of strife: therefore before it be enkindled, leave off the contest.
Haframa hu'zamo'ma agafama nehanigeta, koma eri amne osanunkeno'a, ti anagi atregeno ti hageno eankna huno rama'aza eri haviza hugahie.
15 He that declareth the wicked innocent, and he that condemneth the righteous, yea, both of them are equally an abomination to the Lord.
Kefo avu'ava'ma nehia vaheku'ma fatgo vahere nehu'za, fatgo zmavu'avazama nehaza vaheku'ma, kefo vahere hu'zama nehaza tare zamavu'zmavakura, Ra Anumzamo'a agoteno avesra hunezmante.
16 Wherefore is the purchase-money in the hand of a fool to acquire wisdom, seeing he hath no sense?
Neginagi vahe'mo'za knare antahi'zama rempima hu'za eri zamave'sizama omane'nege'za, na'a hige'za avono huzama mizasesaza zagoa zamazampina eri'naze?
17 A friend loveth at all times, and as a brother is he born for [the time of] distress.
Mika zupa knampati'mo'za zamavesirantegahaze. Hagi knazampima taza hanagu tafuhe'mokizmia kasezmante'naze.
18 A man void of sense pledgeth his hand, and becometh surety for his friend.
Knare antahi'zazmima omane vahe'mo'za zamagrazmi huvempa hu'za, tava'ozmire nemani'za vahe'mo'za nofi'ma hu'naza zama ovakanesageta, tagrati vakanezmantegahune hu'za nehaze.
19 He loveth transgression that loveth quarrel; and he that maketh high his door seeketh destruction.
Iza'o ha'frama hu'zankuma avesintemo'a, kumiku ave'nesie. Iza'o agra'a agima erintesgama nehimo'a, hazenke erigahie.
20 He that hath a froward heart will not find happiness; and he that hath a perverse tongue will fall into evil.
Akrehe akrehe agu'ane ne'mo'a, knare zana hakeno erifore osugahie. Hagi iza'o tavre kema nehanimo'a, hazenkefi ufregahie.
21 He that begetteth a fool [doth it] to his sorrow; and the father of a worthless fool cannot have any joy.
Neginagi vahe'mofo nerera nefa'a, tusi'a ataza e'nerie. Higeno nefa rimpamo'a, ana neginagi ne'mofonkura musena osugahie.
22 A merry heart causeth a healthy appearance of the countenance, but a depressed spirit drieth up the bones.
Musema huno mani'zamo'a, tusazamo vahe'ma azeri so'e higeno maniankna nehie. Hianagi vahe'mofo antahi'zamo'ma havizama haniana, havi krimo zaferinafi me'neno azeri haviza hiankna hu'ne.
23 A wicked man taketh a bribe out of the bosom, to pervert the paths of justice.
Kema refkohu tratema kefo ne'mo'ma mani'nesuno'a, keagama eri haviza hinogu oku'a masevema huno amisia zagoa e'nerino, keaga eri rukrahe huno fatgo kantera ontahigosie.
24 Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are at the ends of the earth.
Antahi'zane vahe'mo'a knare antahi'zante avua anteno nevie. Hianagi havi vahe'mofo avumo'a, mopa ataginare ame huno omegege, emegege huno nevie
25 A foolish son is a vexation to his father, and bitterness to her that hath born him.
Neginagi mofavremo'za nezmafana zamasuzana eri nezamie. Hagi kasema ante'nea zamarerahe'ina, zamarimpa zamata erinezamize.
26 To punish the just with a fine even is not good, nor to strike the noble [-hearted] for [their] equity.
Fatgo hu'nesia vahe'ma knazama zamige, knare huno hazenke'a omane kva vahe'ma kanoma ami'zamo'a, haviza hu'ne.
27 He that holdeth back his speeches hath knowledge; and he that is sparing of his spirit is a man of understanding.
Knare antahintahima me'nea vahe'mo'a, rama'a keaga osugahie. Hagi ama' antahi'zama me'nenia ne'mo'a, ame huno rimpagna osugahie.
28 Even a fool, when he keepeth silence, is counted wise: he that shutteth his lips [is esteemed] a man of understanding.
E'ina hu'negu neginagi vahe'mo'ma kema osuno manisia zankura, vahe'mo'za knare antahi'za eri'ne hugahaze.
