< Proverbs 12 >

1 Whoso loveth correction loveth knowledge; but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
Koi hileh kigahna thet lou chun, hetna jong adeijin, min akhou khah ding deiloupa vang chu miching ahipoi.
2 The good obtaineth favor of the Lord; but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
Mipha chun Pakai lunglam atong jin, setna jeng tohgon neipa vang Pakaiyin athetbol jin ahi.
3 A man cannot be firmly established by wickedness; but the root of the righteous will not be moved.
Phatlouna kon in inchen amangthah jin, mi chondih ho vang chu koiman asuh-ling jou lou ding ahi.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but as rottenness in his bones is one that bringeth shame [on him].
Numei pha chu ajipa dinga lallukhuh ahin, jumna le jachatna’a um numei vang ajipa dinga agu achang chip tobang ahi.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are justice: the best counsels of the wicked are deceit.
Midihte tohgon chu adih a tanpeh ding, hinlah, lungthim dihloute thumop vang chu kijoulhepna jeng ahi.
6 The words of the wicked are of lying in wait for blood; but the mouth of the upright will deliver them.
Midihloute kamcheng chu thisan sona ding jeng ahin, midih ho kamcheng vang kihinsona jeng ahi.
7 The wicked are suddenly overthrown, and are no more; but the house of the righteous will endure.
Midihloute chu manthahnan alhut loiji tan, midih ho vang chu ding det cheh cheh diu ahi.
8 In accordance with his intelligence is a man praised; but he that is perverse of heart will come to be despised.
Mihem hi alungdih jal’a pachat changji ahin, mihem lungphalou chu thetbolna achang-jin ahi.
9 Better is he that is lightly esteemed who hath a servant, than he that aimeth after honor, and lacketh bread.
Mi thupitah banga chon a, neh le chah lhahsam sang in, lung lhaisel’a ana-kitohpa aphajon ahi.
10 A righteous man careth for the life of his beast; but the mercies of the wicked are cruelty.
Midih hon agancha jengu jong khohsahna aneijun, midih loutea kon ngailutna vang chu thangsetna ahi.
11 He that tilleth his ground will be satisfied with bread; but he that runneth after idle persons is void of sense.
Mipontho chun agam leiset akhot-a neh ding aki khol ahin, pannabeija thil ngaitoa lhailepan vang ima aneiji pon ahi.
12 The wicked is covetous for the net of evil men; but [God] giveth root to the righteous.
Midihlou in chu mangthah loi ding, midih ho vang chu thingphung phatah in ajung akhodet tobang ahi.
13 In the transgression of his lips is the snare of the wicked; but the righteous cometh out of distress.
Midihlou chu akamsung sohsa aseikhel thucheng achun akipal jin, midih ding in vang gim hesoh akon in ajamdoh jitai.
14 From the fruit of his mouth will a man be satisfied with what is good; and the recompense of a man's hands will be brought back unto him.
Mihem khat chun akam thep-ga anen alungkim jitan, hijeh achu mihem khat in na atoh teng achunga lelhun-ji ahi.
15 The way of a fool is straight in his own eyes; but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
Mingol hon achena chan-u adih jeng in amu-jiuvin, midih vang chun min ahilna angaijin, lam dihlou apeldoh jin ahi.
16 The wrath of the fool is known on the very day; but he that concealeth the disgrace is prudent.
Mingol in alunga adeilou chu aphongdoh paijin, midih vang chun min ahilouva athet bolna jong iman agel jipoi.
17 He that uttereth truth announceth righteousness; but a false witness, deceit.
Midih chun thudih aseiteng kicheh sel’in vetsahna aumjin, jou le nal-a thuseipa vang chun amacham cham in thu aseidoh-jin ahi.
18 There is some one that useth words [which are] like the thrusts of a sword; but the tongue of the wise is healing.
Thu kiti hi, nasatah chemjam banga kidoulal jong aum jin, miching thusei vang chun mihem adamsah-jin ahi.
19 The lip of truth will stand firm for ever; but only for a moment the tongue of falsehood.
Thutahbeh seite kamsung'a kon in, thudih jeng apot in, thujou seite kamsung'a kon vang chu hetman louva manthahna sohji ahi.
20 Deceit is in the heart of those that contrive evil; but for the counsellors of peace there is joy.
Thilphalou gong ho lung sunga thilse jeng dimset in achengin, thilpha jeng ngaito teding in kipana jeng ahi.
21 No wrong can come unawares to the righteous; but the wicked are full of evil.
Midih chunga thilse alhung jipon, miphalou te chunga vang gim le hesohna jeng alhung jin ahi.
22 An abomination of the Lord are lips of falsehood; but they that deal in faithfulness [obtain] his favor.
Jou le nal jeng seiji leigui chu Pakaiyin athet in, thudih'a natong te chunga vang Pakai akipah-jin ahi.
23 A prudent man concealeth [his] knowledge; but the heart of fools proclaimeth [their] folly.
Miching hon achih-nau kiletsahpi louvin aum jiuvin, mingol hon vang angolnau chu aphongjal le-jitauve.
24 The hand of the diligent will bear rule; but the indolent must become tributary.
Lungdih pu-hon akhut’un vai ahom jiuvin, khut chalosah nom lou mihem chu soh-a pang tei ding ahi.
25 If there be care in the heart of man, let him suppress it; and a good word will change it into joy.
Lunggim a umpa chu atahsa agep liu jin, ngailutna thu ajah teng ama chu kipanan adim jitai.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbor; but the way of the wicked leadeth them astray.
Sihnei lang-neina nei lou mihem chun aloi agol ding in thupha jeng aseijin, midihloute vang chu abonchauvin amangthah jitauve.
27 The indolent roasteth not that which he hath caught in hunting; but the most precious wealth of man is diligence.
Natong nom lou chu nehding beija um ding, miching in vang nei le gou nengsel-a asit ding ahi.
28 On the path of righteousness there is life; and on her pathway there is immortality,
Midih lamlhahna chu hinna lampi ahin, lamdih lou chun thina alhut ding ahi.
