Numbers 9
1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the second year after their coming out of the land of Egypt, in the first month, saying,
Le Seigneur parla à Moïse dans le désert de Sinaï, à la seconde année après qu’ils furent sortis de la terre d’Egypte, au premier mois, disant:
2 That the children of Israel shall prepare the passover-lamb at its appointed season.
Que les enfants d’Israël fassent la Pâque en son temps,
3 On the fourteenth day of this month, toward evening, shall ye prepare it at its appointed season: according to all its ordinances, and according to all its prescribed rules, shall ye prepare it.
Au quatorzième jour de ce mois, vers le soir, selon toutes ses cérémonies et ses ordonnances.
4 And Moses spoke unto the children of Israel, that they should prepare the passover-lamb.
Et Moïse ordonna aux enfants d’Israël qu’ils feraient la Pâque.
5 And they prepared the passover-lamb on the fourteenth day of the first month toward evening in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.
Ils la firent en son temps, au quatorzième jour du mois, sur la montagne de Sinaï. Les enfants d’Israël firent selon tout ce qu’avait commandé le Seigneur à Moïse.
6 But there were certain men, who had been defiled by the dead body of a man, and they could not prepare the passover-lamb on that day: and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day.
Or voici que quelques-uns, impurs à cause de l’âme d’un homme, et qui ne pouvaient faire la Pâque en ce jour-là, s’approchant de Moïse et d’Aaron,
7 And these men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore shall we be kept back, so as not to offer the sacrifice of the Lord at its appointed season in the midst of the [other] children of Israel?
Leur dirent: Nous sommes impurs à cause de l’âme d’un homme: pourquoi sommes-nous frustrés de pouvoir offrir l’offrande au Seigneur en son temps parmi les enfants d’Israël?
8 And Moses said unto them, Wait ye, and I will hear what the Lord will command concerning you.
Moïse leur répondit: Attendez que je consulte le Seigneur sur ce qu’il ordonnera de vous.
9 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
10 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man whatever should be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be on a distant journey, among you or your posterity: yet shall he prepare the passover-lamb unto the Lord;
Dis aux enfants d’Israël: Qu’un homme dans votre nation qui sera impur à cause d’une âme, ou en voyage au loin, fasse la Pâque du Seigneur
11 In the second month on the fourteenth day toward evening shall they prepare it, with unleavened bread and bitter herbs shall they eat it.
Au second mois, au quatorzième jour du mois, vers le soir; c’est avec des azymes et des laitues sauvages qu’il la mangera;
12 They shall leave none of it until morning, and no bone shall they break on it: according to the whole ordinance of the passover-lamb shall they prepare it.
Il n’en laissera rien jusque au matin et il n’en rompra point les os: il observera tout le rite de la Pâque.
13 But the man that is clean, and is not on a journey, and forbeareth to prepare the passover-lamb, even that same soul shall be cut off from his people; because the offering of the Lord hath he not brought at its appointed season, his sin shall that man bear.
Mais si quelqu’un est même pur, et n’est point en voyage, et que cependant il ne fasse point la Pâque, cette âme sera exterminée du milieu de ses peuples; parce qu’il n’a pas offert de sacrifice au Seigneur en son temps: il portera lui-même son péché.
14 And if a stranger sojourn among you, and will prepare the passover-lamb unto the Lord: according to the ordinance of the passover-lamb, and according to its prescribed rule, so shall he prepare it; one statute shall be for you, both for the stranger, and for the native born in the land.
Un voyageur aussi et un étranger, s’ils se trouvent chez vous, feront la Pâque du Seigneur selon ses cérémonies et ses ordonnances. Ce sera un précepte parmi vous, tant pour l’étranger que pour l’indigène.
15 And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle of the tent of the testimony: and in the evening there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until morning.
Donc au jour que fut dressé le tabernacle, la nuée le couvrit. Mais depuis le soir, il y eut sur la tente comme une espèce de feu jusqu’au matin.
16 So it used to be always: the cloud covered it [by day], and the appearance of fire by night.
Ainsi arrivait-il toujours: pendant le jour la nuée couvrait le tabernacle, et pendant la nuit, comme une espèce de feu.
17 And as the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that did the children of Israel journey forward: and in the place where the cloud halted, there did the children of Israel encamp.
Et lorsque la nuée qui couvrait le tabernacle était enlevée, les enfants d’Israël partaient; et dans le lieu où elle s’arrêtait, là ils campaient.
18 At the order of the Lord did the children of Israel journey forward, and at the order of the Lord they encamped: all the days that the cloud abode upon the tabernacle did they remain in camp.
Au commandement du Seigneur ils partaient, et à son commandement ils dressaient le tabernacle. Pendant tous les jours que la nuée se tenait sur le tabernacle, ils demeuraient dans le même lieu.
19 And when the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle many days, then did the children of Israel keep the charge of the Lord, and journeyed not forward.
Et s’il arrivait qu’elle demeurât longtemps sur lui, les enfants d’Israël étaient en observation du Seigneur, et partaient pas,
20 And at times it was, that the cloud remained but a few days upon the tabernacle; at the order of the Lord they abode in camp, and at the order of the Lord they journeyed forward.
Autant de jours que la nuée était sur le tabernacle. Au commandement du Seigneur, ils dressaient les tentes, et à son commandement, ils les enlevaient.
21 And at times it was, that the cloud remained from evening until morning; and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they journeyed forward; or a day and a night, and when the cloud was taken up, they journeyed forward;
Si la nuée restait depuis le soir jusqu’au matin, et qu’aussitôt le point du jour elle quittât le tabernacle, ils partaient: et si après un jour et une nuit elle se retirait, ils détendaient les tentes.
22 Or two days, or a month, or a year; so long as the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, to remain thereon, did the children of Israel remain encamped, and journeyed not forward; but when it was taken up, they journeyed forward.
Mais si elle était deux jours, ou un mois ou plus longtemps sur le tabernacle, les enfants d’Israël demeuraient dans le même lieu et ne partaient pas; mais dès qu’elle s’était retirée, ils levaient le camp.
23 At the order of the Lord they remained in camp, and at the order of the Lord they journeyed forward: the charge of the Lord they kept, at the order of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
C’était sur la parole du Seigneur qu’ils plantaient les tentes, et sur sa parole qu’ils partaient: et ils étaient en observation du Seigneur, selon son commandement par l’entremise de Moïse.
