Numbers 34

1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

L'Eternel parla aussi à Moïse, en disant:

2 Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, when ye come into the land of Canaan, shall this be the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance: The land of Canaan according to its boundaries.

Commande aux enfants d'Israël, et leur dis: Parce que vous allez entrer au pays de Canaan, ce [sera] ici le pays qui vous écherra en héritage, le pays de Canaan selon ses limites.

3 And the southern side shall be unto you from the wilderness of Zin along by the boundary of Edom, and your southern border shall commence at the outmost edge of the Salt Sea on its east side.

Votre frontière du côté du Midi sera depuis le désert de Tsin, le long d'Edom; tellement que votre frontière du côté du Midi commencera au bout de la mer Salée vers l'Orient.

4 And the border shall turn for you from the south of the ascent of 'Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin; and its terminating points shall be to the south of Kadesh-barnea', and shall go on to Chazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon;

Et cette frontière tournera du Midi vers la montée de Hakrabbim, et passera jusqu'à Tsin; et elle aboutira du côté du Midi, à Kadès-barné, et sortira aussi en Hatsar-addar, et passera jusqu'à Hatsmon.

5 And the border shall turn from 'Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and its terminating points shall be at the sea.

Et cette frontière tournera depuis Hatsmon jusqu'au torrent d'Egypte; et elle aboutira à la mer.

6 And as the western border, shall ye have the Great Sea for a border: this shall be your western border.

Et quant à la frontière d'Occident, vous aurez la grande mer, et ses limites; ce vous sera la frontière Occidentale.

7 And this shall be unto you the northern border: from the Great Sea shall ye mark out for you [the boundary to] mount Hor;

Et ce sera [ici] votre frontière du Septentrion; depuis la grande mer vous marquerez pour vos limites la montagne de Hor.

8 From mount Hor shall ye mark out [the boundary] unto the entrance of Chamath; and the terminations of the border shall be toward Zedad;

Et de la montagne de Hor vous marquerez pour vos limites l'entrée de Hamath; et cette frontière se rendra vers Tsédad.

9 And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and its terminating points shall be at Chazar'-enan: this shall be unto you the northern border.

Et cette frontière passera jusqu'à Ziphron, et elle aboutira à Hatsar-hénan; telle sera votre frontière du Septentrion.

10 And ye shall turn yourselves to the eastern border, from Chazar-'enan to Shepham;

Puis vous marquerez pour vos limites vers l'Orient depuis Hatsar-hénan vers Sepham.

11 And the boundary shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, to the eastward of 'Ayin; and the boundary shall descend, and shall touch upon the coast of the sea of Kinnereth, eastward;

Et cette frontière descendra de Sepham à Riblat, du côté de l'Orient de Hajin; et cette frontière descendra et s'étendra le long de la mer de Kinnereth vers l'Orient.

12 And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its terminating points shall be at the Salt Sea: this shall be your land after its boundaries round about.

Et cette frontière descendra au Jourdain, et se rendra à la mer salée; tel sera le pays que vous aurez selon ses limites tout autour.

13 And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This is the land which ye shall divide among yourselves by lot, which the Lord hath commanded to give unto the nine tribes, and to the half tribe.

Et Moïse commanda aux enfants d'Israël, en disant: C'est là le pays que vous hériterez par sort, lequel l'Eternel a commandé de donner à neuf Tribus, et à la moitié d'une Tribu.

14 For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their family divisions, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to their family divisions, have received, —and the half of the tribe of Menasseh have received their inheritance;

Car la Tribu des enfants de Ruben selon les familles de leurs pères, et la Tribu des enfants de Gad, selon les familles de leurs pères, ont pris leur héritage; [et] la demi-Tribu de Manassé a pris aussi son héritage.

15 The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Jordan opposite Jericho eastward, toward the rising of the sun.

Deux tribus, [dis-je], et la moitié d'une Tribu, ont pris leur héritage au deçà du Jourdain de Jéricho, du côté du Levant.

16 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

Et l'Eternel parla à Moïse, en disant:

17 These are the names of the men who shall parcel out unto you the land: Elazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Ce sont ici les noms des hommes qui vous partageront le pays, Eléazar, le Sacrificateur, et Josué, fils de Nun.

18 And one prince each from every tribe shall ye take to parcel out the land.

Vous prendrez aussi un des principaux de chaque Tribu pour faire le partage du pays.

19 And these are the names of the men: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Yephunneh:

Et ce sont ici les noms de ces hommes-là. Pour la Tribu de Juda, Caleb, fils de Jéphunné.

20 And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of 'Ammihud;

Pour la Tribu des enfants de Siméon, Samuel, fils de Hammiud.

21 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Kisslon;

Pour la Tribu de Benjamin, Elidad, fils de Kislon.

22 And of the tribe of the children of Dan the prince, Bukki the son of Yogli;

Pour la Tribu des enfants de Dan, celui qui en est le chef, Bukki, fils de Jogli.

23 Of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Menasseh the prince, Channiel the son of Ephod;

Des enfants de Joseph, pour la Tribu des enfants de Manassé, celui qui en est le chef, Hanniel, fils d'Ephod.

24 And of the tribe of the children of Ephraim the prince, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan;

Pour la Tribu des enfants d'Ephraïm, celui qui en est le chef, Kémuel, fils de Siphthan.

25 And of the tribe of the children of Zebulun the prince, Elizaphan the son of Parnach;

Pour la Tribu des enfants de Zabulon, celui qui en est le chef, Elitsaphan, fils de Parnac.

26 And of the tribe of the children of Issachar the prince, Paltiel the son of 'Azzan;

Pour la Tribu des enfants d'Issacar, celui qui en est le chef, Paltiel, fils de Hazan.

27 And of the tribe of the children of Asher the prince, Achihud the son of Shelomi;

Pour la Tribu des enfants d'Aser, celui qui en est le chef, Ahihud, fils de Sélomi.

28 And of the tribe of the children of Naphtali the prince, Pedahel the son of 'Ammihud.

Et pour la Tribu des enfants de Nephthali, celui qui en est le chef, Pédahel, fils de Hammiud.

29 These are they whom the Lord hath commanded to divide out the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.

Ce sont là ceux auxquels l'Eternel commanda de partager l'héritage aux enfants d'Israël dans le pays de Canaan.
