Numbers 31
1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Und der HERR redete zu Mose und sprach: Nimm für die Kinder Israel Rache an den Midianitern;
2 Execute the vengeance of the children of Israel on the Midianites, after which thou shalt be gathered unto thy people.
darnach sollst du zu deinem Volk versammelt werden.
3 And Moses spoke unto the people, saying, Arm from yourselves some men for the army, and let them go against the Midianites, to execute the vengeance of the Lord on Midian.
Da redete Mose mit dem Volk und sprach: Rüstet unter euch Leute zu einem Heereszug wider die Midianiter, daß sie die Rache des HERRN an den Midianitern vollstrecken!
4 A thousand each for every tribe, of all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the army.
Aus allen Stämmen Israels sollt ihr je tausend Mann in den Streit schicken.
5 And there were levied out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for the army.
Da wurden aus den Tausenden Israels tausend von jedem Stamme ausgewählt, zwölftausend zum Streit Gerüstete.
6 And Moses sent them, a thousand of every tribe, to the army; them and Phinehas the son of Elazar the priest, to the army, with the holy vessels, and the trumpets for blowing the alarm in his hand.
Und Mose schickte sie, tausend aus jedem Stamm, in den Streit, sie und Pinehas, den Sohn Eleasars, des Priesters, zum Heereszug, mit den heiligen Geräten und den Lärmtrompeten in seiner Hand.
7 And they marched out against the Midianites, as the Lord had commanded Moses; and they slew every male.
Und sie führten den Streit wider die Midianiter, wie der HERR Mose geboten hatte, und töteten alles, was männlich war.
8 And the kings of Midian they slew, besides the rest of their men that were slain; namely, Evi and Rekem, and Zur, and Chur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian; and Bil'am the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
Sie töteten auch die Könige der Midianiter zu den andern [von ihnen] Erschlagenen, nämlich Evi, Rekem, Zur, Chur und Reba, fünf Könige der Midianiter; auch Bileam, den Sohn Beors, brachten sie mit dem Schwerte um.
9 And the children of Israel took captives the women of Midian, and their little ones; and all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods, they took as spoil.
Und die Kinder Israel nahmen die Weiber der Midianiter und ihre Kinder gefangen; all ihr Vieh, alle ihre Habe und alle ihre Güter raubten sie;
10 And all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their castles they burnt with fire.
und alle ihre Städte, ihre Wohnungen und alle ihre Zeltlager verbrannten sie mit Feuer.
11 And they took all the spoil, and all the booty, both of men and of cattle.
Und sie nahmen alle Beute und allen Raub an Menschen und Vieh
12 And they brought unto Moses, and to Elazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, the captives, and the booty, and the spoil, unto the camp, to the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan opposite Jericho.
und brachten es zu Mose und Eleasar, dem Priester, und zu der Gemeinde der Kinder Israel, nämlich die Gefangenen und die Beute und das geraubte Gut, in das Lager auf der Moabiter Ebene, die am Jordan, Jericho gegenüber, liegt.
13 And Moses, and Elazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them, to without the camp.
Und Mose und Eleasar, der Priester, und alle Hauptleute der Gemeinde gingen ihnen entgegen vor das Lager hinaus.
14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, the captains over the thousands, and the captains over the hundreds, who had come from the war-campaign.
Und Mose ward zornig über die Vorgesetzten des Heeres, die Hauptleute über Tausende und über Hunderte, die vom Kriegszuge kamen.
15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye allowed all the females to live?
Und Mose sprach zu ihnen: Warum habt ihr alle Weiber leben lassen?
16 Behold, these chiefly were the cause unto the children of Israel, through the counsel of Bil'am, to commit the gross trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor; through which there was the plague among the congregation of the Lord.
Siehe, sie haben ja in der Sache des Peor durch Bileams Rat die Kinder Israel vom HERRN abgewandt, so daß der Gemeinde des HERRN die Plage widerfuhr!
17 And now kill ye every male among the little ones, and every woman that hath known man by lying with him shall ye kill.
So erwürgt nun alles, was männlich ist unter den Kindern; und alle Weiber, welche einen Mann durch Beischlaf kennengelernt haben, die tötet;
18 But all among the women-children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
aber alle weiblichen Kinder, die von männlichem Beischlaf nichts wissen, die lasset für euch leben.
19 But ye, —you must abide without the camp seven days: all ye who have killed any person, and all who have touched any one slain, shall purify yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day; both you and your captives.
Und lagert euch außerhalb des Lagers sieben Tage lang, ihr alle, die ihr jemand erwürgt oder Erschlagene angerührt habt, und entsündigt euch am dritten und siebenten Tage, samt denen, welche ihr gefangen genommen habt.
20 And every garment, and whatever is made of skins, and every work of goats' hair, and every vessel made of wood, shall ye purify unto yourselves.
Und alle Kleider und alles Geräte von Fellen und alles, was von Ziegenhaar gemacht ist, und alles hölzerne Gerät sollt ihr entsündigen.
21 And Elazar the priest said unto the men of the army who had gone to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord hath commanded Moses:
Und Eleasar, der Priester, sprach zu den Kriegsleuten, die in den Streit gezogen waren: Siehe, das ist die Gesetzesbestimmung, welche der HERR Mose geboten hat:
22 Nevertheless the gold, and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
Gold, Silber, Erz, Eisen, Zinn und Blei, und alles,
23 Every thing that cometh into the fire shall ye make go through the fire, and it shall be clean; only it shall be purified with the waters of sprinkling: and whatsoever doth not come into the fire shall ye cause to go through the water.
was das Feuer aushält, sollt ihr durchs Feuer gehen lassen und reinigen; nur muß es mit dem Reinigungswasser entsündigt werden. Aber alles, was das Feuer nicht aushält, sollt ihr durchs Wasser gehen lassen.
24 And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and after that may ye come into the camp.
Auch eure Kleider sollt ihr am siebenten Tage waschen, so werdet ihr rein. Darnach sollt ihr ins Lager kommen.
25 And the Lord said unto Moses, as followeth,
Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach:
26 Take the sum of the booty of the captives, both of man and of cattle, thou, with Elazar the priest, and the chiefs of the families of the congregation:
Stelle fest die Summe des Raubes der Gefangenen an Menschen und Vieh, du und Eleasar, der Priester, und die obersten Väter der Gemeinde, und gib die eine Hälfte denen,
27 And thou shalt divide the booty, between those that carried on the war, who went out to the army, and between all the congregation.
die den Krieg geführt haben und in den Streit gezogen sind, und die andere Hälfte der ganzen Gemeinde.
28 And thou shalt levy a tribute unto the Lord from the men of war who went out to the army, one individual from every five hundred, of the persons, and of the beef-cattle, and of the asses, and of the sheep;
Du sollst aber dem HERRN eine Steuer erheben von den Kriegsleuten, die ins Feld gezogen sind, eine Seele von je fünfhundert, von Menschen, Rindern, Eseln und Schafen.
29 From their half shall ye take it; and thou shalt give it unto Elazar the priest, for a heave-offering of the Lord.
Von ihrer Hälfte sollst du es nehmen, und es Eleasar, dem Priester, geben, zum Hebopfer für den HERRN.
30 And from the half of the children of Israel, shalt thou take one individual, as it may come, from any fifty, of the persons, of beef-cattle, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of cattle; and thou shalt give the same unto the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of the Lord.
Aber von der Hälfte der Kinder Israel sollst du von je fünfzig ein Stück nehmen, von Menschen, Rindern, Eseln und Schafen, von allem Vieh, und sollst es den Leviten geben, die der Wohnung des HERRN warten.
31 And Moses with Elazar the priest did, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Und Mose und Eleasar, der Priester, taten, wie der HERR Mose geboten hatte.
32 And the booty, being the rest of the spoil which the men of the army had taken, was of sheep and goats, six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand,
Es betrug aber die Beute, welche das Kriegsvolk geraubt hatte: 675000 Schafe, 270000 Rinder,
33 And of beef-cattle, seventy and two thousand,
61000 Esel.
34 And of asses, sixty and one thousand,
Und der weiblichen Personen,
35 And of human persons, of women that had not known men by lying with him, in all thirty and two thousand.
die von keinem männlichen Beischlaf wußten, waren 32000.
36 And the half, the portion of those who had gone out in the army, was, in the number of sheep and goats, three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred.
Und die Hälfte, welche denen gehörte, die ins Feld gezogen waren, betrug 337500 Schafe,
37 And the tribute unto the Lord of the flocks was six hundred and seventy and five.
davon wurden dem HERRN zuteil sechshundertsiebzig Schafe;
38 And the beef-cattle were thirty and six thousand; and the tribute thereof unto the Lord was seventy and two.
ferner 36000 Rinder; davon wurden dem HERRN zuteil zweiundsiebzig;
39 And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; and the tribute thereof unto the Lord was sixty and one.
ferner 30500 Esel, davon wurden dem HERRN zuteil einundsechzig;
40 And the human persons were sixteen thousand; and the tribute thereof unto the Lord was thirty and two persons.
16000 Menschenseelen; davon wurden dem HERRN zuteil zweiunddreißig.
41 And Moses gave the tribute, the Lord's heave-offering, unto Elazar the priest, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Und Mose gab diese Steuer, als Hebopfer für den HERRN, Eleasar, dem Priester; wie der HERR Mose geboten hatte.
42 And from the half of the children of Israel, which Moses divided off from the men that had gone forth in the army, —
Aber die andere Hälfte, welche Mose von der Kriegsbeute den Kindern Israel zugeteilt hatte,
43 (Now the half of the congregation was, of sheep and goats three hundred thousand and thirty thousand, seven thousand and five hundred.
nämlich die der Gemeinde zufallende Hälfte, betrug 337500 Schafe,
44 And beef-cattle, thirty and six thousand,
36000 Rinder,
45 And asses thirty thousand five hundred,
30500 Esel,
46 And human persons sixteen thousand; )
und 16000 Menschenseelen.
47 And Moses took from this half of the children of Israel, as it came, one from every fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave the same unto the Levites, who kept the charge of the tabernacle of the Lord; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Und Mose nahm von dieser Hälfte der Kinder Israel je ein Stück von fünfzig, von Menschen und Vieh, und gab es den Leviten, welche der Wohnung des HERRN warteten; wie der HERR Mose geboten hatte.
48 And there came near unto Moses the officers who had been over the thousands of the army, the captains of the thousands, and the captains of the hundreds.
Und die Obersten des Heeres, die Hauptleute über tausend und über hundert,
49 And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who have been under our command, and there lacketh not one man of us.
traten zu Mose und sprachen zu ihm: Deine Knechte haben die Summe der Kriegsleute festgestellt, welche unter unsern Händen gewesen sind, und es fehlt nicht einer.
50 We have therefore brought an oblation unto the Lord, each what he hath gotten of vessels of gold, chains, and bracelets, finger-rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the Lord.
Darum bringen wir dem HERRN Geschenke, was ein jeder gefunden hat von goldenem Geräte, Fußketten, Armbänder, Fingerringe, Ohrringe und Spangen, um unsre Seelen zu sühnen vor dem HERRN.
51 And Moses with Elazar the priest took the gold from them, all kinds of wrought articles.
Und Mose und Eleasar, der Priester, nahmen von ihnen das Gold, allerlei künstliche Geräte.
52 And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the Lord, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from the captains of the thousands, and from the captains of the hundreds.
Und alles Gold des Hebopfers, das sie dem HERRN darbrachten, betrug 16750 Schekel, vonseiten der Hauptleute über tausend und der Hauptleute über hundert.
53 The men of the army had taken spoil, every man for himself.
Die Kriegsleute hatten ein jeder für sich geraubt.
54 And Moses and Elazar the priest took the gold from the captains of the thousands and of the hundreds, and they brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, as a memorial for the children of Israel before the Lord.
Und Mose und Eleasar, der Priester, nahmen das Gold von den Hauptleuten über tausend und über hundert und brachten es in die Stiftshütte zum Gedächtnis der Kinder Israel vor dem HERRN.
