Numbers 31
1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
BOEIPA loh Moses te. a voek tih,
2 Execute the vengeance of the children of Israel on the Midianites, after which thou shalt be gathered unto thy people.
“Na pilnam te coi lamtah Israel ca rhoek kah tawnlohnah neh Median soah phulo laeh,” a ti nah.
3 And Moses spoke unto the people, saying, Arm from yourselves some men for the army, and let them go against the Midianites, to execute the vengeance of the Lord on Midian.
Te dongah Moses loh pilnam te. a voek tih, “Na taeng lamkah hlang rhoek te caempuei la pumcum saeh lamtah Midian soah BOEIPA kah, tawnlohnah paek ham Midian cuuk uh thil saeh.
4 A thousand each for every tribe, of all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the army.
Israel koca boeih khui lamloh koca khat ah thawng khat, koca khat ah thawng khat rhip te caempuei la tueih uh,” a ti nah.
5 And there were levied out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for the army.
Te dongah Israel. a thawng a thawng khui lamloh koca khat ah thawng khat te hol uh tih thawng hlai nit te caempuei la pumcum uh.
6 And Moses sent them, a thousand of every tribe, to the army; them and Phinehas the son of Elazar the priest, to the army, with the holy vessels, and the trumpets for blowing the alarm in his hand.
Te phoeiah Moses loh amih koca pakhat lamkah thawng te caempuei la. a tueih. Te vaengah khosoih Eleazar capa Phinekha khaw, a kut dongkah hmuencim hnopai neh tamlung olueng neh caempuei la cet.
7 And they marched out against the Midianites, as the Lord had commanded Moses; and they slew every male.

8 And the kings of Midian they slew, besides the rest of their men that were slain; namely, Evi and Rekem, and Zur, and Chur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian; and Bil'am the son of Beor they slew with the sword.

9 And the children of Israel took captives the women of Midian, and their little ones; and all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods, they took as spoil.

10 And all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their castles they burnt with fire.
Amih kah, tolrhum lakli, a khopuei boeih neh a lumim boeih khaw, hmai neh. a hoeh pa uh.
11 And they took all the spoil, and all the booty, both of men and of cattle.
Kutbuem boeih khaw, hlang neh rhamsa dongkah a hnorhawt boeih khaw a khuen uh.
12 And they brought unto Moses, and to Elazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, the captives, and the booty, and the spoil, unto the camp, to the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan opposite Jericho.

13 And Moses, and Elazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them, to without the camp.
Moses, khosoih Eleazar neh rhaengpuei kah, khoboei boeih khaw, amih doe hamla rhaehhmuen vongvoel la tawn uh.
14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, the captains over the thousands, and the captains over the hundreds, who had come from the war-campaign.
Tedae caem aka soep thawng khat mangpa rhoek, neh caempuei caemtloek lamkah aka pawk yakhat mangpa taengah Moses. a thintoek.
15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye allowed all the females to live?
Te phoeiah amih te Moses loh, “Huta tah boeih na hlun uh nama?”.
16 Behold, these chiefly were the cause unto the children of Israel, through the counsel of Bil'am, to commit the gross trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor; through which there was the plague among the congregation of the Lord.
Peor kah, olka dongah BOEIPA taeng lamloh boekoeknah la hol uh ham Balaam kah, ol lamloh Israel ca rhoek, taengla amih ha pawk coeng ne. Te dongah ni lucik loh BOEIPA kah, hlangboel. a tlak thil.
17 And now kill ye every male among the little ones, and every woman that hath known man by lying with him shall ye kill.
Te dongah camoe lakli kah tongpa boeih te ngawn uh lamtah tongpa kah, thingkong dongah tongpa aka ming huta boeih khaw, ngawn uh.
18 But all among the women-children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
Tedae huta khuiah khaw, tongpa kah, thingkong aka ming hlan camoe boeih tah namamih ham hlun uh.
19 But ye, —you must abide without the camp seven days: all ye who have killed any person, and all who have touched any one slain, shall purify yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day; both you and your captives.
Nangmih hinglu aka ngawn boeih neh rhok aka ben boeih tah hnin rhih khuiah rhaehhmuen vongvoel la rhaeh uh. A hnin thum neh. a hnin rhih dongah namamih neh na tamna te khaw cilpoe uh.
20 And every garment, and whatever is made of skins, and every work of goats' hair, and every vessel made of wood, shall ye purify unto yourselves.
Himbai boeih neh maehpho dongkah hnopai boeih, maae lamkah bitat boeih neh thing hnopai boeih khaw, cilpoe uh,” a ti nah.
21 And Elazar the priest said unto the men of the army who had gone to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord hath commanded Moses:
BOEIPA loh Moses taengah a uen bangla olkhueng dongkah khosing he, khosoih Eleazar loh caemtloek la aka cet caempuei hlang rhoek, taengah,
22 Nevertheless the gold, and the silver, the copper, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
“Sui neh cak, rhohum, thi, samphae neh kawnlawk,
23 Every thing that cometh into the fire shall ye make go through the fire, and it shall be clean; only it shall be purified with the waters of sprinkling: and whatsoever doth not come into the fire shall ye cause to go through the water.
Hmai aka khoeng hno boeih tah hmai ah caeh sak uh lamtah caihcil bitni. Pumom tui neh cilpoe saeh lamtah hmai loh a khoeng pawt boeih tah tui dongah caeh sak uh.
24 And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and after that may ye come into the camp.
A hnin rhih dongah na himbai te na suk uh tih na caihcil uh phoeiah rhaehhmuen la kun uh,” a ti nah.
25 And the Lord said unto Moses, as followeth,
BOEIPA loh Moses te. a voek tih,
26 Take the sum of the booty of the captives, both of man and of cattle, thou, with Elazar the priest, and the chiefs of the families of the congregation:
Hnorhawt dongkah hlangmi te, na hlang kah tamna neh rhamsa khaw, khosoih Eleazar neh rhaengpuei kah a napa rhoek, hlangmi khaw, tae uh.
27 And thou shalt divide the booty, between those that carried on the war, who went out to the army, and between all the congregation.
Caempuei la. a khuen tih caem aka tu laklo neh rhaengpuei boeih laklo ah hnorhawt te tael pah.
28 And thou shalt levy a tribute unto the Lord from the men of war who went out to the army, one individual from every five hundred, of the persons, and of the beef-cattle, and of the asses, and of the sheep;
Caempuei la aka cet caemtloek hlang rhoek khui lamloh ya nga vaengah hinglu pakhat tah hlang khaw, saelhung khaw, laak khaw, boiva khaw BOEIPA taengah mangmu la tloeng.
29 From their half shall ye take it; and thou shalt give it unto Elazar the priest, for a heave-offering of the Lord.
A rhakthuem te lo lamtah BOEIPA kah, khosaa la khosoih Eleazar ham pae.
30 And from the half of the children of Israel, shalt thou take one individual, as it may come, from any fifty, of the persons, of beef-cattle, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of cattle; and thou shalt give the same unto the Levites, who keep the charge of the tabernacle of the Lord.
Israel ca rhoek kah te a rhakthuem ah coelh pah. Sawmnga lamloh pakhat tah hlang khaw, saelhung khaw, laak khaw, boiva khaw, rhamsa khaw, boeih tu lamtah BOEIPA kah, dungtlungim loh a kuek aka ngaithuen Levi taengah pae,” a ti nah.
31 And Moses with Elazar the priest did, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

32 And the booty, being the rest of the spoil which the men of the army had taken, was of sheep and goats, six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand,
Caempuei pilnam loh a poelyoe hnorhawt dong lamloh maeh coih la aka om he boiva he thawng ya rhuk neh thawng sawmrhih thawng nga,
33 And of beef-cattle, seventy and two thousand,
saelhung thawng sawmrhih neh thawng, hnih,
34 And of asses, sixty and one thousand,
Laak thawng sawmrhuk neh thawng, khat lo.
35 And of human persons, of women that had not known men by lying with him, in all thirty and two thousand.
Hlang kah, hinglu khaw tongpa kah, thingkong aka ming pawh huta he. a pum la hinglu thawng sawmthum thawng, nit lo.
36 And the half, the portion of those who had gone out in the army, was, in the number of sheep and goats, three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred.
Caempuei la aka kun kah, hamsum rhakthuem he a pum la boiva thawng ya thum neh thawng sawmthum thawng rhih ya nga lo.
37 And the tribute unto the Lord of the flocks was six hundred and seventy and five.
BOEIPA kah mangmu te boiva dong lamloh ya rhuk sawmrhih panga,
38 And the beef-cattle were thirty and six thousand; and the tribute thereof unto the Lord was seventy and two.
Saelhung thawng sawmthum thawng, rhuk lo. Te vaengah BOEIPA ham amih kah, mangmu te sawmrhih pumnit lo.
39 And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; and the tribute thereof unto the Lord was sixty and one.
Laak thawng thumkip neh ya nga vaengah BOEIPA ham amih mangmu pum sawmrhuk pakhat lo.
40 And the human persons were sixteen thousand; and the tribute thereof unto the Lord was thirty and two persons.
Hlang kah, hinglu khaw, thawng hlai rhuk vaengah BOEIPA ham amih kah, mangmu te hinglu thumkip panit lo.
41 And Moses gave the tribute, the Lord's heave-offering, unto Elazar the priest, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Te dongah BOEIPA loh Moses. a uen vanbangla BOEIPA kah, khosaa mangmu te Moses loh khosoih Eleazar taengah. a paek.
42 And from the half of the children of Israel, which Moses divided off from the men that had gone forth in the army, —
Israel ca rhakthuem lamloh caem aka muk hlang taeng lamkah khaw Moses loh a tael pah.
43 (Now the half of the congregation was, of sheep and goats three hundred thousand and thirty thousand, seven thousand and five hundred.
Hlangboel rhakthuem lamloh boiva thawng ya thum neh thawng sawmthum thawng rhih ya nga lo.
44 And beef-cattle, thirty and six thousand,
Saelhung he thawng thumkip neh thawng rhuk lo.
45 And asses thirty thousand five hundred,
Laak thawng sawmthum neh ya nga lo.
46 And human persons sixteen thousand; )
Hlang kah hinglu thawng hlai rhuk lo.
47 And Moses took from this half of the children of Israel, as it came, one from every fifty, of man and of cattle, and gave the same unto the Levites, who kept the charge of the tabernacle of the Lord; as the Lord had commanded Moses.

48 And there came near unto Moses the officers who had been over the thousands of the army, the captains of the thousands, and the captains of the hundreds.
Te phoeiah caempuei a thawng thawng aka soep, thawng khat mangpa rhoek, neh yakhat mangpa rhoek tahMoses taengla mop uh.
49 And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war who have been under our command, and there lacketh not one man of us.
Moses taengah, “Na sal rhoek loh caemtloek hlang rhoek kah boeilu te. a tae uh vaengah mamih lamkah he kaimih kut hmuiah hlang he a hmaai moenih.
50 We have therefore brought an oblation unto the Lord, each what he hath gotten of vessels of gold, chains, and bracelets, finger-rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the Lord.
Te dongah BOEIPA mikhmuh ah kaimih kah hinglu ham aka dawth la hlang loh a hmuh sui hnopai, cak neh khungpak, kutcaeng, hnathawn neh oilung te BOEIPA nawnnah ham kang khuen,” a ti uh.
51 And Moses with Elazar the priest took the gold from them, all kinds of wrought articles.
Te dongah Moses neh khosoih loh Eleazar amih taeng lamkah sui neh kutsai hnopai boeih te. a doe.
52 And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the Lord, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels, from the captains of the thousands, and from the captains of the hundreds.
Te dongah thawngkhat mangpa rhoek neh yakhat mangpa rhoek taeng lamloh BOEIPA taengah khosaa la a tloeng uh sui boeih he shekel thawng hlai rhuk ya rhih sawmnga lo.
53 The men of the army had taken spoil, every man for himself.
Caempuei hlang rhoek long khaw amah kah hlang te a poelyoe uh.
54 And Moses and Elazar the priest took the gold from the captains of the thousands and of the hundreds, and they brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, as a memorial for the children of Israel before the Lord.
Te phoeiah Moses neh khosoih Eleazar loh thawngkhat neh yakhat mangpa rhoek, lamkah sui te. a doe tih tingtunnah dap la BOEIPA mikhmuh ah Israel ca rhoek, ham poekkoepnah. la a khuen.
