Numbers 3

1 And these are the generations of Aaron and Moses, on the day that the Lord spoke with Moses on mount Sinai.

Inilah keturunan Harun dan Musa pada waktu TUHAN berfirman kepada Musa di gunung Sinai.

2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: the firstborn Nadab, and Abihu, Elazar, and Ithamar.

Nama anak-anak Harun, ialah: yang sulung Nadab, kemudian Abihu, Eleazar dan Itamar.

3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that were anointed, who were consecrated to minister as priests.

Itulah nama anak-anak Harun, imam-imam yang diurapi, yang telah ditahbiskan untuk memegang jabatan imam.

4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered a strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Elazar and Ithamar ministered as priests in the life-time of Aaron their father.

Tetapi Nadab dan Abihu sudah mati di hadapan TUHAN di padang gurun Sinai, ketika mereka mempersembahkan api yang asing ke hadapan TUHAN. Mereka tidak mempunyai anak. Jadi ketika Harun, ayah mereka, masih hidup, yang memegang jabatan imam ialah Eleazar dan Itamar.

5 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

TUHAN berfirman kepada Musa:

6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present the same before Aaron the priest, that they may serve him.

"Suruhlah suku Lewi mendekat dan menghadap imam Harun, supaya mereka melayani dia.

7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tent of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.

Mereka harus mengerjakan tugas-tugas bagi Harun dan bagi segenap umat Israel di depan Kemah Pertemuan dan dengan demikian melakukan pekerjaan jabatannya pada Kemah Suci.

8 And they shall keep all the vessels of the tent of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

Mereka harus memelihara segala perabotan Kemah Pertemuan, dan mengerjakan tugas-tugas bagi orang Israel dan dengan demikian melakukan pekerjaan jabatannya pada Kemah Suci.

9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: as associates are they given unto him out of the children of Israel.

Orang Lewi harus kauserahkan kepada Harun dan anak-anaknya; dari antara orang Israel haruslah orang-orang itu diserahkan kepadanya dengan sepenuhnya.

10 And Aaron and his sons shalt thou instruct, that they shall guard well their priest's office; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

Tetapi Harun dan anak-anaknya haruslah kautugaskan untuk memegang jabatannya sebagai imam, sedang orang awam yang mendekat harus dihukum mati."

11 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

TUHAN berfirman kepada Musa:

12 And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from the midst of the children of Israel instead of every first-born that openeth the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine.

"Sesungguhnya, Aku mengambil orang Lewi dari antara orang Israel ganti semua anak sulung mereka, yang terdahulu lahir dari kandungan, supaya orang Lewi menjadi kepunyaan-Ku,

13 Because mine is every first-born; on the day when I smote every first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me every first-born in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be; I am the Lord.

sebab Akulah yang punya semua anak sulung. Pada waktu Aku membunuh semua anak sulung di tanah Mesir, maka Aku menguduskan bagi-Ku semua anak sulung yang ada pada orang Israel, baik dari manusia maupun dari hewan; semuanya itu kepunyaan-Ku; Akulah TUHAN."

14 And the Lord spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

TUHAN berfirman kepada Musa di padang gurun Sinai:

15 Number the children of Levi after their divisions, by their families; every male of them from a month old and upward shalt thou number.

"Catatlah bani Lewi menurut puak-puak dan kaum-kaum mereka; semua laki-laki yang berumur satu bulan ke atas harus kaucatat."

16 And Moses numbered them according to the order of the Lord, as he had been commanded.

Lalu Musa mencatat mereka sesuai dengan titah TUHAN, seperti yang diperintahkan kepadanya.

17 And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kehath, and Merari.

Inilah anak-anak Lewi dengan nama mereka: Gerson, Kehat dan Merari.

18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon after their families: Libni, and Shimi.

Inilah nama anak-anak Gerson dan kaum-kaum mereka: Libni dan Simei.

19 And the sons of Kehath after their families: 'Amram, and Yizhar, Chebron, and 'Uzziel.

Anak-anak Kehat dan kaum-kaum mereka ialah Amram, Yizhar, Hebron dan Uziel.

20 And the sons of Merari after their families: Machli, and Mushi; these are the families of the Levites according to their family divisions.

Anak-anak Merari dan kaum-kaum mereka ialah Mahli dan Musi. Inilah kaum-kaum orang Lewi yang ada dalam puak-puak mereka.

21 Of Gershon: the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites; these are the families of the Gershunites.

Puak Gerson terdiri dari kaum Libni dan kaum Simei; itulah kaum-kaum Gerson.

22 Those that were numbered of them, by the numbering of all the males from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them, were seven thousand and five hundred.

Jumlah pencatatan mereka ketika semua laki-laki yang berumur satu bulan ke atas dicatat ada tujuh ribu lima ratus orang.

23 The families of the Gershunites used to encamp behind the tabernacle, westward.

Kaum-kaum Gerson ini berkemah di belakang Kemah Suci di sebelah barat.

24 And the prince of the family division of the Gershunites was Elyassaph the son of Lael.

Pemimpin puak Gerson ialah Elyasaf bin Lael.

25 And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation was the tabernacle and the tent, its covering, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,

Yang harus dipelihara oleh bani Gerson dalam Kemah Pertemuan ialah Kemah Suci dan Kemah dengan tudungnya, tirai pintu Kemah Pertemuan,

26 And the hangings of the court, and the curtain for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar, round about, and its cords for all the service thereof.

layar pelataran dan tirai pintu pelataran yang ada sekeliling Kemah Suci dan mezbah, dan talinya, termasuk segala pekerjaan yang berhubungan dengan semuanya itu.

27 And of Kehath: the family of the 'Amramites, and the family of the Yizharites, and the family of the Chebronites, and the family of the 'Uzzielites; these are the families of the Kehathites.

Puak Kehat terdiri dari kaum Amram, kaum Yizhar, kaum Hebron dan kaum Uziel; itulah kaum-kaum Kehat.

28 By the numbering of all the males, from a month old and upward, they were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.

Jumlah pencatatan mereka ketika semua laki-laki yang berumur satu bulan ke atas dicatat ada delapan ribu enam ratus orang, yakni mereka yang memelihara barang-barang kudus.

29 The families of the sons of Kehath used to encamp on the side of the tabernacle, southward.

Kaum-kaum bani Kehat ini berkemah pada sisi Kemah Suci sebelah selatan.

30 And the prince of the division of the families of the Kehathites was Elizaphan the son of 'Uzziel.

Pemimpin puak Kehat dan kaum-kaumnya ialah Elisafan bin Uziel.

31 And their charge was the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary which are used for the service, and the vail, and all belonging thereto.

Yang harus dipelihara mereka ialah tabut, meja, kandil, mezbah-mezbah, perkakas tempat kudus yang dipakai untuk menyelenggarakan ibadah, juga tirai, termasuk segala pekerjaan yang berhubungan dengan semuanya itu.

32 And the chief over the princes of the Levites was Elazar the son of Aaron the priest, having the oversight of those that kept the charge of the sanctuary.

Adapun pemimpin tertinggi orang Lewi ialah Eleazar, anak imam Harun, yang mengawasi mereka yang memelihara barang-barang kudus.

33 Of Merari: the family of the Machlites, and the family of the Mushites; these are the families of Merari.

Puak Merari terdiri dari kaum Mahli dan kaum Musi; itulah kaum-kaum Merari.

34 And those that were numbered of them, by the numbering of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred.

Jumlah pencatatan mereka ketika semua laki-laki yang berumur satu bulan ke atas dicatat ada enam ribu dua ratus orang.

35 And the chief of the division of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abichayil: they used to encamp on the side of the tabernacle, northward.

Pemimpin puak Merari dan kaum-kaumnya ialah Zuriel bin Abihail. Mereka berkemah pada sisi Kemah Suci sebelah utara.

36 And under the custody and charge of the sons of Merari were the boards of the tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its sockets, and all its vessels, and all that belongeth thereto,

Yang ditugaskan kepada bani Merari untuk dipelihara ialah papan Kemah Suci, kayu lintangnya, tiang-tiangnya, alasnya, segala perabotannya, termasuk segala pekerjaan yang berhubungan dengan semuanya itu,

37 And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.

juga tiang pelataran sekelilingnya, alas, patok dan talinya.

38 But those that encamped before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation toward the rising of the sun, were Moses, and Aaron, and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that came nigh was to be put to death.

Yang berkemah di depan Kemah Suci di sebelah timur, di depan Kemah Pertemuan, ialah Musa, dan Harun serta anak-anaknya, yang mengerjakan tugas pemeliharaan tempat kudus bagi orang Israel; tetapi orang awam yang mendekat, haruslah dihukum mati.

39 All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses numbered with Aaron, at the order of the Lord, according to their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.

Jumlah orang Lewi yang sesuai dengan titah TUHAN dicatat oleh Musa dan Harun, menurut kaum-kaum mereka, yakni semua laki-laki yang berumur satu bulan ke atas, ada dua puluh dua ribu orang.

40 And the Lord said unto Moses, Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

Lalu berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Musa: "Catatlah semua anak sulung laki-laki Israel yang berumur satu bulan ke atas, lalu hitunglah jumlah mereka,

41 And thou shalt take the Levites for me, I am the Lord, instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the first-born among the cattle of the children of Israel.

dan ambillah orang-orang Lewi bagi-Ku--Akulah TUHAN--sebagai ganti semua anak sulung yang ada pada orang Israel, juga hewan orang Lewi ganti semua anak sulung di antara hewan orang Israel."

42 And Moses numbered, as the Lord had commanded him, all the first-born among the children of Israel.

Maka Musa mencatat semua anak sulung yang ada pada orang Israel, seperti yang diperintahkan TUHAN kepadanya.

43 And all the first-born males, by the numbering of the names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and seventy and three.

Semua anak sulung laki-laki yang dicatat namanya dalam pencatatan itu, yakni yang berumur satu bulan ke atas, ada dua puluh dua ribu dua ratus tujuh puluh tiga orang.

44 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

Lalu berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Musa:

45 Take the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the Lord.

"Ambillah orang Lewi ganti semua anak sulung yang ada pada orang Israel, juga hewan orang Lewi ganti hewan mereka, supaya orang Lewi itu menjadi kepunyaan-Ku; Akulah TUHAN.

46 And [for] those that are to be redeemed, the two hundred and seventy and three of the first-born of the children of Israel, who are more than the Levites,

Sebagai uang tebusan untuk kedua ratus tujuh puluh tiga anak sulung Israel yang melebihi jumlah orang Lewi itu,

47 Thou shalt take five shekels apiece for the poll; after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take, twenty gerahs to the shekel;

haruslah engkau mengambil lima syikal seorang; engkau harus mengambilnya menurut syikal kudus--syikal ini dua puluh gera beratnya--.

48 And thou shalt give unto Aaron and to his sons the money, [for] those who are to be redeemed of those that are over the number of them.

Berikanlah perak itu kepada Harun dan anak-anaknya sebagai uang tebusan untuk orang-orang yang kelebihan itu."

49 And Moses took the redemption-money of those that were over in number above those who were redeemed by the Levites:

Lalu Musa mengambil uang tebusan untuk orang-orang yang melebihi jumlah mereka yang telah ditebus oleh orang Lewi itu;

50 Of the first-born of the children of Israel did he take the money; a thousand three hundred and sixty and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

dari pada anak-anak sulung Israel diambilnya perak itu, seribu tiga ratus enam puluh lima syikal, ditimbang menurut syikal kudus,

51 And Moses gave the money of those who were redeemed unto Aaron and unto his sons, by the order of the Lord; as the Lord had commanded Moses.

maka Musa memberikan uang tebusan itu kepada Harun dan anak-anaknya sesuai dengan titah TUHAN, seperti yang diperintahkan TUHAN kepada Musa.
