Numbers 3
1 And these are the generations of Aaron and Moses, on the day that the Lord spoke with Moses on mount Sinai.

2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: the firstborn Nadab, and Abihu, Elazar, and Ithamar.

3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that were anointed, who were consecrated to minister as priests.
Macio nĩmo marĩĩtwa ma ariũ a Harũni, nao maarĩ athĩnjĩri-Ngai aitĩrĩrie maguta, arĩa maamũrĩtwo matungatage marĩ athĩnjĩri-Ngai.
4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord, when they offered a strange fire before the Lord, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Elazar and Ithamar ministered as priests in the life-time of Aaron their father.
Na rĩrĩ, Nadabu na Abihu nĩmakuire marĩ mbere ya Jehova rĩrĩa maarutaga igongona na mwaki ũtarĩ mwĩtĩkĩrie mbere yake Werũ-inĩ wa Sinai. Matiarĩ na ciana cia aanake; nĩ ũndũ ũcio, Eleazaru na Ithamaru nĩo maatungataga marĩ athĩnjĩri-Ngai hĩndĩ ĩrĩa yothe ithe wao Harũni aarĩ muoyo.
5 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Nake Jehova akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ,
6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present the same before Aaron the priest, that they may serve him.
“Rehe andũ a mũhĩrĩga wa Lawi ũmaneane kũrĩ Harũni mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai, nĩguo mamũteithagie.
7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tent of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.
Marĩĩrutaga wĩra wa kũmũtungatĩra, na matungatagĩre kĩrĩndĩ kĩu gĩothe hau Hema-inĩ-ya-Gũtũnganwo na ũndũ wa kũruta wĩra wa hema ĩyo.
8 And they shall keep all the vessels of the tent of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: as associates are they given unto him out of the children of Israel.
Neana Alawii acio kũrĩ Harũni na ariũ ake; nĩo andũ a Isiraeli arĩa mekũneanwo kũrĩ we biũ.
10 And Aaron and his sons shalt thou instruct, that they shall guard well their priest's office; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
Amũra Harũni na ariũ ake matungatage marĩ athĩnjĩri-Ngai; mũndũ ũngĩ o wothe ũrĩa ũrĩkuhagĩrĩria harĩa haamũre no nginya ooragwo.”
11 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Ningĩ Jehova akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ,
12 And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from the midst of the children of Israel instead of every first-born that openeth the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine.
“Niĩ nĩ niĩ thuurĩte Alawii kuuma kũrĩ andũ a Isiraeli ithenya rĩa marigithathi ma arũme arĩa marigithathĩtwo nĩ andũ-a-nja othe a Isiraeli. Alawii nĩ akwa,
13 Because mine is every first-born; on the day when I smote every first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me every first-born in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be; I am the Lord.
nĩgũkorwo marigithathi mothe nĩ makwa. Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa ndooragire marigithathi mothe ma Misiri, noguo ndeyamũrĩire marigithathi mothe ma Isiraeli, marĩ ma mũndũ kana ma nyamũ. Macio nĩ makwa kĩũmbe. Niĩ nĩ niĩ Jehova.”
14 And the Lord spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,
Ningĩ Jehova akĩĩra Musa kũu Werũ-inĩ wa Sinai atĩrĩ,
15 Number the children of Levi after their divisions, by their families; every male of them from a month old and upward shalt thou number.
“Tara Alawii kũringana na nyũmba ciao na mbarĩ ciao. Tara arũme othe arĩa makinyĩtie mweri ũmwe na makĩria.”
16 And Moses numbered them according to the order of the Lord, as he had been commanded.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio, Musa akĩmatara o ta ũrĩa aathĩtwo nĩ kiugo kĩa Jehova.
17 And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kehath, and Merari.
Maya nĩmo marĩĩtwa ma ariũ a Lawi: Nĩ Gerishoni, na Kohathu, na Merari.
18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon after their families: Libni, and Shimi.
Maya nĩmo marĩĩtwa ma mbarĩ cia Agerishoni: Nĩ Libini na Shimei.
19 And the sons of Kehath after their families: 'Amram, and Yizhar, Chebron, and 'Uzziel.
Mbarĩ cia Akohathu ciarĩ: Amuramu, na Iziharu na Hebironi, na Uzieli.
20 And the sons of Merari after their families: Machli, and Mushi; these are the families of the Levites according to their family divisions.

21 Of Gershon: the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites; these are the families of the Gershunites.

22 Those that were numbered of them, by the numbering of all the males from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them, were seven thousand and five hundred.
Arũme arĩa othe maakinyĩtie mweri ũmwe na makĩria arĩa maatarirwo maarĩ andũ 7,500.
23 The families of the Gershunites used to encamp behind the tabernacle, westward.
Mbarĩ icio cia Agerishoni ciarĩ ciambe hema ciao mwena wa ithũĩro, thuutha wa Hema-ĩrĩa-Nyamũre.
24 And the prince of the family division of the Gershunites was Elyassaph the son of Lael.
Mũtongoria wa nyũmba cia Agerishoni aarĩ Eliasafu mũrũ wa Laeli.
25 And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation was the tabernacle and the tent, its covering, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,
Hau Hema-inĩ-ya-Gũtũnganwo-rĩ, Agerishoni nĩo maarĩ na wĩra wa kũmenyerera Hema-ĩyo-Nyamũre na hema, na ciandarũa cia kũmĩhumbĩra, na gĩtambaya gĩa gũcuurio itoonyero rĩa Hema-ya-Gũtũnganwo,
26 And the hangings of the court, and the curtain for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle and by the altar, round about, and its cords for all the service thereof.
na itambaya cia gũcuurio cia kũirigĩra nja, na gĩtambaya gĩa gũcuurio gĩa itoonyero rĩa nja ĩrĩa ĩthiũrũkĩirie Hema ĩyo nyamũre na kĩgongona na mĩhĩndo, na indo ciothe iria ikonainie na wĩra wacio.
27 And of Kehath: the family of the 'Amramites, and the family of the Yizharites, and the family of the Chebronites, and the family of the 'Uzzielites; these are the families of the Kehathites.
Kohathu aarĩ na mbarĩ cia Aamuramu, na Aiziharu, na Ahebironi, na Auzieli; icio nĩcio ciarĩ mbarĩ cia Akohathu.
28 By the numbering of all the males, from a month old and upward, they were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.
Arũme arĩa othe maakinyĩtie mweri ũmwe na makĩria maarĩ andũ 8,600. Wĩra wa Akohathu warĩ wa kũmenyerera harĩa haamũre.
29 The families of the sons of Kehath used to encamp on the side of the tabernacle, southward.
Mbarĩ cia Akohathu ciarĩ ciambage hema mwena wa gũthini wa Hema-ĩrĩa-Nyamũre.
30 And the prince of the division of the families of the Kehathites was Elizaphan the son of 'Uzziel.
Mũtongoria wa nyũmba cia mbarĩ cia Akohathu aarĩ Elizafani mũrũ wa Uzieli.
31 And their charge was the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary which are used for the service, and the vail, and all belonging thereto.
Wĩra wao warĩ wa kũmenyerera ithandũkũ rĩa kĩrĩkanĩro, na metha, na mũtĩ ũrĩa wa kũigĩrĩrwo matawa, na igongona, na indo cia gũtũmĩrwo harĩa haamũre, na gĩtambaya gĩa gũcuurio gĩa kũhakania, o na indo ciothe ciakonainie na mũhũthĩrĩre wacio.
32 And the chief over the princes of the Levites was Elazar the son of Aaron the priest, having the oversight of those that kept the charge of the sanctuary.
Mũtongoria mũnene wa Alawii aarĩ Eleazaru mũrũ wa Harũni, ũrĩa mũthĩnjĩri-Ngai. Nĩwe watuirwo mũrũgamĩrĩri wa arĩa maamenyagĩrĩra harĩa haamũre.
33 Of Merari: the family of the Machlites, and the family of the Mushites; these are the families of Merari.
Merari aarĩ na mbarĩ cia Amahali na Amushi; icio nĩcio ciarĩ mbarĩ cia Merari.
34 And those that were numbered of them, by the numbering of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred.
Arũme arĩa othe maatarirwo arĩa maakinyĩtie mweri ũmwe na makĩria maarĩ andũ 6,200.
35 And the chief of the division of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abichayil: they used to encamp on the side of the tabernacle, northward.
Mũtongoria wa nyũmba cia mbarĩ ya Merari aarĩ Zurieli mũrũ wa Abihaili; nao maarĩ maambage hema mwena wa gathigathini wa Hema-ĩrĩa-Nyamũre.
36 And under the custody and charge of the sons of Merari were the boards of the tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its sockets, and all its vessels, and all that belongeth thereto,
Amerari maamũrirwo mamenyagĩrĩre buremu ya hema ĩrĩa yaamũrĩtwo, na mĩgĩĩko yayo, na itugĩ, na itina ciacio, o na indo ciothe ciayo cia wĩra, na indo ciothe ciakonainie na mũhũthĩrĩre wacio,
37 And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.
o na mamenyagĩrĩre itugĩ iria ciirigĩte nja yayo hamwe na itina ciacio, na higĩ cia hema na mĩhĩĩndo yayo.
38 But those that encamped before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation toward the rising of the sun, were Moses, and Aaron, and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that came nigh was to be put to death.
Musa na Harũni na ariũ ake maarĩ mambage hema ciao mwena wa irathĩro wa Hema-ĩyo-Nyamũre, mangʼetheire irathĩro, o hau mbere ya Hema-ya-Gũtũnganwo. Wĩra wao warĩ wa kũmenyerera harĩa haamũre ithenya rĩa andũ a Isiraeli. Mũndũ ũngĩ o wothe ũngĩakuhĩrĩirie hau haamũre aarĩ ooragwo.
39 All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses numbered with Aaron, at the order of the Lord, according to their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.
Alawii arĩa othe maatarirwo ta ũrĩa Jehova aathĩte Musa na Harũni kũringana na mbarĩ ciao, hamwe na arũme othe arĩa maakinyĩtie mweri ũmwe na makĩria, maarĩ andũ 22,000.
40 And the Lord said unto Moses, Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.
Nake Jehova akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ, “Tara marigithathi ma arũme othe ma andũ a Isiraeli arĩa makinyĩtie mweri ũmwe na makĩria, na wandĩke marĩĩtwa mao.
41 And thou shalt take the Levites for me, I am the Lord, instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the first-born among the cattle of the children of Israel.
Nyamũrĩra Alawii handũ ha marigithathi mothe ma andũ a Isiraeli; o naguo ũhiũ wa Alawii ũwaamũre handũ ha marigithathi mothe ma mahiũ ma andũ a Isiraeli. Niĩ nĩ niĩ Jehova.”
42 And Moses numbered, as the Lord had commanded him, all the first-born among the children of Israel.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Musa agĩtara marigithathi mothe ma andũ a Isiraeli, o ta ũrĩa Jehova aamwathĩte.
43 And all the first-born males, by the numbering of the names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and seventy and three.
Marigithathi mothe ma arũme arĩa maakinyĩtie mweri ũmwe na makĩria, maandĩkwo na marĩĩtwa mao, maarĩ andũ 22,273.
44 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Ningĩ Jehova akĩĩra Musa atĩrĩ,
45 Take the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the Lord.
“Amũra Alawii handũ ha marigithathi mothe ma andũ a Isiraeli, naguo ũhiũ wa Alawii ũwaamũre handũ ha mahiũ mao. Alawii megũtuĩka akwa. Niĩ nĩ niĩ Jehova.
46 And [for] those that are to be redeemed, the two hundred and seventy and three of the first-born of the children of Israel, who are more than the Levites,
Gũkũũra marigithathi macio 273 ma andũ a Isiraeli, acio makĩrĩte mũigana wa Alawii-rĩ,
47 Thou shalt take five shekels apiece for the poll; after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take, twenty gerahs to the shekel;
oya cekeri ithano irũgamĩrĩre o mũndũ, kũringana na cekeri ya handũ-harĩa-haamũre, ĩrĩa ũritũ wayo ũrĩ gera mĩrongo ĩĩrĩ.
48 And thou shalt give unto Aaron and to his sons the money, [for] those who are to be redeemed of those that are over the number of them.

49 And Moses took the redemption-money of those that were over in number above those who were redeemed by the Levites:
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Musa akĩũngania mbeeca cia gũkũũra andũ acio maakĩrĩte mũigana wa andũ arĩa maakũũrĩtwo nĩ Alawii.
50 Of the first-born of the children of Israel did he take the money; a thousand three hundred and sixty and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.
Kuuma kũrĩ marigithathi ma andũ a Isiraeli, akĩũngania betha ya ũritũ wa cekeri 1,365 kũringana na cekeri ya handũ-harĩa-haamũre.
51 And Moses gave the money of those who were redeemed unto Aaron and unto his sons, by the order of the Lord; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Musa akĩnengera Harũni na ariũ ake mbeeca icio ciakũũrĩte andũ, o ta ũrĩa aathĩtwo nĩ kiugo kĩa Jehova.
