Numbers 24
1 And when Bil'am saw that it was pleasing in the eyes of the Lord to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
১বিলিয়ম যখন দেখল, ইস্রায়েলকে আশীর্বাদ করতে সদাপ্রভু আনন্দিত, তখন আর আগের মত জাদুবিদ্যা ব্যবহার করার জন্য গেল না, কিন্তু মরুপ্রান্তের দিকে তাকিয়ে রইল।
2 And Bil'am lifted up his eyes, and when he saw Israel encamped according to their tribes, there came upon him the spirit of God.
২আর বিলিয়ম চোখ তুলে দেখল, ইস্রায়েল তাদের বংশ অনুসারে শিবির করেছে এবং ঈশ্বরের আত্মা তাঁর উপরে আসলেন।
3 And he took up his parable, and said, Thus saith Bil'am the son of Beor, and thus saith the man whose eyes are open;
৩সে তাঁর ভাববাণী গ্রহণ করে বলল, “বিয়োরের ছেলে বিলিয়ম বলছে, যার চোখ ভালোভাবে খোলা ছিল, সেই পুরুষ বলছে,
4 Thus saith he who heareth the sayings of God, who seeth the vision of the Almighty, falling down, with unvailed eyes:
৪যে ঈশ্বরের বাক্যগুলি শোনে, সে সর্বশক্তিমানের দর্শন পায়, সে নত ও খোলা চোখে বলছে।
5 How beautiful are thy tents, O Jacob, thy dwelling, O Israel!
৫যাকোব, তোমার তাঁবুগুলি কত সুন্দর, হে ইস্রায়েল, যেখানে তুমি বাস কর!
6 As streams are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as aloe-trees, which the Lord hath planted, as cedar-trees beside the waters.
৬সেগুলি উপত্যকার মত বিস্তারিত, নদীর তীরের বাগানের মত, সদাপ্রভুর রোপণ করা জোলাপের মত, জলের ধারের এরস গাছের মত।
7 Water runneth out of His buckets, that his seed may be moistened by abundance of water; and exalted above Agag shall be his king, and raised on high shall be his kingdom.
৭তাদের কলসী থেকে জল উথলে উঠবে, তার বীজ গভীর জলে পরিপূর্ণ হবে, তাদের রাজা অগাগের থেকেও মহত্তম হবে, তার রাজ্য উন্নত হবে।
8 God, who brought him forth out of Egypt, is to him like the heights of the reem; he will devour nations, his oppressors, and their bones will he break, and pierce [them] through with his arrows.
৮ঈশ্বর মিশর থেকে তাকে এনেছেন, সে বন্য ষাঁড়ের মত শক্তিশালী। সে তার বিপক্ষ জাতিদেরকে গিলে খাবে, তাদের হাড় চূরমার করে দেবে, নিজের বাণ দিয়ে তাদেরকে ভেদ করবে।
9 He coucheth, he lieth down as a lion, and as a lioness: who shall make him rise up? They that bless thee be blessed, and they that curse thee be cursed.
৯সে গুঁড়িসুটি মারল, সিংহের মত ও সিংহীর মত। কার তাকে বিরক্ত করার সাহস আছে? যে তাকে আশীর্বাদ করে, সে আশীর্বাদ প্রাপ্ত হয়, যে তাকে অভিশাপ দেয়, সে অভিশপ্ত হয়।”
10 And the anger of Balak was kindled against Bil'am, and he struck his hands together: and Balak said unto Bil'am, To denounce my enemies did I call thee, and, behold, thou hast even blessed them these three times.
১০তখন বিলিয়মের প্রতি বালাক রাগে জ্বলে উঠলে তিনি নিজের হাতে আঘাত করলেন। বালাক বিলিয়মকে বললেন, “আমার শত্রুদেরকে অভিশাপ দিতে আমি আপনাকে এনেছিলাম, আর দেখুন, এই তিনবার আপনি তাদেরকে আশীর্বাদ করলেন।
11 And now flee thou to thy place: I thought to honor thee greatly; but, lo, the Lord hath kept thee back from honor.
১১এখন নিজের জায়গায় পালিয়ে যান। আমি বলেছিলাম, আপনাকে ভালো পুরষ্কার দেব, কিন্তু দেখুন, সদাপ্রভু আপনাকে পুরষ্কার বিহীন করলেন।”
12 And Bil'am said unto Balak, Did I not already speak to thy messengers, whom thou sentest unto me, saying,
১২তাতে বিলিয়ম বালাককে বলল, “আমি কি আপনার পাঠানো দূতেদের সাক্ষাৎেই বলিনি,
13 If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not transgress the order of the Lord, to do good or evil out of my own heart: what the Lord will speak, that must I speak?
১৩যতই বালাক সোনা ও রূপাই ভর্তি নিজের বাড়ি আমাকে দেন, তবুও আমি নিজের ইচ্ছায় ভাল কি মন্দ করার জন্য সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ অমান্য করতে পারব না। সদাপ্রভু যা বলবেন, আমি তাই বলতে পারব?
14 And now, behold, I am going unto my people: come, I will advise thee against what this people will do to thy people in the end of days.
১৪এখন দেখুন, আমি নিজের লোকেদের কাছে ফিরে যাই। আসুন, এই জাতি আগামী দিনের আপনার জাতির সঙ্গে কি করবে, তা আপনাকে জানাই।”
15 And he took up his parable and said, Thus saith Bil'am the son of Beor, and thus saith the man whose eyes are open;
১৫পরে সে তার ভাববাণী গ্রহণ করে বলল, “বিয়োরের ছেলে বিলিয়ম বলছে, যার চোখ ভালোভাবে খোলা ছিল, সেই পুরুষ বলছে।
16 Thus saith he who heareth the sayings of God, and knoweth the knowledge of the Most High, who seeth the vision of the Almighty, falling down, with unvailed eyes:
১৬যে ঈশ্বরের বাক্যগুলি শোনে, যে পরাৎপরের প্রজ্ঞা জানে, যে সর্বশক্তিমানের দর্শন পায়, সে নত ও খোলা চোখে বলছে।
17 I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not nigh; there steppeth forth a star out of Jacob, and there ariseth a sceptre out of Israel, and he pierceth the chiefs of Moab, and destroyeth all the children of Sheth.
১৭আমি তাকে দেখব, কিন্তু এখন নয়, তাঁকে দর্শন করব, কিন্তু কাছাকাছি নয়। যাকোবের থেকে একটি তারা উঠবে, ইস্রায়েল থেকে একটি রাজদণ্ড উঠবে, তা মোয়াবের নেতাদের ধ্বংস করবে, সেথের সমস্ত সন্তানদের হত্যা করবে।
18 And Edom shall be a conquest, and Seir shall be a conquest for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
১৮তখন ইদোম ইস্রায়েলের অধিকারে হবে, তার শত্রু সেয়ীরও তাদের অধিকারে হবে, আর ইস্রায়েল বীরের কাজ করবে।
19 And there shall rule the one from Jacob, and he shall destroy whatever escapeth out of the city.
১৯যাকোব থেকে একজন রাজা আসবেন যে কর্তৃত্ব করবেন এবং শহরের অবশিষ্ট লোকদেরকে বিনষ্ট করবেন।”
20 And he looked on Amalek, and he took up his parable, and said, The first of nations is Amalek; but his latter end shall be destruction for ever.
২০তখন বিলিয়ম অমালেকের দিকে তাকিয়ে তার ভাববাণী শুরু করল। সে বলল, “অমালেক জাতিদের মধ্যে প্রথম ছিল, কিন্তু বিনাশ এর শেষ দশা হবে।”
21 And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwelling-place, and placed on the rock is thy nest.
২১তখন বিলিয়ম কেনীয়দের দিকে তাকিয়ে তার ভাববাণী শুরু করল। সে বলল, “যেখানে তুমি বসবাস কর সেটা মজবুত, তোমার বাসা শিলাতে স্থাপিত।
22 Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted: whither will Asshur carry thee away captive?
২২তবুও কেন ক্ষয় পাবে, শেষে অশূর তোমাকে বন্দি করে নিয়ে যাবে।”
23 And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doth appoint this one?
২৩তখন বিলিয়ম তার সর্বশেষ ভাববাণী শুরু করল। সে বলল, “হায়! যখন ঈশ্বর এইসব করবেন, তখন কে বাঁচবে?
24 But ships will come from the coast of Kittim, and will afflict Asshur, and will afflict 'Eber; and he also will be given to destruction for ever.
২৪কিত্তীমের তীর থেকে জাহাজ আসবে; তারা অশূরকে দুঃখ দেবে, এবরকে দুঃখ দেবে, কিন্তু তাদেরও বিনাশ ঘটবে।”
25 And Bil'am rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
২৫তখন বিলিয়ম উঠে তার বাড়ি ফিরে গেল এবং বালাকও নিজের পথে চলে গেলেন।
