1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

2 Every man by his own standard, by the ensign of their family division, shall the children of Israel pitch their tent; at some distance round about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they encamp.
Israeliterne skal lejre sig hver under sit Felttegn, under sit Fædrenehus's Mærke; i en Kreds om Aabenbaringsteltet skal de lejre sig.
3 And they, who encamp on the east, toward the rising of the sun, shall be [those who belong to] the standard of the camp of Judah according to their armies: and the prince of the children of Judah shall be Nachshon the son of 'Amminadab.
Paa Forsiden mod Øst skal Juda lejre sig under sin Lejrs Felttegn, Hærafdeling for Hærafdeling, med Nahasjon, Amminadabs Søn, som Øverste over Judæerne;
4 And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were seventy and four thousand and six hundred.

5 And those that encamp next unto him shall be the tribe of Issachar: and the prince of the children of Issachar shall be Nethanel the son of Zuar.

6 And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.

7 [Then] the tribe of Zebulun: and the prince of the children of Zebulun shall be Eliab the son of Chelon.

8 And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.

9 All that were numbered of the camp of Judah were one hundred thousand and eighty thousand and six thousand and four hundred, according to their armies: they shall first set forward.
De mønstrede i Judas Lejr udgør i alt 186 400 Mand, Hærafdeling for Hærafdeling. De skal bryde op først.
10 The standard of the camp of Reuben shall be on the south side, according to their armies: and the prince of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.
Ruben skal lejre sig under sin Lejrs Felttegn mod Syd, Hærafdeling for Hærafdeling, med Elizur, Sjede'urs Søn, som Øverste over Rubeniterne;
11 And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.

12 And those that encamp by him shall be the tribe of Simeon: and the prince of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of 'Zurishaddai.

13 And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.

14 Then the tribe of Gad: and the prince of the sons of Gad shall be Elyassaph the son of Reuel.

15 And his host, and those who were numbered of them, were forty and five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

16 All that were numbered of the camp of Reuben were one hundred thousand and fifty and one thousand and four hundred and fifty, according to their armies; and as the second shall they set forward.
De mønstrede i Rubens Lejr udgør i alt 151 450 Mand, Hærafdeling for Hærafdeling. De skal bryde op i anden Række.
17 Then shall the tabernacle of the congregation, the camp of the Levites, set forward in the midst of the camps: as they encamp, so shall they set forward, every man in his place after their standards.
Derpaa skal Aabenbaringsteltet, Leviternes Lejr, bryde op midt imellem de andre Lejre; i den Rækkefølge, de lejrer sig, skal de bryde op, hver paa sin Plads, Felttegn for Felttegn.
18 The standard of the camp of Ephraim shall be on the west side, according to their armies: and the prince of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of 'Ammihud.
Efraim skal lejre sig under sin Lejrs Felttegn mod Vest med Elisjama, Ammihuds Søn, som Øverste over Efraimiterne;
19 And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty thousand and five hundred.
de mønstrede, som udgør hans Hærafdeling, løber op til 40 500 Mand.
20 And by him shall be the tribe of Menasseh; and the prince of the children of Menasseh shall be Gamliel the son of Pedahzur.
Ved Siden af ham skal Manasses Stamme lejre sig med Gamliel, Pedazurs Søn, som Øverste over Manassiterne;
21 And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred.
de mønstrede, som udgør hans Hærafdeling, løber op til 32 200 Mand.
22 Then the tribe of Benjamin: and the prince of the sons of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gidoni.
Dernæst Benjamins Stamme med Abidan, Gid'onis Søn, som Øverste over Benjaminiterne;
23 And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred.

24 All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were one hundred thousand and eight thousand and one hundred, according to their armies; and as the third shall they set forward.

25 The standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the north side, according to their armies: and the prince of the children of Dan shall be Achiezer the son of 'Ammishaddai.
Dan skal lejre sig under sin Lejrs Felttegn mod Nord, Hærafdeling for Hærafdeling, med Ahiezer, Ammisjaddajs Søn, som Øverste over Daniterne;
26 And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were sixty and two thousand and seven hundred.

27 And those that encamp by him shall be the tribe of Asher: and the prince of the children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of 'Ochran.
Ved Siden af ham skal Asers Stamme lejre sig med Pag'iel, Okrans Søn, som Øverste over Aseriterne;
28 And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.

29 Then the tribe of Naphtali: and the prince of the children of Naphtali shall be Achira the son of 'Enan.
Dernæst Naftalis Stamme med Ahira, Enans Søn, som Øverste over Naftaliterne;
30 And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

31 All those that were numbered of the camp of Dan were one hundred thousand and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred; the hindmost shall they set forward according to their standards.
De mønstrede i Dans Lejr udgør i alt 157 600 Mand. De skal bryde op sidst, Felttegn for Felttegn.
32 These are those that were numbered of the children of Israel according to their family divisions: and all those that were numbered of the camps, according to their armies, were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
Det var de mønstrede af Israeliterne efter deres Fædrenehuse, alle de mønstrede i Lejrene, Hærafdeling for Hærafdeling, 603 550 Mand.
33 But the Levites were not numbered among the children of Israel; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Men Leviterne mønstredes ikke sammen med de andre Israeliter, saaledes som HERREN havde paalagt Moses.
34 And the children of Israel did all just as the Lord had commanded Moses, so did they encamp by their standards, and so did they set forward every one after his family, by his division.
Og ganske som HERREN havde paalagt Moses, slog Israeliterne Lejr, Felttegn for Felttegn, og i den Rækkefølge brød de op, enhver med sine Slægter, med sit Fædrenehus.
