1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after their going out of the land of Egypt, saying,
Hierauf gebot der HERR dem Mose in der Wüste Sinai, im Offenbarungszelt, am ersten Tage des zweiten Monats im zweiten Jahr nach ihrem Auszug aus dem Lande Ägypten folgendes:
2 Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, every male according to their polls;
»Nehmt die Kopfzahl der gesamten Gemeinde der Israeliten auf nach ihren Geschlechtern und nach ihren Familien, mit Aufzählung der einzelnen Namen, alle männlichen Personen Kopf für Kopf;
3 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: these shall ye number according to their armies, thou and Aaron.
von zwanzig Jahren an und darüber, alles, was in Israel zum Heeresdienst tauglich ist, die sollt ihr mustern, Schar für Schar, du und Aaron.
4 And with you there shall be one man each of every tribe; a man who is the head of his family division.
Dabei soll euch je ein Mann von jedem Stamm Beistand leisten, nämlich der Obmann der Familien seines Stammes.
5 And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you; of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.
Und dies sind die Namen der Männer, die euch dabei zur Seite stehen sollen: für Ruben: Elizur, der Sohn Sedeurs;
6 Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
für Simeon: Selumiel, der Sohn Zurisaddais;
7 Of Judah: Nachshon the son of 'Amminadab.
für Juda: Nahson, der Sohn Amminadabs;
8 Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar.
für Issaschar: Nethaneel, der Sohn Zuars;
9 Of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Chelon.
für Sebulon: Eliab, der Sohn Helons;
10 Of the children of Joseph, of Ephraim: Elishama the son of 'Ammihud; of Menasseh: Gamliel the son of Pedahzur.

11 Of Benjamin: Abidan the son of Gidoni.

13 Of Asher: Pagiel the son of 'Ochran.

14 Of Gad: Elyassaph the son of Deuel.

15 Of Naphtali: Achira the son of 'Enan.

16 These were the selected of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; the heads of the thousands of Israel were they.
Dies waren die aus der Gemeinde Berufenen, die Fürsten ihrer väterlichen Stämme, die Häupter der Tausendschaften Israels.
17 And Moses and Aaron took these men who are expressed by name:
Hierauf ließen Mose und Aaron diese Männer, die ihnen mit Namen bezeichnet worden waren, zu sich kommen
18 And all the congregation they assembled together on the first day of the second month, and they were enrolled in the lists of their pedigrees after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, according to their polls.
und versammelten dann die ganze Gemeinde am ersten Tage des zweiten Monats. Da ließen sie sich in die Geburtsverzeichnisse eintragen nach ihren Geschlechtern und nach ihren Familien, mit Aufzählung der einzelnen Namen, von zwanzig Jahren an und darüber, Kopf für Kopf;
19 As the Lord had commanded Moses, so did he number them in the wilderness of Sinai.
wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte, so musterte er sie in der Wüste Sinai.
20 And there were of the children of Reuben the first-born of Israel, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
Es beliefen sich aber die Nachkommen Rubens, des erstgeborenen Sohnes Israels, ihre Abkömmlinge nach ihren Geschlechtern und nach ihren Familien, nach der Zahl der einzelnen Namen, Kopf für Kopf, alle männlichen Personen von zwanzig Jahren an und darüber, alles, was zum Heeresdienst tauglich war,
21 Those that were numbered of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.

22 Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, those that were numbered of them, by numbering the names according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

43 Those that were numbered of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

44 These are those that were numbered, whom Moses numbered with Aaron, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men; one man each for his family division were they.
Dies sind die Gemusterten, die Mose und Aaron mit den Fürsten der Israeliten musterten; die letzteren waren zwölf Männer, und zwar je ein Mann für die zu seinem Stamm gehörigen Familien.
45 Thus were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the descent from their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel, —
Und es beliefen sich alle, die von den Israeliten nach ihren Familien, von zwanzig Jahren an und darüber, gemustert worden waren, alles, was in Israel zum Heeresdienst tauglich war –
46 Even all they that were numbered, were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
es beliefen sich also alle Gemusterten auf 603550.
47 But the Levites, after the tribe of their fathers, were not numbered among them.
Die Leviten aber nach ihrem väterlichen Stamm waren in dieser Musterung nicht inbegriffen.
48 For the Lord had spoken unto Moses, saying,
Der HERR hatte nämlich dem Mose folgendes geboten:
49 Only the tribe of Levi shalt thou not number, and their sum shalt thou not take, among the children of Israel;
»Nur die zum Stamm Levi Gehörigen sollst du nicht mustern und ihre Kopfzahl nicht mit den übrigen Israeliten aufnehmen;
50 But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its vessels, and over all things that belong to it: they shall carry the tabernacle, and all its vessels; and they shall minister unto it; and round about the tabernacle shall they encamp.
sondern bestelle du die Leviten zum Dienst an der Wohnung des Gesetzes und über ihre sämtlichen Geräte und über alles, was zu ihr gehört: sie sollen die Wohnung und ihre sämtlichen Geräte tragen, und sie sollen den Dienst an ihr versehen und rings um die Wohnung her lagern.
51 And when the tabernacle is to be carried forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
Und wenn die Wohnung weiter wandert, sollen die Leviten sie abbrechen; und wenn die Wohnung halt macht, sollen die Leviten sie aufschlagen; jeder Nichtzugehörige aber, der an sie herantritt, soll sterben.
52 And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their armies.
Und die übrigen Israeliten sollen nach ihren Heerscharen ein jeder auf seinem Lagerplatz und ein jeder bei seiner Fahne lagern;
53 But the Levites shall encamp round shout the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.
die Leviten aber sollen rings um die Wohnung des Gesetzes her lagern, damit kein Zorn Gottes über die Gemeinde der Israeliten hereinbricht. Die Leviten sollen also den Dienst an der Wohnung des Gesetzes versehen.«
54 And the children of Israel did so: all, just as the Lord had commanded Moses, so did they.
So machten denn die Israeliten alles genau so, wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte.
