< Nehemiah 8 >

1 And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the open place which is before the water-gate; and they said unto 'Ezra the expounder that he should bring forward the book of the law of Moses, which the Lord commanded to Israel.
ji duto nochokore kanyakla e laru manie e nyim kama iluongo ni Dhoranga Pi. Ne gikone Ezra, japuonj chik mondo okel Kitabu mar Chik mar Musa, ma Jehova Nyasaye ne osechiko jo-Israel.
2 Then did 'Ezra the priest bring forward the law before the congregation both of men and women, and every one that had understanding to listen [attentively], on the first day of the seventh month;
Omiyo e odiechiengʼ mokwongo mar dwe mar abiriyo, Ezra jadolo nokelo chik e nyim kanyakla mar ji, mane otingʼo chwo kod mon kod jogo duto mane nyalo winjo tiend chike.
3 And he read therein in the open place which is before the water-gate from the first daylight until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand: and the ears of all the people were directed unto the book of the law.
Nosomo chikego matek ayanga chakre okinyi nyaka odiechiengʼ tir e nyim chwo, mon kod joma moko mane nyalo winjo tiend chikego kochungʼ momanyore gi laru mar ka miluongo ni Dhoranga Pi. Kendo ji duto nochiko itgi malongʼo ne gik mondikie Kitabu mar Chik.
4 And 'Ezra the expounder stood upon an elevated stand of wood, which they had made for the purpose: and beside him stood Matthithyah, and Shema', and 'Anayah, and Uriyah, and Chilkiyah, and Ma'asseyah, on his right hand; and on his left, Pedayah, and Mishael, and Malkiyah, and Chashum, and Chashbadanah, Zechariah, [and] Meshullam.
Ezra japuonj chik nochungʼ ewi bao motingʼore gi malo mane oger nikech nyasini. E bathe yo korachwich ne nitie Matithia, Shema, Anaya, Uria, Hilkia, kod Maseya; to yo koracham ne nitie Pedaya, Mishael, Malkija, Hashum, Hashbadana, Zekaria kod Meshulam.
5 And 'Ezra opened the book before the eyes of all the people; for he was [standing] higher than all the people; and as he opened it, all the people became silent.
Ezra noelo kitabuno kendo ji duto ne nyalo nene nikech nochungʼ kama otingʼore gi malo moyombogi; to kane oele, ji duto nochungʼ malo.
6 And 'Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God: and all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands; and they bowed their heads, and prostrated themselves before the Lord with their faces to the ground.
Ezra nopako Jehova Nyasaye, Nyasaye Maduongʼ, kendo ji duto notingʼo bedegi malo mi gidwoko niya, “Amin! Amin!” Bangʼe negipodho auma mi gilamo Jehova Nyasaye ka gikulo wiyegi piny.
7 Also Jeshua', and Bani, and Sherebyah, Jamin, 'Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiyah, Ma'asseyah, Kelita, 'Azaryah, Jozabad, Chanan, Pelayah, and the Levites, explained to the people the law: while the people remained where they stood.
Jo-Lawi mane opuonjo ji chike ka jogo ochungʼ kanyo ne gin: Jeshua, Bani, Sherebia, Jamin, Akub, Shabethai, Hodia, Maseya, Kelita, Azaria, Jozabad, Hanan kod Peleya.
8 So they read in the book, in the law of God distinctly, and exhibiting the sense: so that [the people] understood what was read.
Ne gisomo Kitabu mar Chik mar Nyasaye, ka gilero tiende kendo gichiwo tiend chik mondo ji owinj malongʼo gima isomo.
9 Then said Nehemiah, that is the Thirshatha, and 'Ezra the priest the expounder, and the Levites that explained to the people, unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God: mourn not, and weep not. For all the people were weeping, when they heard the words of the law.
Bangʼe Nehemia ma jatelo, Ezra jadolo kendo japuonj chik, kod jo-Lawi mane puonjo ji nowachonegi duto niya, “Odiechiengni owal ne Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachu. Kik uywagi kendo kik ugo nduru.” Nimar ji duto nosebedo ka goyo nduru kane gichiko itgi ka giwinjo weche manie Chik.
10 Then said he unto them, Go your way, eat fat things, and drink sweet drinks, and send portions unto him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy unto our Lord: and do not grieve yourselves; but let the joy of the Lord be your stronghold.
Nehemia nowacho niya, “Dhiuru kendo ubed moil ka uchamo chiemo moyier kod math mamit, bangʼe uor moko ne joma onge gi gima gichamo. Odiechiengni owalne Ruodhwa. Kik ubed gi kuyo, nikech mor mar Jehova Nyasaye e tekou.”
11 So the Levites quieted all the people, saying, Be still! for the day is holy: and do not grieve yourselves.
Jo-Lawi nokweyo jogo duto kawacho niya, “Kik chunyu chandre, nikech odiechiengni en odiechiengʼ mowal, bende kik ubed gi kuyo.”
12 And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send out portions, and to prepare for themselves great joy: because they had understood the words which [the others] had made known unto them.
Bangʼe ji duto nodhi mondo gichiem kendo gimethi, gior bath chiemo kendo gitim nyasi gi ilo maduongʼ, nikech koro ne gisengʼeyo tiend weche mane osomnegi.
13 And on the second day there gathered themselves together the chiefs of the divisions of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto 'Ezra the expounder, to obtain again intelligence of the words of the law.
E odiechiengʼ mar ariyo mar dwe, jotend anywola duto, kaachiel gi jodolo kod jo-Lawi, nochokore but Ezra jandiko mondo gichik itgi malongʼo ni weche manie Chik.
14 And they found written in the law that the Lord had commanded through means of Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths during the feast in the seventh month.
Gigo mane giyudo kondik ei Chik mane Jehova Nyasaye owacho kokalo kuom Musa, ni jo-Israel nyaka dagi e kambi e kinde mar nyasi mar dwe mar abiriyo,
15 And [they ordered] that they should publish and have proclamation made throughout all their cities, and through Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mountain and fetch olive-leaves, and oleaster-leaves, and myrtle-leaves, and palm-leaves, and leaves of the three-leaved myrtle, to make booths, as it is written.
kendo ni nyaka giyal wachni mi gilande e miechgi matindo kod e Jerusalem niya, “Wuoguru udhi e pinje mag gode kendo ukel bede moaye yadh zeituni kod yiende mag bungu mag zeituni, kendo koa e yiend madat, kor yiend othith kod yiende man-gi tipo, mondo losgo kambi,” mana kaka ondiki.
16 And the people went forth, and brought them; and they made themselves booths, every one upon his roof, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the open place by the water-gate, and in the open place by the gate of Ephraim.
Omiyo ji nowuok kendo negidwogo gi bede yien mi gigero kambi ewi tat utegi giwegi, e laru mag-gi, e laru mar od Nyasaye kod laru man but kama iluongo ni Dhoranga Pi, to machielo manie Dhoranga Efraim.
17 And all the congregation that were returned out of the captivity made booths, and dwelt in the booths; for since the days of Jeshua' the son of Nun until that day the children of Israel had not done so. And there was very great joy.
Oganda duto mane odwogo koa e twech nogero kambi mag dak mi gidakie. Kochakore ndalo Joshua wuod Nun nyaka e odiechiengno, jo-Israel ne pod ok obedo gi nyasi machalo gi ma; kendo ne gin gi mor maduongʼ miwuoro.
18 And he read in the book of the law of God, day by day, from the first day until the last day. And they celebrated the feast seven days, and on the eighth day the solemn assembly, after the prescribed manner.
Odiechiengʼ ka odiechiengʼ, chakre odiechiengʼ mokwongo nyaka mogik, Ezra ne somo Kitap Chik mar Nyasaye. Negitimo nyasini kuom ndalo abiriyo, to chiengʼ mar aboro, kaluwore gi chik, ne nitiere chokruok mar kanyakla.
