Nehemiah 11
1 And the rulers of the people dwelt at Jerusalem: and the rest of the people cast lots, to bring one of every ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and the nine parts to [remain] in the [other] cities.
Hierauf nahmen die Obersten des Volkes ihren Wohnsitz in Jerusalem; das übrige Volk aber bestimmte durch das Los je den zehnten Mann dazu, sich in der heiligen Stadt Jerusalem anzusiedeln, während die übrigen neun Zehntel in den Ortschaften (des Landes) wohnen bleiben sollten.
2 And the people blessed all the men, that offered themselves voluntarily to dwell at Jerusalem.
Das Volk aber hieß alle Leute willkommen, die sich freiwillig zur Niederlassung in Jerusalem erboten.
3 Now these are the chiefs of the province that dwelt in Jerusalem; but in the cities of Judah dwelt every one in his possession in their cities, [to wit, ] Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the temple-servants, and the children of Solomon's servants.
Und dies sind die Häupter des Bezirks, die sich in Jerusalem und in den Ortschaften Judas niedergelassen haben, und zwar ein jeder auf seinem Besitztum in den dortigen Ortschaften: die (gewöhnlichen) Israeliten, die Priester und die Leviten, die Tempelhörigen und die Nachkommen der Leibeigenen Salomos.
4 And at Jerusalem dwelt certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah: 'Athayah the son of 'Uzziyah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amaryah, the son of Shephatyah, the son of Mahalalel, of the children of Perez:
In Jerusalem haben sich sowohl Judäer als auch Benjaminiten niedergelassen, und zwar von den Judäern: Athaja, der Sohn Ussijas, des Sohnes Sacharjas, des Sohnes Amarjas, des Sohnes Sephatjas, des Sohnes Mahalaleels, von den Nachkommen des Perez;
5 And Ma'asseyah the son of Baruch, the son of Kol-chozeh, the son of Chazayah, the son of 'Adayah, the son of Joyarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of Hashiloni;
ferner Maaseja, der Sohn Baruchs, des Sohnes Kol-Hoses, des Sohnes Hasajas, des Sohnes Adajas, des Sohnes Jojaribs, des Sohnes Sacharjas, des Sohnes des Siloniten.
6 All the sons of Perez that dwelt at Jerusalem were four hundred sixty and eight valiant men.
Die Gesamtzahl der Nachkommen des Perez, die in Jerusalem wohnten, betrug 468, tüchtige Männer. –
7 And these are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Jo'ed, the son of Pedayah, the son of Kolayah, the son of Ma'asseyah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jessha'yah;
Und dies sind die Benjaminiten: Sallu, der Sohn Mesullams, des Sohnes Joeds, des Sohnes Pedajas, des Sohnes Kolajas, des Sohnes Maasejas, des Sohnes Ithiels, des Sohnes Jesajas,
8 And next to him Gabbai, Sallai; nine hundred twenty and eight.
und seine Genossen, wehrhafte Krieger, 928 an der Zahl. –
9 And Joel the son of Zichri was overseer over them; and Judah the son of Hassenuah was second over the city.
Joel aber, der Sohn Sichris, war ihr Vorsteher; und Juda, der Sohn Hassenuas, war zweiter Aufseher über die Stadt. –
10 Of the priests: Jedayah the son of Joyarib, Jachin:
Von den Priestern: Jedaja, der Sohn Jojaribs, Jachin,
11 Serayah the son of Chilkiyah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Merayoth, the son of Achitub, the superintendent of the house of God;
Seraja, der Sohn Hilkijas, des Sohnes Mesullams, des Sohnes Zadoks, des Sohnes Merajoths, des Sohnes Ahitubs, der Fürst über das Haus Gottes,
12 And their brethren who did the work of the house, eight hundred twenty and two; and 'Adayah the son of Jerocham, the son of Pelalyah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashchur, the son of Malkiyah;
und ihre Genossen, die den heiligen Dienst im Hause Gottes besorgten, 822 an Zahl; ferner Adaja, der Sohn Jerohams, des Sohnes Pelaljas, des Sohnes Amzis, des Sohnes Sacharjas, des Sohnes Pashurs, des Sohnes Malkijas,
13 And his brethren, chiefs of the divisions, two hundred forty and two; and 'Amashsai the son of 'Azarel, the son of Achsai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer;
und seine Genossen, 242, Familienhäupter; ferner Amassai, der Sohn Asareels, des Sohnes Ahsais, des Sohnes Mesillemoths, des Sohnes Immers,
14 And their brethren, mighty men of valor, one hundred twenty and eight; and the overseer over them was Zabdiel, the son of Haggedolim.
und ihre Genossen, tüchtige Männer, 128 an der Zahl; ihr Vorsteher war Sabdiel, der Sohn Haggedolims. –
15 Also of the Levites: Shema'yah the son of Chasshub, the son of 'Azrikam, the son of Chashabyah, the son of Bunni;
Ferner von den Leviten: Semaja, der Sohn Hassubs, des Sohnes Asrikams, des Sohnes Hasabjas, des Sohnes Bunnis;
16 And Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chiefs of the Levites, had the oversight of the outward business of the house of God;
ferner Sabbethai und Josabad, welche die weltlichen Geschäfte des Gotteshauses zu besorgen hatten;
17 And Matthaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Assaph, the principal to begin the thanksgiving at prayer; and Bakbukyah the second among his brethren and 'Abda the son of Shammua', the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.
und Matthanja, der Sohn Michas, des Sohnes Sabdis, des Sohnes Asaphs, der Leiter des Lobgesangs, der die Danksagung beim Gebet anstimmte; und Bakbukja, der zweite im Rang unter seinen Genossen, und Abda, der Sohn Sammuas, des Sohnes Galals, des Sohnes Jeduthuns.
18 All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred eighty and four.
Die Gesamtzahl der Leviten in der heiligen Stadt betrug 284. –
19 And the gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmon and their brethren that watched at the gates, were one hundred seventy and two.
Die Torhüter aber waren: Akkub, Talmon und ihre Genossen, die an den Toren Wache hielten, 172 an der Zahl.
20 And the residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance.
Die übrigen Israeliten aber, Priester und Leviten, wohnten in allen Ortschaften Judas zerstreut, ein jeder in seinem Besitztum.
21 But the temple-servants dwelt in the hill-fort; and Zicha and Gishpa were over the temple-servants.
Die Tempelhörigen aber wohnten auf dem Ophel; Ziha und Gispa waren die Aufseher über die Tempelhörigen. –
22 And the overseer of the Levites at Jerusalem was 'Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Chashabyah, the son of Matthanyah, the son of Micha, one of the sons of Assaph, the singers, over the business of the house of God.
Der Vorsteher der Leviten in Jerusalem war Ussi, der Sohn Banis, des Sohnes Hasabjas, des Sohnes Matthanjas, des Sohnes Michas, einer von den Nachkommen Asaphs, den Sängern für den Dienst im Hause Gottes;
23 For the king's command was obligatory on them; and there was a fixed rate for the singers, the requirement of every day on its day.
es lag nämlich eine königliche Verfügung in bezug auf sie vor und eine Verordnung für die Sänger bezüglich ihrer täglichen Amtsleistungen.
24 And Pethachyah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerach the son of Judah, was at the king's hand in every thing concerning the people.
Pethahja aber, der Sohn Mesesabeels, aus der Zahl der Nachkommen Serahs, des Sohnes Judas, war der königliche Beamte für alle Angelegenheiten, die das Volk betrafen,
25 And respecting the villages with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelt at Kiryath-arba' and in its villages, and at Dibon and in its villages, and at Jekabzeel and in its villages.
und für die Dörfer auf ihren Feldmarken. Von den Judäern wohnte ein Teil in Kirjath-Arba nebst den zugehörigen Ortschaften sowie in Dibon nebst den zugehörigen Ortschaften und in Jekabzeel nebst den zugehörigen Gehöften;
26 And at Jeshua', and at Moladah, and at Beth-phelet,
ferner in Jesua, Molada, Beth-Pelet,
27 And at Chazar-shu'al, and at Beer-sheba' and in its villages,
in Hazar-Sual und Beerseba nebst den zugehörigen Ortschaften,
28 And at Ziklag, and at Mechonah and in its villages,
in Ziklag und Mechona nebst den zugehörigen Ortschaften,
29 And at 'En-rimmon, and at Zor'ah, and at Yarmuth,
in En-Rimmon, Zora, Jarmuth,
30 Zanoach, 'Adullam, and in their villages, at Lachish and its fields, at 'Azekah and in its villages. And they dwelt from Beer-sheba' as far as the valley of Hinnom.
Sanoah, Adullam nebst den zugehörigen Gehöften, Lachis und dessen Feldmarken und in Aseka nebst den zugehörigen Ortschaften; sie hatten sich also von Beerseba bis zum Tal Hinnom angesiedelt.
31 And the children of Benjamin [dwelt], beginning from Geba', at Michmash, and 'Ay-ya, and Beth-el, and in their villages,
Die Benjaminiten aber wohnten von Geba an in Michmas, Ajja und Bethel nebst den zugehörigen Ortschaften,
32 'Anathoth, Nob, 'Ananyah,
in Anathoth, Nob, Ananja,
33 Chazor, Ramah, Gittayim.
Hazor, Rama, Hitthaim,
34 Chadid, Zebo'im, Neballat,
Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,
35 Lod, and Ono, the valley of the carpenters.
Lod und Ono (und) im Tal der Zimmerleute.
36 And of the Levites dwelt certain divisions in Judah, and in Benjamin.
Von den Leviten aber gehörten einige judäische Abteilungen zu Benjamin.
