Nehemiah 11
1 And the rulers of the people dwelt at Jerusalem: and the rest of the people cast lots, to bring one of every ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and the nine parts to [remain] in the [other] cities.
Et les principaux du peuple s'habituèrent a Jérusalem, mais tout le reste du peuple jeta le sort, afin qu'une des dix parties s'habituât à Jérusalem la sainte Cité, et que les neuf [autres] parties demeurassent dans les [autres] villes.
2 And the people blessed all the men, that offered themselves voluntarily to dwell at Jerusalem.
Et le peuple bénit tous ceux qui se présentèrent volontairement pour s'habituer à Jérusalem.
3 Now these are the chiefs of the province that dwelt in Jerusalem; but in the cities of Judah dwelt every one in his possession in their cities, [to wit, ] Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the temple-servants, and the children of Solomon's servants.
Or ce sont ici les principaux de la province qui s'habituèrent à Jérusalem; les autres s'étant habitués dans les villes de Juda, chacun dans sa possession, selon leurs villes, [savoir] les Israélites, les Sacrificateurs, les Lévites, les Néthiniens, et les enfants des serviteurs de Salomon.
4 And at Jerusalem dwelt certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah: 'Athayah the son of 'Uzziyah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amaryah, the son of Shephatyah, the son of Mahalalel, of the children of Perez:
Ceux de Juda et de Benjamin s'habituèrent donc à Jérusalem; des enfants de Juda Hathaja fils d'Huzija, fils de Zacharie, fils d'Amaria, fils de Séphatia, fils de Mahalaléel, d'entre les enfants de Pharès.
5 And Ma'asseyah the son of Baruch, the son of Kol-chozeh, the son of Chazayah, the son of 'Adayah, the son of Joyarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of Hashiloni;
Et Mahaséja fils de Baruc, fils de Colhozé, fils de Hazaja, fils d'Hadaja, fils de Jojarib, fils de Zacharie, fils de Siloni.
6 All the sons of Perez that dwelt at Jerusalem were four hundred sixty and eight valiant men.
Tous ceux-là étaient enfants de Pharès, qui s'habituèrent à Jérusalem, quatre cent soixante-huit, vaillants hommes.
7 And these are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Jo'ed, the son of Pedayah, the son of Kolayah, the son of Ma'asseyah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jessha'yah;
Et ceux-ci étaient d'entre les enfants de Benjamin; Sallu, fils de Mésullam, fils de Johed, fils de Pédaja, fils de Kolaja, fils de Mahaséja, fils d'Ithiel, fils d'Esaïe;
8 And next to him Gabbai, Sallai; nine hundred twenty and eight.
Et après lui Gabbaï, Sallaï, neuf cent vingt-huit.
9 And Joel the son of Zichri was overseer over them; and Judah the son of Hassenuah was second over the city.
Et Joël fils de Zicri était commis sur eux; et Juda fils de Sénua était Lieutenant de la ville.
10 Of the priests: Jedayah the son of Joyarib, Jachin:
Des Sacrificateurs: Jéhahia, fils de Jojarib, Jakin,
11 Serayah the son of Chilkiyah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Merayoth, the son of Achitub, the superintendent of the house of God;
Séraja, fils de Hilkija, fils de Mésullam, fils de Tsadok, fils de Mérajoth, fils d'Ahitub, Conducteur de la maison de Dieu;
12 And their brethren who did the work of the house, eight hundred twenty and two; and 'Adayah the son of Jerocham, the son of Pelalyah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashchur, the son of Malkiyah;
Et leurs frères, qui faisaient le service de la maison, huit cent vingt-deux. Et Hodaja fils de Jéroham, fils de Pélalja, fils d Amtsi, fils de Zacharie, fils de Pashur, fils de Malkija.
13 And his brethren, chiefs of the divisions, two hundred forty and two; and 'Amashsai the son of 'Azarel, the son of Achsai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer;
Et ses frères, les Chefs des pères, deux cent quarante-deux. Et Hamassaï, fils d'Hazaréel, fils d'Ahzaï, fils de Mésillémoth, fils d'Immer;
14 And their brethren, mighty men of valor, one hundred twenty and eight; and the overseer over them was Zabdiel, the son of Haggedolim.
Et leurs frères, forts et vaillants, cent vingt-huit; et Zabdiel, fils de Guédolim, [était] commis sur eux.
15 Also of the Levites: Shema'yah the son of Chasshub, the son of 'Azrikam, the son of Chashabyah, the son of Bunni;
Et des Lévites: Sémahja, fils de Hasub, fils d'Hazrikam, fils de Hasabia, fils de Bunni.
16 And Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chiefs of the Levites, had the oversight of the outward business of the house of God;
Et Sabbethaï et Jozabad étaient commis sur le travail de dehors pour la maison de Dieu, [étant] d'entre les Chefs des Lévites.
17 And Matthaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Assaph, the principal to begin the thanksgiving at prayer; and Bakbukyah the second among his brethren and 'Abda the son of Shammua', the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.
Et Mattania, fils de Mica, fils de Zabdi, fils d'Asaph, était le principal [des chantres], qui commençait le premier à chanter les louanges dans la prière. Et Bakbukia était le second d'entre ses frères, puis Habda, fils de Sammuah, fils de Galal, fils de Jéduthun.
18 All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred eighty and four.
Tous les Lévites [qui s'établirent dans] la sainte Cité, étaient deux cent quatre-vingt-quatre.
19 And the gatekeepers, Akkub, Talmon and their brethren that watched at the gates, were one hundred seventy and two.
Et des portiers, Hakkub, Talmon, et leurs frères qui gardaient les portes, cent soixante et douze.
20 And the residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance.
Et le reste des Israélites, des Sacrificateurs, et des Lévites fut dans toutes les villes de Juda, chacun en son héritage.
21 But the temple-servants dwelt in the hill-fort; and Zicha and Gishpa were over the temple-servants.
Mais les Néthiniens habitèrent à Hophel; et Tsiha et Guispa étaient commis sur les Néthiniens.
22 And the overseer of the Levites at Jerusalem was 'Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Chashabyah, the son of Matthanyah, the son of Micha, one of the sons of Assaph, the singers, over the business of the house of God.
Et celui qui avait la charge des Lévites à Jérusalem, était Huzi fils de Bani, fils de Hasabia, fils de Mattania, fils de Mica, d'entre les enfants d'Asaph, chantres, pour l'ouvrage de la maison de Dieu.
23 For the king's command was obligatory on them; and there was a fixed rate for the singers, the requirement of every day on its day.
Car il y avait aussi un commandement du Roi qui les regardait, et il y avait un état assuré pour les chantres chaque jour.
24 And Pethachyah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerach the son of Judah, was at the king's hand in every thing concerning the people.
Et Péthahia, fils de Mésézabéel, d'entre les enfants de Zara, fils de Juda, était commissaire du Roi, dans tout ce qui était à faire envers le peuple.
25 And respecting the villages with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelt at Kiryath-arba' and in its villages, and at Dibon and in its villages, and at Jekabzeel and in its villages.
Or quant aux bourgades avec leurs territoires, quelques-uns des enfants de Juda habitèrent à Kiriath-Arbah, et dans les lieux de son ressort; à Dibon, et dans les lieux de son ressort; à Jékabtséel, et dans les lieux de son ressort;
26 And at Jeshua', and at Moladah, and at Beth-phelet,
A Jésuah, à Molada, à Beth-Pélet.
27 And at Chazar-shu'al, and at Beer-sheba' and in its villages,
A Hatsar-Sual, à Béer-Sébah, et dans les lieux de son ressort;
28 And at Ziklag, and at Mechonah and in its villages,
A Tsiklag, à Mécona, et dans les lieux de son ressort;
29 And at 'En-rimmon, and at Zor'ah, and at Yarmuth,
A Hen-rimmon, à Tsorah, à Jarmuth,
30 Zanoach, 'Adullam, and in their villages, at Lachish and its fields, at 'Azekah and in its villages. And they dwelt from Beer-sheba' as far as the valley of Hinnom.
A Zanoah, à Hadullam, et dans leurs bourgades; à Lakis, et dans ses territoires; et à Hazeka, et dans les lieux de son ressort. Et ils habitèrent depuis Béer-Sébah jusqu'à la vallée de Hinnom.
31 And the children of Benjamin [dwelt], beginning from Geba', at Michmash, and 'Ay-ya, and Beth-el, and in their villages,
Et les enfants de Benjamin [habitèrent] depuis Guébah, à Micmas, Haja, Bethel, et dans les lieux de son ressort;
32 'Anathoth, Nob, 'Ananyah,
A Hanathoth, Nob, Hanania,
33 Chazor, Ramah, Gittayim.
Hatsor, Rama, Guittajim,
34 Chadid, Zebo'im, Neballat,
Hadid, Tsébohim, Néballat,
35 Lod, and Ono, the valley of the carpenters.
Lod, et Ono, la vallée des manœuvres.
36 And of the Levites dwelt certain divisions in Judah, and in Benjamin.
Et quelques-uns des Lévites [habitèrent] dans leurs partages de Juda et de Benjamin.
