< Nahum 3 >
1 Woe to the city of blood! it is all full of lies and robbery; never ceaseth the preying;
Ègbé ni fún ìlú ẹ̀jẹ̀ nì, gbogbo rẹ̀ kún fún èké, ó kún fún olè, ìjẹ kò kúrò!
2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of wheels, and of prancing horses, and of the skipping chariots.
Ariwo pàṣán àti ariwo kíkùn kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun àti jíjó ẹṣin àti gbígbọn kẹ̀kẹ́ ogun jìgìjìgì!
3 Horsemen mount, and there are the flaming sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and heaps of carcasses; and without end are the corpses; they stumble on their corpses;
Ológun orí ẹṣin ń fi ìgbónára ju idà wọn mọ̀nàmọ́ná ọ̀kọ̀ rẹ̀ ti ń dán yanran sí òkè! Ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ si ní àwọn ẹni tí a pa, àti ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ òkú; òkú kò sì ni òpin; àwọn ènìyàn sì ń kọsẹ̀ lára àwọn òkú.
4 Because of the multitude of the lewd deeds of the harlot, that is rich in gracefulness, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her lewd deeds, and families through her witchcrafts.
Nítorí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ panṣágà àgbèrè tí ó rójú rere gbà, ìyá àjẹ́ tí ó ṣọ́ àwọn Orílẹ̀-èdè di ẹrú nípa àgbèrè rẹ̀ àti àwọn ìdílé nípa ìṣe àjẹ́ rẹ̀.
5 Behold, I will be against thee, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will lay thy skirts open over thy face, and I will let nations see thy nakedness, and kingdoms thy shame.
“Èmi dojúkọ ọ́,” ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun wí. “Èmi ó si ká aṣọ àwọ̀tẹ́lẹ̀ rẹ ní ojú rẹ. Èmi yóò sì fi ìhòhò rẹ̀ han àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè àti ìtìjú rẹ̀ han àwọn ilẹ̀ ọba.
6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and defile thee, and will render thee a dirt-heap.
Èmi yóò da ẹ̀gbin tí ó ni ìríra sí ọ ní ara, èmi yóò sì sọ ọ́ di aláìmọ́, èmi yóò sì sọ ọ́ di ẹlẹ́yà.
7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that see thee shall flee from thee, and say, Laid waste is Nineveh: who will condole with her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
Gbogbo àwọn tí ó ba sì wò ọ́ yóò sì káàánú fún ọ, wọn yóò sì wí pé, ‘Ninefe ṣòfò, ta ni yóò kẹ́dùn rẹ?’ Níbo ni èmi o ti wá olùtùnú fún ọ?”
8 Art thou better than No-amon, that was situated on the rivers, that had water round about her, the rampart of which was the sea, and the walls of which rose out of the sea?
Ǹjẹ́ ìwọ ha sàn ju Tebesi lọ, èyí tí ó wà ní ibi odò Naili, tí omi sì yí káàkiri? Odò náà sì jẹ́ ààbò rẹ̀, omi si jẹ́ odi rẹ̀.
9 Ethiopia the numerous, and Egypt that was without end, Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
Etiopia àti Ejibiti ni agbára rẹ, kò sí ní òpin; Puti àti Libia ni àwọn olùgbèjà rẹ̀.
10 Yet also she was exiled, was carried away into captivity; also her young children were dashed in pieces at the corners of all streets: and for her honorable men they cast lots, and all her great ones were bound with chains.
Síbẹ̀síbẹ̀ a kó o ní ìgbèkùn o sì lọ sí oko ẹrú. Àwọn ọmọ wẹ́wẹ́ rẹ̀ ni a ó fọ́ mọ́lẹ̀ ní orí ìta gbogbo ìgboro. Wọ́n sì di ìbò nítorí àwọn ọlọ́lá rẹ̀ ọkùnrin, gbogbo àwọn ọlọ́lá rẹ ni a sì fi ẹ̀wọ̀n dè.
11 Thou also shalt be made drunken, thou shalt be hidden from view: thou also shalt seek refuge because of the enemy.
Ìwọ pẹ̀lú yóò sì mu àmupara; a ó sì fi ọ́ pamọ́ ìwọ pẹ̀lú yóò máa ṣe àfẹ́rí ààbò nítorí ti ọ̀tá náà.
12 All thy strong-holds shall be like fig-trees with the first ripe figs, which, if they be shaken, will fall into the mouth of the eater.
Gbogbo ilé ìṣọ́ agbára rẹ yóò dàbí igi ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ pẹ̀lú àkọ́pọ́n èso wọn; nígbà tí wọ́n bá ń gbọ̀n wọ́n, ọ̀pọ̀tọ́ yóò sì bọ́ sí ẹnu àwọn ọ̀jẹun.
13 Behold, thy people are become women in the midst of thee: unto thy enemies are the gates of thy land set wide open; the fire hath devoured thy bars.
Kíyèsi gbogbo àwọn jagunjagun! Obìnrin ni gbogbo wọn. Ojú ibodè rẹ ní a ó ṣí sílẹ̀ gbagada, fún àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ; iná yóò jó ọ̀pá ìdábùú ìlẹ̀kùn ibodè rẹ.
14 Water for the siege draw for thyself, fortify thy strongholds: go into the clay, and tread the mortar, make strong the brick-kiln.
Pọn omi nítorí ìhámọ́, mú ilé ìṣọ́ rẹ lágbára sí i wọ inú amọ̀ kí o sì tẹ erùpẹ̀, kí ó sì tún ibi tí a ti ń sun bíríkì-amọ̀ ṣe kí ó le.
15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall devour thee up like the cankerworm: [though] thou make thyself many as the cankerworm; make thyself many as the locusts.
Níbẹ̀ ni iná yóò ti jó ọ́ run; idà yóò sì ké ọ kúrò, yóò sì jẹ ọ́ bí i kòkòrò, yóò sì sọ ara rẹ̀ di púpọ̀ bí i tata, àní, di púpọ̀ bí eṣú!
16 [Though] thou hadst multiplied thy merchants more than the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spreadeth itself out, and flieth away.
Ìwọ ti sọ àwọn oníṣòwò rẹ di púpọ̀ títí wọn yóò fi pọ̀ ju ìràwọ̀ ojú ọ̀run lọ, ṣùgbọ́n bi eṣú ni wọn yóò sọ ilẹ̀ náà di ahoro, wọn yóò sì fò lọ.
17 Thy crowned ones are like the locusts, and thy leaders like the swarms of locusts, which camp in the hedges on a cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
Àwọn aládé rẹ̀ dàbí eṣú, àwọn ọ̀gágun rẹ dàbí ẹlẹ́ǹgà ńlá, èyí tí ń dó sínú ọgbà ni ọjọ́ òtútù, ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí oòrùn jáde, wọ́n sálọ, ẹnìkan kò sì mọ ibi tí wọ́n gbé wà.
18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria; thy valiant men are at rest: scattered are thy people upon the mountains, and there is none that gathereth them.
Ìwọ ọba Asiria, àwọn olùṣọ́-àgùntàn rẹ̀ ń tòògbé; àwọn ọlọ́lá rẹ dùbúlẹ̀ láti sinmi. Àwọn ènìyàn rẹ fọ́nká lórí àwọn òkè ńlá, tí ẹnikẹ́ni kò sì kó wọn jọ.
19 There is no healing for thy breach; fatal is thy wound: all that hear the report of thee will clap their hands over thee; for over whom did not thy wickedness pass continually?
Kò sì sí ohun tí ó lè wo ọgbẹ́ ẹ̀ rẹ sàn; ọgbẹ́ rẹ kún fún ìrora, Gbogbo ẹni tí ó bá sì gbọ́ ìròyìn rẹ yóò pàtẹ́wọ́ lé ọ lórí, nítorí ta ni kò ní pín nínú ìwà búburú rẹ ti kò ti lópin.
