Micah 5

1 Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops; they lay siege against us: with the rod they smite upon the cheek the judge of Israel.

Agora ajunta-te em tropas, ó filha de tropas; fazem cerco ao nosso redor; ferirão ao juiz de Israel com vara no rosto.

2 But thou, Beth-lechem Ephratah, the least [though] thou be among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from olden times, from most ancient days.

Porém tu, Belém Efrata, [ainda que] sejas pequena entre as famílias de Judá, de ti me sairá o que será governador em Israel; e suas saídas são desde o princípio, desde os dias antigos.

3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth: then shall the remnant of his brethren return with the children of Israel.

Por isso ele os entregará até o tempo em que a que estiver de parto der à luz; então o resto de seus irmãos voltarão a estar com os filhos de Israel.

4 And he shall stand forward and feed [Israel] through the strength of the Lord, through the excellency of the name of the Lord his God: and they shall abide [safely]; for now shall he be great even unto the ends of the earth.

E eles se levantará, e governará com a força do SENHOR, com a grandeza do nome do SENHOR seu Deus; e eles habitarão [seguros], porque agora ele será engrandecido até os confins da terra.

5 And in this [manner] shall there be peace: If Asshur should come into our land; and if he should tread in our palaces, then will we raise up against him seven shepherds, and eight anointed men.

E este será nossa paz; quando a Assíria vier a nossa terra, e quando pisar nossos palácios, então levantaremos contra ela sete pastores, e oito príncipes dentre os homens;

6 And they shall lay waste the land of Asshur with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the gates of its [cities]: thus will he deliver us from Asshur, if he should come into our land, and if he should tread within our borders.

E dominarão a terra da Assíria pela espada, e a terra de Ninrode em suas entradas; assim ele [nos] livrará do assírios, quando vierem contra nossa terra e invadirem nossas fronteiras.

7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people like dew from the Lord, like showers upon the herbs, that wait not for man, nor hope for the sons of man.

E o restante de Jacó estará no meio de muitos povos, como o orvalho do SENHOR, como gotas sobre a erva, que não esperam ao homem, nem aguardam os filhos de homens.

8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many people, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep: who, if he break in, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, while none can deliver.

E o restante de Jacó estará entre as nações, no meio de muitos povos, como o leão entre os animais do bosque, como o leão jovem entre os rebanhos de ovelhas, o qual quando passa, atropela e despedaça, de modo que ninguém há que possa livrar.

9 High shall thy hand be lifted up above thy adversaries, and all thy enemies shall be cut off.

Tua mão se erguerá sobre teus adversários, e todos os teus inimigos serão exterminados.

10 And it shall come to pass on that day, saith the Lord, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots;

E será naquele dia, diz o SENHOR, que destruirei teus cavalos do meio de ti, e acabarei com tuas carruagens.

11 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and I will throw down all thy strongholds;

Também destruirei as cidades da tua terra, e derrubarei todas as tuas fortalezas.

12 And I will cut off the arts of witchcraft out of thy hand; and soothsayers shalt thou have no more;

Também destruirei as feitiçarias de tua mão, e não terás mais adivinhadores.

13 And I will cut off thy graven images, and thy statues out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more prostrate thyself to the work of thy hands;

Também destruirei as tuas imagens de escultura e tuas colunas de idolatria do meio de ti, e nunca mais te encurvarás diante da obra de tuas mãos;

14 And I will pluck up thy groves out of the midst of thee; and I will destroy thy enemies.

Também arrancarei teus bosques do meio de ti, e arruinarei tuas cidades.

15 And I will in anger and in fury execute vengeance upon the nations, upon those that have not hearkened.

E com ira e com furor farei vingança das nações que não [me] deram ouvidos.
