Micah 4
1 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be firmly established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and unto it shall people flow.
末の日になって、主の家の山はもろもろの山のかしらとして堅く立てられ、もろもろの峰よりも高くあげられ、もろもろの民はこれに流れくる。
2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; that he may teach us of his ways, and we may walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord out of Jerusalem.
多くの国民は来て言う、「さあ、われわれは主の山に登り、ヤコブの神の家に行こう。彼はその道をわれわれに教え、われわれはその道に歩もう」と。律法はシオンから出、主の言葉はエルサレムから出るからである。
3 And he shall judge between many people, and decide for strong nations even afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plough-shares, and their spears into pruning-knives: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, and they shall not learn any more war.
彼は多くの民の間をさばき、遠い所まで強い国々のために仲裁される。そこで彼らはつるぎを打ちかえて、すきとし、そのやりを打ちかえて、かまとし、国は国にむかってつるぎをあげず、再び戦いのことを学ばない。
4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig-tree, with none to make them afraid; for the mouth of the Lord of hosts hath spoken it.
彼らは皆そのぶどうの木の下に座し、そのいちじくの木の下にいる。彼らを恐れさせる者はない。これは万軍の主がその口で語られたことである。
5 [But] though all the people should walk every one in the name of his god, yet will we walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.
すべての民はおのおのその神の名によって歩む。しかしわれわれはわれわれの神、主の名によって、とこしえに歩む。
6 On that day, saith the Lord, will I assemble her that halteth, and her that is driven out will I gather, and her to whom I have done evil;
主は言われる、その日には、わたしはかの足のなえた者を集め、またかの追いやられた者およびわたしが苦しめた者を集め、
7 And I will make of her that halted a remnant, and of her that was cast off far away a strong nation: and the Lord will reign over them on mount Zion, from this time and unto eternity.
その足のなえた者を残れる民とし、遠く追いやられた者を強い国民とする。主はシオンの山で、今よりとこしえに彼らを治められる。
8 And thou, O tower of flocks, the strong-hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall go, and shall come, the former dominion, the kingdom belonging to the daughter of Jerusalem.
羊の群れのやぐら、シオンの娘の山よ、以前の主権はあなたに帰ってくる。すなわちエルサレムの娘の国はあなたに帰ってくる。
9 Now why dost thou cry aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor lost? that pangs have seized on thee as on a woman in travail?
今あなたは何ゆえわめき叫ぶのか、あなたのうちに王がないのか。あなたの相談相手は絶えはて、産婦のように激しい痛みがあなたを捕えたのか。
10 Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail; for now shalt thou go forth out of the town, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go as far as Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there will the Lord redeem thee from the grasp of thy enemies.
シオンの娘よ、産婦のように苦しんでうめけ。あなたは今、町を出て野にやどり、バビロンに行かなければならない。その所であなたは救われる。主はその所であなたを敵の手からあがなわれる。
11 And now many nations are gathered against thee, that say, Let her be defiled, and let our eye look with pleasure on Zion.
いま多くの国民はあなたに逆らい、集まって言う、「どうかシオンが汚されるように、われわれの目がシオンを見てあざ笑うように」と。
12 But they know not the thoughts of the Lord, and they understand not his counsel: that he will [once] gather them as the sheaves into the threshing-floor.
しかし彼らは主の思いを知らず、またその計画を悟らない。すなわち主が麦束を打ち場に集めるように、彼らを集められることを悟らない。
13 Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion; for I will render thy horn iron, and thy hoofs will I render copper, and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will devote unto the Lord their ill-gotten gain, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.
シオンの娘よ、立って打ちこなせ。わたしはあなたの角を鉄となし、あなたのひずめを青銅としよう。あなたは多くの民を打ち砕き、彼らのぶんどり物を主にささげ、彼らの富を全地の主にささげる。
