Malachi 4
1 For, behold, the day is coming, which shall burn as an oven; and all the presumptuous, yea, and all who practise wickedness shall be stubble: and the day that is coming shall set them on fire, saith the Lord of hosts, who will not leave them root or bough.
« Car voici, le jour vient, brûlant comme une fournaise, où tous les orgueilleux et tous les méchants seront du chaume. Le jour qui vient les consumera, dit Yahvé des Armées, et il ne leur laissera ni racine ni rameau.
2 But there shall rise unto you that fear my name the sun of righteousness with healing in his wings: and ye will go forth, and grow fat as calves of the stall.
Mais pour vous qui craignez mon nom, le soleil de la justice se lèvera, la guérison dans ses ailes. Vous sortirez et vous sauterez comme des veaux de l'étable.
3 And ye will tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day that I create, saith the Lord of hosts.
Vous foulerez les méchants, car ils seront comme de la cendre sous la plante de vos pieds, au jour que je ferai, dit Yahvé des armées.
4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, whom I commanded on Horeb for all Israel, statutes and ordinances.
« Souviens-toi de la loi de Moïse, mon serviteur, que je lui ai prescrite en Horeb pour tout Israël, lois et ordonnances.
5 Behold, I send unto you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the day of the Lord, the great and the dreadful.
Voici, je vais vous envoyer Élie le prophète avant que ne vienne le jour grand et terrible de Yahvé.
6 And he shall turn back the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers: lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
Il tournera le cœur des pères vers les enfants et le cœur des enfants vers leurs pères, de peur que je ne vienne frapper la terre de malédiction. »
