< Leviticus 8 >

1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:
2 Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and the bullock for the sin-offering, and the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread;
Take thou Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, —and the sin-bearing bullock, and the two rams, and the basket of unleavened cakes;
3 And all the congregation shalt thou assemble together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
and all the assembly, call thou together, —unto the entrance of the tent of meeting.
4 And Moses did as the Lord had commanded him; and the assembly came together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
And Moses did, as Yahweh commanded him, —and the assembly was called together, unto the entrance of the tent of meeting.
5 And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded to do.
Then said Moses unto the assembly, —This is the thing, which Yahweh hath commanded to be done.
6 And Moses brought near Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.
So Moses brought near Aaron and his sons, —and bathed them with water,
7 And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put upon him the ephod, and he girded him with the belt of the ephod, and bound it unto him therewith.
and put upon him the tunic and girded him with the band, and clothed him with the robe, and put upon him the ephod, and girded him with the curiously-woven band of the ephod, and bound it to him therewith;
8 And he put on him the breastplate; and he put in the breastplate the Urim and the Thummim.
and he put upon him the breastpiece, —and placed, in the breastpiece, the Lights and the Perfections;
9 And he put the mitre upon his head; and he placed upon the mitre, toward the front thereof, the golden plate, the holy crown; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
and he put the turban upon his head, —and put upon the turban, on the forefront thereof the burnished plate of gold—the holy crown, As Yahweh commanded Moses.
10 And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them.
And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the habitation and all that was therein, —and hallowed them;
11 And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times; and he anointed the altar and all its vessels, also the laver and its foot, to sanctify them.
and he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, —and anointed the altar, and all the utensils thereof and the laver and its stand to hallow them
12 And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and he anointed him, to sanctify him.
and he poured of the anointing oil, upon the head of Aaron, —and anointed him, to hallow him.
13 And Moses brought near the sons of Aaron, and clothed them with coats, and girded them with girdles, and bound the bonnets on them; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
And Moses brought near the sons of Aaron and clothed them with tunics and girded them with bands, and wrapped round for them turbans, —As Yahweh commanded Moses.
14 And he brought near the bullock of the sin-offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock of the sin-offering.
Then was led near the sin-bearing bullock, —and Aaron and his sons leaned their hands upon the head of the sin-bearing bullock,
15 And some one slew him; and Moses took the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar, and the [remaining] blood he poured out at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it, to make henceforth atonement upon it.
Then was it slain, and Moses took the blood and put [thereof] upon the horns of the altar round about, with his finger, and cleansed the altar from sin, —and the [remainder of the] blood, poured he forth at the base of the altar, and hallowed it putting a propitiatory-covering thereupon.
16 And he took all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the midriff of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and Moses burnt them upon the altar.
And he took all the fat that was on the inwards, and the caul of the liver, and the two kidneys and their fat, —and Moses made a perfume at the altar.
17 But the bullock, and his hide, and his flesh, and his dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
But the bullock itself, and its skin and its flesh and its dung, consumed he with fire, outside the camp, —As Yahweh commanded Moses,
18 And he brought near the ram of the burnt-offering; and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.
Then was brought near the ram for the ascending-sacrifice, —and Aaron and his sons leaned their hands upon the head of the ram;
19 And some one killed him; and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.
and it was slain, —and Moses dashed the blood against the altar round about;
20 And the ram he cut into the proper pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat.
and the ram itself, was cut up into its pieces, —and Moses made a perfume with the head and with the pieces and with the fat;
21 And he washed the inwards and the legs in water; and Moses burnt the whole ram upon the altar: it was a burnt-sacrifice for a sweet savor, an offering made by fire unto the Lord; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
but the inwards and the legs, were bathed in water, —and Moses made a perfume with the whole ram at the altar, an ascending-sacrifice, it was—for a satisfying odour an altar-flame, it was unto Yahweh, As Yahweh commanded Moses.
22 And he brought near the other ram, the ram of consecration; and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.
Then was brought near the second ram, the ram of installation, and Aaron and his sons leaned their hands upon the head of the ram;
23 And some one slew him; and Moses took some of his blood, and put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.
and it was slain, and Moses took of the blood thereof, and put upon the tip of Aaron’s right ear, —and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.
24 And he brought near Aaron's sons, and Moses put some of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot; and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.
Then were brought near the sons of Aaron, and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, —and Moses dashed the blood against the altar round about.
25 And he took the fat, and the rump, and all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the midriff of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right shoulder;
And he took the fat and the fat-tail, and all the fat that was on the inwards, and the caul of the liver, and the two kidneys and their fat, —and the right shoulder;
26 And out of the basket of unleavened bread, that was before the Lord, he took one unleavened cake, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and he put them on the fat, and upon the right shoulder;
and out of the basket of unleavened-cakes that was before Yahweh, took he one round unleavened-cake and one round oil-cake, and one wafer, and put them upon the fat portions, and upon the right shoulder;
27 And he placed the whole upon the hands of Aaron, and upon the hands of his sons, and made with them a waving before the Lord.
and placed the whole upon the opened palms of Aaron, and upon the opened palms of his sons, —and waved them as a wave-offering, before Yahweh.
28 And Moses then took these things from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt-offering: they were a consecration-offering for a sweet savor, a fire-offering were they unto the Lord.
And Moses took them from off their opened palms, and made a perfume at the altar upon the ascending-sacrifice, —an installation, they were for a satisfying odour, an altar-flame, it was unto Yahweh.
29 And Moses took the breast, and made therewith a waving before the Lord; from the ram of consecration was it given to Moses as his portion; as the Lord had commanded Moses.
And Moses took the breast, and waved it as a wave-offering, before Yahweh, —of the ram of installation, unto Moses it belonged, as a portion, As Yahweh commanded Moses.
30 And Moses took some of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled the same upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and his sons with sanctified upon the garments of him; and he Aaron, his garments, and his sons, and the garments of his sons with him.
And Moses took of the anointing oil and of the blood that was upon the altar, and sprinkled upon Aaron, upon his garments, and upon his sons and upon the garments of his sons with him, —and hallowed Aaron, his garments, and his sons and the garments of his sons with him.
31 And Moses said unto Aaron and to his sons, Boil ye the flesh at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation; and there shall ye eat it with the bread that is in the basket of the consecration; as I have commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it.
And Moses said unto Aaron and unto his sons Boil ye the flesh, at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and there, shall ye eat it, and the bread which is in the basket of installation, —as I have been commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons, shall eat it.
32 And that which is left of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn with fire.
But, that which is left of the flesh, and of the bread, with fire, shall ye consume.
33 And from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation shall ye not go forth seven days, until the days of your consecration be at an end; for seven days shall your consecration last.
And from the entrance of the tent of meeting, shall ye not go forth for seven days, until the day that filleth up the days of your installation, —because for seven days, will he install you:
34 As they have done this day, so hath the Lord commanded to do farther, to make an atonement for you.
as hath been done this day, [so] hath Yahweh commanded to be done, to put a propitiatory-covering over you.
35 And at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation shall ye abide day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the Lord, that ye die not; for so have I been commanded.
Even at the entrance of the tent of meeting, shall ye abide day and night for seven days, and shall keep the watch of Yahweh and shall not die, —for, so, am I commanded.
36 And Aaron and his sons did all the things which the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses.
And Aaron and his sons did all the things which Yahweh had commanded through the mediation of Moses.
