Leviticus 6
1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
L’Éternel parla ainsi à Moïse:
2 If any person sin, and commit a trespass against the Lord; if he, namely, lie unto his neighbor in that which was delivered to him to keep, or in a loan, or in a thing taken away by violence, or if he have withheld the wages of his neighbor;
"Si un individu pèche et commet une faute grave envers le Seigneur, en déniant à son prochain un dépôt, ou une valeur remise en ses mains, ou un objet ravi, ou en détenant quelque chose à son prochain;
3 Or if he have found something which was lost, and lie concerning it, and swear falsely; in any one of all these which a man can do, to sin thereby:
ou si, ayant trouvé un objet perdu, il le nie et a recours à un faux serment; enfin, pour un des méfaits quelconques dont l’homme peut se rendre coupable,
4 Then shall it be, when he hath sinned and is conscious of his guilt, that he shall restore what be hath taken violently away, or the wages which he hath withheld, or that which was delivered to him to keep, or the lost thing which he hath found,
lorsqu’il aura ainsi péché et reconnu sa faute, il restituera la chose ravie, ou détenue par lui, ou le dépôt qui lui a été confié, ou l’objet perdu qu’il a trouvé.
5 Or any one thing about which he may have sworn falsely; and he shall restore it in its principal, and the fifth part thereof shall he add thereto; unto him to whom it appertaineth shall he give it, on the day when he confesseth his trespass.
De même, tout ce qu’il aurait nié sous un faux serment, il le paiera intégralement, et il y ajoutera le cinquième. Il devra le remettre à qui il appartient, du jour où il reconnaîtra sa faute.
6 And his trespass-offering shall he bring unto the Lord, a ram without blemish out of the flocks, of the usual value, for a trespass-offering, unto the priest:
Puis, il offrira pour son délit, à l’Éternel, un bélier sans défaut, choisi dans le bétail, selon le taux de l’offrande délictive, et qu’il remettra au pontife;
7 And the priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord, and it shall be forgiven unto him, for any one thing of all that he may have done to trespass thereby.
et le pontife lui fera trouver grâce devant l’Éternel, et il recevra son pardon pour celui de ces faits dont il se sera rendu coupable."
8 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
L’Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
9 Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt-offering: It is the burnt-offering, which shall be burning upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning on it.
"Ordonne à Aaron et à ses fils ce qui suit: Ceci est la règle de l’holocauste. C’Est le sacrifice qui se consume sur le brasier de l’autel, toute la nuit jusqu’au matin; le feu de l’autel y doit brûler de même.
10 And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and linen breeches shall he put upon his flesh, and he shall lift up the ashes which the fire hath made by consuming the burnt-offering on the altar, and he shall place them beside the altar.
Le pontife revêtira son habit de lin, après avoir couvert sa chair du caleçon de lin; il enlèvera sur l’autel la cendre de l’holocauste consumé par le feu, et la déposera à côté de l’autel.
11 And he shall take off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes to without the camp, unto a clean place.
Il dépouillera ses habits et en revêtira d’autres, pour transporter les cendres hors du camp, dans un lieu pur.
12 And the fire upon the altar shall be burning on it, it shall not be put out, and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning: and he shall lay in order upon it the burnt-offering, and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace-offerings.
Quant au feu de l’autel, il doit y brûler sans s’éteindre: le pontife y allumera du bois chaque matin, y arrangera l’holocauste, y fera fumer les graisses du rémunératoire.
13 A perpetual fire shall be burning upon the altar; it shall not go out.
Un feu continuel sera entretenu sur l’autel, il ne devra point s’éteindre.
14 And this is the law of the meat-offering: [one of] the sons of Aaron shall bring it near before the Lord, in front of the altar.
Ceci est la règle de l’oblation. Les fils d’Aaron ont à offrir en présence de l’Éternel, sur le devant de l’autel.
15 And he shall lift up from it his handful, of the flour of the meat-offering, and of its oil, and all the frankincense which is upon the meat-offering, and he shall burn it upon the altar, for a sweet savor, as its memorial, unto the Lord.
On y prélèvera une poignée de la fleur de farine de l’oblation et de son huile, puis tout l’encens qui la couvre, et l’on en fera fumer sur l’autel, comme odeur agréable, le mémorial en l’honneur de l’Éternel.
16 And what is left thereof shall Aaron and his sons eat: unleavened shall it be eaten in a holy place; in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation shall they eat it.
Ce qui en restera, Aaron et ses fils le mangeront: il sera mangé sous forme d’azymes, en lieu saint: c’est dans le parvis de la Tente d’assignation qu’on doit le consommer.
17 It shall not be baked leaven; as their portion have I given it from my offerings made by fire; it is most holy, as is the sin-offering, and as is the trespass-offering.
Il ne sera pas cuit avec du levain, étant leur portion que j’ai réservée sur mes sacrifices; il est éminemment saint, comme l’expiatoire et le délictif.
18 all the males among the children of Aaron shall eat of it, as a fixed portion for ever in your generations from the fire-offerings of the Lord: every one that toucheth the same shall be holy.
Tout mâle parmi les enfants d’Aaron pourra le manger: revenu perpétuel attribué à vos générations sur les combustions de l’Éternel. Tout ce qui y touchera deviendra saint."
19 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
L’Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
20 This is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer unto the Lord on the day when he is anointed: the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meat-offering perpetually; half of it in the morning, and the other half of it in the evening.
"Voici l’offrande qu’Aaron et ses fils présenteront au Seigneur, chacun au jour de son onction: un dixième d’êpha de fleur de farine, comme oblation, régulièrement; la moitié le matin, l’autre moitié le soir.
21 In a pan, with oil, shall it be made, well sodden shalt thou bring it; twice baked, a meat-offering of broken pieces, shalt thou offer it for a sweet savor unto the Lord.
Cette oblation, accommodée à l’huile dans une poêle, tu l’apporteras bien échaudée, pâtisserie d’oblation divisée en morceaux, que tu offriras, comme odeur agréable, à l’Éternel.
22 And the priest that shall be anointed in his stead among his sons shall offer it: it is a statute for ever, unto the Lord; it shall be wholly burnt.
Tout pontife, appelé par l’onction à lui succéder parmi ses fils, fera cette oblation. Tribut invariable offert à l’Éternel, elle doit être entièrement consumée.
23 And every meat-offering of a priest shall be wholly burnt, it shall not be eaten.
De même, toute oblation d’un pontife sera brûlée entièrement, on n’en mangera point."
24 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
L’Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
25 Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin-offering: On the place where the burnt-offering is killed shall the sin-offering be killed before the Lord; it is most holy.
"Parle ainsi à Aaron et à ses fils: Ceci est la règle de l’expiatoire. A l’endroit où est immolé l’holocauste, sera immolé l’expiatoire, devant l’Éternel: il est éminemment saint.
26 The priest who maketh atonement with its blood shall eat it: in a holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Le pontife expiateur devra le consommer; c’est en lieu saint qu’il sera consommé, dans le parvis de la Tente d’assignation.
27 Whatsoever may touch the flesh thereof shall be holy: and if there should be sprinkled any of its blood upon a garment, whatever it hath been sprinkled on shalt thou wash out in a holy place.
Tout ce qui sera en contact avec sa chair deviendra saint; s’il rejaillit de son sang sur un vêtement, la place où il aura jailli sera lavée en lieu saint.
28 And any earthen vessel wherein it may have been boiled shall be broken: and if it have been boiled in a copper vessel, it shall be both scoured and rinsed with water.
Un vaisseau d’argile où il aura bouilli, sera brisé; que s’il a bouilli dans un vaisseau de cuivre, celui-ci sera nettoyé et lavé avec de l’eau.
29 Every male among the priests may eat thereof: it is most holy.
Tout mâle parmi les pontifes pourra en manger; il est éminemment saint.
30 And every sin-offering whereof any of the blood is brought into the tabernacle of the congregation to make atonement therewith in the holy place, shall not be eaten; it shall be burnt in fire.
Mais tout expiatoire dont le sang serait introduit dans la Tente d’assignation pour faire expiation dans le sanctuaire, on n’en mangera point; il sera consumé par le feu.
