< Leviticus 22 >
1 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they keep themselves away from the holy things of the children of Israel, [so that they profane not my holy name] which they hallow unto me: I am the Lord.
Speake vnto Aaron, and to his sonnes, that they be separated from the holy thinges of the children of Israel, and that they pollute not mine holy name in those things, which they hallowe vnto me: I am the Lord.
3 Say unto them, In your generations, if there be any man of all your seed, that approacheth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the Lord, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am the Lord.
Say vnto them, Whosoeuer he be of all your seede among your generations after you, that toucheth the holy things which the children of Israel hallowe vnto the Lord, hauing his vncleannesse vpon him, euen that person shall be cut off from my sight: I am the Lord.
4 Any man whatsoever of the seed of Aaron, that is a leper, or hath a running issue, shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean; and whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;
Whosoeuer also of the seede of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue, he shall not eate of the holy things vntill he be cleane: and who so toucheth any that is vncleane, by reason of the dead, or a man whose issue of seede runneth from him,
5 Or a man who toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man through whom he can be rendered unclean, through any kind of uncleanness which he hath:
Or the man that toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made vncleane, or a man, by whom he may take vncleannesse, whatsoeuer vncleannesse he hath,
6 The person that toucheth any such shall be unclean until the evening, and he shall not eat of the holy things, unless he have bathed his flesh in water.
The person that hath touched such, shall therefore be vncleane vntill the euen, and shall not eat of ye holy things, except he haue washed his flesh with water.
7 And when the sun hath set, he shall be clean; and afterward he may eat of the holy things; because it is his food.
But when the Sunne is downe, hee shalbe cleane, and shall afterward eate of the holy things: for it is his foode.
8 That which dieth of itself, or is torn by beasts, shall he not eat, to defile himself therewith: I am the Lord.
Of a beast that dyeth, or is rent with beasts, whereby he may be defiled, hee shall not eate: I am the Lord.
9 And they shall keep my charge, that they may not bear sin through it, and die therefore, if they profane it: I am the Lord who sanctify them.
Let them keepe therefore mine ordinance, least they beare their sinne for it, and die for it, if they defile it: I the Lord sanctifie them.
10 And no stranger shall eat of a holy thing: a sojourner of a priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat of a holy thing.
There shall no stranger also eate of the holie thing, neither the ghest of the Priest, neither shall an hired seruant eat of the holie thing:
11 But if a priest buy a person with his money, then may he eat of it; and those that are born in his house, may eat of his bread.
But if the Priest bye any with money, he shall eate of it, also he that is borne in his house: they shall eate of his meate.
12 And if the daughter of a priest be married unto a stranger, she may not eat of the offered part of holy things.
If the Priests daughter also be maried vnto a stranger, she may not eate of the holy offrings.
13 But the daughter of a priest, if she be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, may eat of her father's bread; but no stranger shall eat thereof.
Notwithstanding if the Priests daughter be a widowe or diuorced, and haue no childe, but is returned vnto her fathers house shee shall eate of her fathers bread, as she did in her youth but there shall no stranger eate thereof.
14 And if a man eat a holy thing unwittingly, then shall he add the fifth part thereof unto it, and he shall make good unto the priest the holy thing.
If a man eate of the holie thing vnwittingly, he shall put the fift part thereunto, and giue it vnto the Priest with the halowed thing.
15 And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the Lord;
So they shall not defile the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer vnto the Lord,
16 And load on themselves the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things; for I am the Lord who sanctify them.
Neither cause the people to beare the iniquitie of their trespas, while they eate their holy thing: for I the Lord do halowe them.
17 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
18 Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, If there be any man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that offereth his oblation, be it for any manner of vows, or for any manner of freewill-offerings, which they may offer unto the Lord for a burnt-offering:
Speake vnto Aaron, and to his sonnes, and to all the children of Israel, and say vnto them, Whosoeuer he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his sacrifice for all their vowes, and for all their free offrings, which they vse to offer vnto the Lord for a burnt offring,
19 Then shall it be, that it may be favorably received for you, a male without blemish, of the oxen, of the sheep, or of the goats.
Yee shall offer of your free minde a male without blemish of the beeues, of the sheepe, or of the goates.
20 Whatsoever on which there is a blemish shall ye not offer; for it will not be favorably received for you.
Ye shall not offer any thing that hath a blemish: for that shall not be acceptable for you.
21 And when a man offereth a sacrifice of peace-offering unto the Lord as a vow, or a freewill-offering of the herds or of the flocks: it shall be without blemish to be favorably received; no kind of bodily defect shall be thereon.
And whosoeuer bringeth a peace offring vnto ye Lord to accomplish his vowe, or for a free offring, of the beeues, or of the sheepe, his free offring shall bee perfect, no blemish shalbe in it.
22 A blind, or broken-limbed, or maimed animal, or one having a wen, or itch, or scurvy, —ye shall not offer these unto the Lord, and a fire-offering shall ye not make of them upon the altar unto the Lord.
Blinde, or broken, or maimed, or hauing a wenne, or skiruie, or skabbed: these shall yee not offer vnto the Lord nor make an offring by fire of these vpon the altar of the Lord.
23 And an ox or a lamb that hath a limb too long or too short, that mayest thou offer for a freewill-offering; but for a vow it shall not be favorably received.
Yet a bullocke, or a sheepe that hath any member superfluous, or lacking, such mayest thou present for a free offring, but for a vowe it shall not be accepted.
24 And one that is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut in the testicles, shall ye not offer unto the Lord; and in your land shall ye not make the like.
Ye shall not offer vnto ye Lord that which is bruised or crusshed, or broken, or cut away, neither shall ye make an offring thereof in your land,
25 And from a stranger's hand shall ye not offer the bread of your God from any of these; because their corruption is on them, a bodily defect is on them: they shall not be favorably received for you.
Neither of ye hand of a strager shall ye offer ye bread of your God of any of these, because their corruption is in them, there is a blemish in them: therefore shall they not be accepted for you.
26 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
27 When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then shall it remain seven days by its mother; and from the eighth day and thenceforth shall it be favorably received for an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
When a bullocke, or a sheepe, or a goate shall be brought foorth, it shalbe euen seuen daies vnder his damme: and from the eight day forth, it shalbe accepted for a sacrifice made by fire vnto the Lord.
28 And whether it be ox or sheep, ye shall not kill it and its young both in one day.
As for the cowe or the ewe, yee shall not kill her, and her yong both in one day.
29 And when ye offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving unto the Lord, offer it so that it may be favorably received of you.
So when ye will offer a thanke offring vnto the Lord, ye shall offer willingly.
30 On the same day shall it be eaten up; ye shall leave none of it until the morning: I am the Lord.
The same day it shalbe eaten, yee shall leaue none of it vntill the morowe: I am the Lord.
31 And ye shall keep my commandments and do them: I am the Lord.
Therefore shall ye keepe my commandements and do them: for I am the Lord.
32 And ye shall not profane my holy name; so that I may be sanctified among the children of Israel; I am the Lord who sanctify you,
Neither shall ye pollute mine holy Name, but I will be halowed among the children of Israel. I the Lord sanctifie you,
33 That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be unto you a God: I am the Lord.
Which haue brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.
