< Leviticus 2 >

1 And when any person wish to offer a meat-offering unto the Lord: then shall his offering be of fine flour; and he shall pour upon it oil, and put thereon frankincense;
When anyone brings a grain offering to Yahweh, his offering must be fine flour, and he will pour oil on it and put incense on it.
2 And he shall bring it to one of the sons of Aaron the priest; and he shall take therefrom his handful of its flour, and of its oil, with all its frankincense; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, as an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto the Lord.
He is to take the offering to Aaron's sons the priests, and there the priest will take out a handful of the fine flour with the oil and the incense on it. Then the priest will burn the offering on the altar as a representative offering. It will produce a sweet aroma for Yahweh; it will be an offering made to him by fire.
3 And what is left of the meat-offering shall belong to Aaron and to his sons: it is a most holy thing, from the fire-offerings of the Lord.
Whatever is left of the grain offering will belong to Aaron and his sons. It is very holy to Yahweh from the offerings to Yahweh made by fire.
4 And if thou bring an oblation of a meat-offering baked in the oven, it shall be of fine flour, unleavened cakes mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.
When you offer a grain offering without yeast that is baked in an oven, it must be soft bread of fine flour mixed with oil, or hard bread without yeast, which is spread with oil.
5 And if thy oblation be a meat-offering baked in a pan, it shall be made of fine flour mingled with oil, unleavened.
If your grain offering is baked with a flat iron pan, it must be of fine flour without yeast that is mixed with oil.
6 Thou shalt break it in pieces, and pour thereon oil: it is a meat-offering.
You are to divide it into pieces and pour oil on it. This is a grain offering.
7 And if thy oblation be a meat-offering baked in the deep pan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil.
If your grain offering is cooked in a pan, it must be made with fine flour and oil.
8 And thou shalt bring the meat-offering, which shall be made of these things, unto the Lord; and the offerer shall present it unto the priest, who shall bring it near unto the altar.
You must bring the grain offering made from these things to Yahweh, and it will be presented to the priest, who will bring it to the altar.
9 And the priest shall take up from the meat-offering its memorial, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto the Lord.
Then the priest will take some from the grain offering as a representative offering, and he will burn it on the altar. It will be an offering made by fire, and it will produce a sweet aroma for Yahweh.
10 And that which is left of the meat-offering shall belong to Aaron and his sons: it is a most holy thing, from the fire-offerings of the Lord.
What is left of the grain offering will belong to Aaron and his sons. It is very holy to Yahweh from the offerings to Yahweh made by fire.
11 No meat-offering, which ye shall bring unto the Lord, shall be prepared leavened; for of whatever is leaven, or of any honey, ye shall not sacrifice an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
No grain offering that you offer to Yahweh is to be made with yeast, for you must burn no leaven, nor any honey, as an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
12 As an oblation of the first-fruits shall ye offer them unto the Lord: but on the altar shall they not come for a sweet savor.
You will offer them to Yahweh as an offering of firstfruits, but they will not be used to produce a sweet aroma on the altar.
13 And every oblation of thy meat-offering shalt thou season with salt; and thou shalt not suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat-offering: with all thy offerings shalt thou offer salt.
You must season each of your grain offerings with salt. You must never allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be missing from your grain offering. With all your offerings you must offer salt.
14 And if thou offer a meat-offering of the first-fruits unto the Lord: of ripe ears of corn dried by the fire, of pounded corn out of full ears, shalt thou offer the meat-offering of thy first-fruits.
If you offer a grain offering of firstfruits to Yahweh, offer fresh grain that is roasted with fire and then crushed into meal.
15 And thou shalt put upon it oil, and lay thereon frankincense: it is a meat-offering.
Then you must put oil and incense on it. This is a grain offering.
16 And the priest shall burn its memorial, from its pounded corn, and from its oil, with all its frankincense; it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
Then the priest will burn part of the crushed grain and oil and incense as a representative offering. This is an offering made by fire to Yahweh.
